I go out of my way to make the evening and Sunday offerings that are not offered at my local. (I am always going to give 4 stars to the YMCA due to the locker room because this always seems to be a secondary thing for the Y. It is ok - but reminds you of your HS). Rest of facility - The costs for access to equipment and classes is competitive. I never have to wait for the cardio machines and enjoy that this location has an indoor track.

We have loved every teacher he has had and we LOVE Aubrey (Manager). He has grown to feel comfortable with multiple staff members and he truly enjoys class every time we come. I won't say that there are days where he wants more sleep, is having a teething day or regression, but out of the hundreds of classes we have come to, he maybe has had a handful only of "bad days". The teachers always accommodated to his attitude days and we managed each time! It's great to know that you're not alone in having a wild child or rough days. Moms and dads alike always welcome you and just joke about the terrible days. It's just an inviting place as a whole! Autumn, Emmaline, Eliana, and Caitlyn have all been just delightful. We have had Caitlyn through his first year and now we have her for his level 2/ first independent swimming class series and he LOVES her. She is honestly one of my favorite people ever. She makes swimming and learning fun for them, she explains what they need to work on, and allows your child to work for themselves as well so you know the classes are working! Aubrey has always been caring and hands on. She is always watching and is just the sweetest person ever!

I love the waiting area that allows me to keep an eye on my girls during lessons. There's also a safety button to make use kids are on the right side of the door. The instructors work very well with the students. My 3 yo has some anxiety around water. Instructors are able to give her extra attention to help her become more comfortable with the water. You can also tell that everyone has a lot of experience working with very young children. They take pride in what they do.

We've been going since December 2019. She does get frustrated with herself and sometimes gets in her own head so she needs a bit of patience from coaches to find her way out. This week she was attending a summer camp. She was working on skills and was frustrated. I let a few questionable comments from Carlos - coach/owner go bc (1)They were 1 sided and came from my 12 year old only and (2) I don't know the relationship/communication style they have with each other. Today, however, she called me hysterically crying from camp saying she wanted me to pick her up early and never wanted to come back. When I asked why she said "He called me WORTHLESS and said I was pulling my friend down with me". I was livid but decided to discuss and hear his side of the story. Long story short: in a private discussion (out of my courtesy for his place of business) he felt she was not putting effort forth during the week and thought she wasn't trying/running hard enough while playing "sharks and minnows" that day. He then clarified that he didn't call her worthless - he said she was "BEING WORTHLESS " - apparently there is a difference(?). I've been a teacher for 26 years. That is a word that SHOULD NOT enter your vocabulary when working with children - EVER. A coach's job is to build children up, EMPOWER them - not tear them down. Not every child responds the same way to coaching and directions. Coaches (especially experienced coaches) should have a tool belt of strategies to use even if they are at their wits end - that do not demean a child. My daughter (as he was aware) has ADHD and takes criticism to heart in a deep and painful way. This has torn her apart. Now, I realize we are all human and times are stressful. I realize that kids can get on your last nerve (Kindergarten teacher here) but when that happens and you lose your cool you put on your ADULT hat, apologize to the CHILD, first and foremost, tell them why you were upset, correct the message you mistakenly sent and promise to do better the next time. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN. Not even an apology to my distraught daughter. His response to my concern was that we were free to leave at any point. When I told him we had already made that decision he said "there's the door - walk a little faster." I admit I stooped to the level of using a word I'd rather not post at this point. In any case, we will NOT be returning. If you choose to take your children here be sure to discuss with them each and every session how they were spoken to and how they felt. I worry that some will be treated in the same way and not have the courage to share that information and will internalize it, causing damage to their self esteem.

I worked with this school for years and I left the company due to numerous reasons. 1. I was responsible for training a manager that would be sent out to a location in Austin. She ends up coming back 4 months later due to how harshly everyone at the Austin location treated her. She was looked down upon because of her skin color, and was told she would never make it to management. I don't believe that the people up in Austin were ever held accountable. Even despite that "holding people accountable" IS one of their core values. RACIST! 2. Let's not forget the make up lessons! At first you could schedule a make up if you missed it. Then, you got a make up token if you missed it. And then, there was no make up tokens, unless you bought them for $15. I happened to have my sibling signed up to swim, and on the last day of the semester he was enrolled in, they had a code brown (pretty frequent in this location). I was contacted by the lifeguard (not the customer service rep or the manager) that they would call me back to schedule a make up lesson and I have been waiting for 2 years now. I doubt Elmer would be willing to offer me the lesson that I paid for! Seems like Elmer went full corporate. 3. This is not a safe location at all! My ex boss's pick up truck was stolen in broad daylight right from the parking lot during business hours! This happened back in 2021. One of my ex-coworkers car window was broken into in 2022. Police never arrived, duh, Dallas. 4. I WAS FORCED TO TAKE A COVID EXAM BACK IN 2020 AND I HAD TO PAY FOR IT OUT OF POCKET. CORPORATE DEMANDED THAT I TAKE A TEST AFTER A SATURDAY SHIFT. I DID NOT GET COMPENSATION FROM THE COPANY. I PAID $400! 5. The final straw. I left the company due to how corrupt corporate EMLER became. Their own core values were violated by higher ups, Haydon Smith and Melissa Magee (don't forget Austin location) to be specific. The "hold each other accountable" is the most hypocritical statement that this company makes its employees recite at the beginning of every meeting. My coworkers mentioned to me that they wanted to form a union, and I agreed. Although, my co-workers, carried this conversation into the staff room, the camera's "microphone" picked up the audio and it seemed like someone was on the other end listening. Bear in mind that it was a private conversation between two adults that are now getting ready to lock the building & go home. It was after business hours, that's a fact. Well long story short, they got fired over the weekend for "low performance". I was not told why, or when, or even given a good explanation as to why corporate decided to sweep people under the rug. Forming a union is an American right and this company aught to get BOYCOTTED for firing people over this. 6. Swim lessons are expensive and will not get any cheaper! This company was bought out in 2022 so it's best to take your kids to a small business instead. Lessons in California are not as expensive as they are here and teachers are able to make more money in California than in this company. This is coming from a conversation I had with someone who owns a swim school in San Francisco while I was teaching their kid! P.S. EMLER will also make you sign a waiver where if you were to go out and teach lessons outside of the contract, you can get sued for this. EMLER really wants all the monopoly. They have a pay cap. They will not pay you more than $20 hr, but they are steadily raising lesson prices? I came to find out that many of my coworkers, neighboring schools, did not get payed for the work they did. For example, I had a ex-coworker (Walnut-Hill location) & was pushed to do management duties while being paid as a porter for 1 full calendar year. I've had my fair share of good moments but this company is not what it used to be, it's corporate greed.

He gives such great feedback to the athletes. It doesn't matter if you're a basic or advanced stunter. They have people of all ranges that show up. Ryan is really great about making his way around to everyone. He makes an effort to learn everyone's name and get to know them. You feel right at home there. In most gyms stunt classes I have to do a lot of coaching with my girls. The people running the class like to stick around the more advanced stunters because that's more "fun" to work with. But Ryan is great and makes sure to work with everyone. It's great when you find a coach who actually knows what they're doing and clearly enjoys what they do! I have an infant and a husband who travels. I LOVE that I'm allowed to bring my son with me. Granted I keep him in the carrier the whole time, I worry about someone stepping on him. But I'm so appreciative of a gym that will allow me to work with my girls and have my son with me! Talk about family friendly! If you're in high school thinking about cheering in college, you're in college looking for somewhere to stunt or you're old like me and just like to see if you can still do a few skills I definitely recommend going here on Thursday nights at 8:15. He was able to get me a private lesson that afternoon! He has been teaching for over 30 years. He has a lot of experience and a ton of patience with me! Lessons are always fun. He plays upbeat music and is able to explain skills in different ways so I can better understand my approach. Picking up a new hobby is difficult but I'm glad I have Fred as my coach. He has provided me with a ton of tips! 10/10 would recommend him to my friends and family.
