For some reason this is a place we kinda forget is in our neighborhood. But when we go, it's always a solid experience. Especially nice is the dog friendly patio with lots of TVs for game days. There's even a couple dog items on the menu, which our pup would have given a "thumbs up" if he had thumbs. Our meal included quesadilla app (very cheesy), fajitas (good size portion and yum), and Cubano sammy (quite good). Upgrade your side to the sweet potato fries. It's been several years since we enjoyed a meal at Lakeside bar and grill, so I decided to try it out on July 4th. With no one to cook for besides me and hubby, I figured what's more American than going out to eat? It was a GREAT experience! The place has been completely remodeled and enlarged since I was here last. It's up to date with hi top tables, lots of TVs (closed captioning too) showing lots of sports, and a trendy vibe. The bar is larger and has a good selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. (Be sure to try the Orange Dreamsicle. It's non alcoholic and really refreshing.). There's even a misted pet-friendly patio and a special doggo menu. Because it's Independence Day I tried the pork ribs and they were crazy good. Hubs had the Philly cheesesteak, no regrets there either. Oh, if you like onion rings, the ones they served me were a perfect golden brown and the onions melted in my mouth. Harrison, our waiter, was attentive and charming He made the meal even more pleasant. Bottom line here is if you want a friendly upbeat place to watch the game, or a place to meet your friends, or just have a great meal, come on down. Positive: Food was good. Cons: service was not on it. My family walked in and the hostess sat us pretty quick. BUT! No one ever came to check on us or serve us. By about 30min I was about to walk up, but finally a server asked if we have been seen. She thankfully took care of the rest. As for the environment, it was too loud. So first of all I love the dog friendly patio. The Cuban sandwich was really tasty and we also had the chips and salsa. Now the service leaves much to be desired for sure. I had a baked potato with my Cuban sandwich and I could not get a server to bring me silverware. Every time I would get someone's attention they would say I am not your server. Let me find him. So by the time I got a fork my potato was cold. Such a bummer. If you've ever tried to put cold butter on a cold potato, you know it doesn't work. Now the chips and the salsa were really good so that was a plus. I will give this restaurant a second chance because of the dog patio.and the chips and salsa. We went to Lakeside with friends. To our disappointment they no longer offer the mango salad. My husband gets it sometimes or the impossible burger for an extra $5. It doesn't seem to be a craft kitchen anymore, the menu has changed. I only saw a vegetarian meal and we are plant based without dairy as well. I can't tell you how disappointed we were. Not coming back. I was able to order a cup of the roasted vegetable soup which tasted good but could have been hotter. I also ordered a side of sweet potato fries which I try to avoid fried food but I was limited in what to order. The salads on the new menu all have things we would need to remove, like dairy and meat. So we'd be paying $$$ for just lettuce at that point. Service was amazing! Very attentive staff. I gave 3 stars because I ordered the lemon chicken piccata and the chicken just looked like a big chicken tender. A true chicken piccata is a grilled chicken breast with the lemon and caper sauce over it. This had nothing and thankfully the waitress offered more sauce or an exchange of the entree. I did take the extra sauce which made a difference. I suggest the menu go back to grilled chicken and not fried. Three of us went to happy hour here on a late Wednesday afternoon and sat at the bar. Our bartender, I believe her name is Kori, was right there with menus and drink orders. Drinks presented fast. We ordered a BLT (no lettuce so is that a BT?), a Chicken Chimichanga, and a Nashville Hot Chicken Wrap. Of the three, my daughter was clearly the winner with her chimi. My wife liked her BT and coleslaw. What I did notice was the size of my wrap. It is considerably smaller that I remembered from a few years ago, but was good. One thing, my onion rings, it's time to change the oil in the fryer. That was the only complaint. Kori is a dynamo behind the bar. Nobody wants for anything. We agreed we will come back. read more

First time, and most likely last. It wasn't horrible but not somewhere I would want to go back and spend my money. We went for the dueling pianos and arrived an hour early. We asked for a table in front or near the bar, we were told they couldn't accommodate us and the tables were taken. So they seated us in the back table where you couldn't see anything or participle. The food was generic nothing I would want to go back for. The servicer checked on us frequently but was not friendly. He kept asking what else we needed. We asked for water, he filled one of four glasses and didn't even ask anyone else if they wanted more. I have tried over and over......but being a glutton for punishment, I thought I could have good luck. NOPE!!! Sat at the bar since I was alone. The bartender asked what I would like....i asked for El Tosoro! Her reply..." Never heard of it, how bout a beer!" Reluctant I ordered a draft that was posted....she informed me I would have to wait since they were changing the keg. She offered a bottle instead. I simply said I would wait. Meanwhile...I started inspecting the bottles....and lo and behold what I was asking for was actually on the shelf. I debated if I should call her out....but opted for ordering food and waiting. I decided on the special which was the fried fish...all you can eat. Well, when it arrived it was basically 3 small fish sticks with a plate of French fries and pre made slaw. The entire plate smelled like dirty grease. The fish tasted of hot grease and no flavor. I sat patiently as the waitress checked on everyone around me. At one point I was even raising my hand as she was checking on the pair next to me....only to pass me over and go to the other side of the bar. Food is terrible....service is shotty.....and for damn sake at least be aware of the bottles you carry before you pipe off and be condescending to a guy that will pay a premium for a pour of something that's openiy right in front of me. Great casual sports-bar type atmosphere. Lots of beer and other adult beverages to choose from and definitely a come-as-your-are vibe. Typical comfort food is available and lots of the usual choices meaning burgers, wings, salads and more. Wait staff is friendly and prompt, checking on you just the right amount of time. She was so professional and relaxed taking care of everyone's drink and food orders. The drinks and food were all really good and the service from all staff was friendly and efficient. Cute atmosphere though it can get a bit loud when they're busy. Actually quit going some time ago. As good as the food is, and it is really good bar food, we like to sit at the bar, and there is one particular bartender that provides consistantly the WORST service. Bourbon and diet and vodka soda order confuses her. Once you finally get a drink, who knows when you'll get another. Food is another problem. Clearly lost or forgot to hang our ticket. Finally had to ask her about it because she didn't notice us right in front of her with NO FOOD! After asking repeatedly, still couldn't get dipping sauce for my chicken. I finally found a waitress working the floor and explained the situation. She appeared shocked but brought me the sauce. When I told the bartender not to worry, I got my dipping sauce else where, she appeared not to know what I was talking about. We never got to go boxes. We just up and left. These incidents and more happened over about half a dozen visits. There are too many places to go where you don't have to beg for service. Still, the food IS good, so maybe sit at a table. read more

Ordered a buffalo chicken salad and the chicken was super crunchy and hard to eat, 16$ for a buffalo chicken salad is already over priced and then you get crunchy chicken making it hard to even eat. Disappointed.. sad because this used to be my favorite place to come for a buffalo chicken salad but this makes me not want to return. read more
