The food is great as long as the good cook is working that day and mediocre at best if he's not there. The service is great always very nice waitresses and pretty quick service especially for how understaffed they appear to be. Unfortunately lately we have been doing mostly to go orders because we refuse to eat in a building with no air conditioning. Shame on golden entertainment for not maintaining their building properly and their staff and patrons are suffering for it. They put in two or three evaporative coolers but don't have enough people to properly keep them filled with water so really they do no good. Honestly I can't believe the state hasn't threatened to shut the place down if they don't fix it it's a health hazard to everyone that goes in there for any amount of time at ninety plus degrees inside during the heat of the day I wouldn't be surprised if someone passed out or worse right there on the floor. Since COVID they can no longer do the buffet style dining they were known for and that makes the out of the way location even less appealing. The service is always good at best and poor on average. We had a nice visit here on Easter Sunday afternoon. Caroline was great She's a well seasoned professional and spunky. We felt badly though. She was playful with out autistic son and felt badly when he reacted in a less than normal way. She was great. Wow! My first really terrible review. Stopped here for the first time Friday evening around 6:30. Cashier said there would be a 15 minute wait. Sat in the smoke filled casino for 35 minutes playing vp. By the time they called us we smelled like the inside of a cigarette pack. There was some confusion getting seated, like the hostess didn't quite know which of the 5 or so open tables and booths to seat us at. As we passed the salad bar, we noticed an older "gentleman" standing at the salad bar sneezing incessantly directly in front of the salad. Guess we won't be having that. We're seated at a rear booth, where we sat for 15 minutes. Good thing we got a drink in the casino as there was no waitress to offer menus, or water. She finally showed up (no water) and dropped 2 menus and said "I'll be right back to take your order". 10 minutes later she came back. By now we were getting really bad vibes but didn't want to drive into town to find something different So she takes our order (a chicken quesadilla and a bowl of soup), points me to the salad bar and disappears into the kitchen. I grab a bowl of chili (not bad) and a cornbread muffin top (ok), but there is no butter to be found anywhere. 15 minutes later I'm done with the chili and thinking about having another but I'm waiting for my wife's quesadilla to show up. No sign of the waitress. 10 more minutes of waiting and I'm getting pissed. How long does it take to melt some cheese and chicken on a tortilla? Still no waitress. No water. Drinks are long gone. 10 more minutes go by and the waitress walks by to take another order and I ask "how long does it take to make a quesadilla? We've been waiting 35 minutes" she says "sorry, the cook is backed up in the kitchen" I say can you at least bring some water? That takes another 5 minutes. Still no food. She tells my wife to partake of the salad bar. No thanks, sneezing man. Now I'm really ticked off. Wait for 5 more minutes and say enough. Walk over to her and ask can I see a manager? She says would I like to talk to the chef? No thanks. I go to the hostess station and tell her the problem and ask to see the manager. "No manager on duty" ok, we're done. I throw down $10 for my bowl of soup, get the wife and walk out. Over an hour with no quesadilla in sight! Didn't have the means to do thanksgiving on thanksgiving this year, so we decided to do a little something today and this and one other place were the only ones open. The ONLY good thing about the food was it was at least warm. My fiancé got the Thanksgiving meal and the turkey was dry and the stuffing was sticky. My little brother got the country fried steak and it basically tasted like a microwaved meal. I had the fried shrimp and that was at least decent, but first was told they couldn't substitute the coleslaw for fries and then did and didn't give me the coleslaw. The ranch here is super salty. Went to dinner tonight the waitress was very nice. When got the bill there were all types of charges. When we asked we were told up charges. Hamburger patty with box mashed potatoes and nicely flavored brown gravy. $2 extra for Onion Soup. A crouton or two would have been a nice touch in the watery broth with chopped pieces of onions. I am in Pahrump regularly and I eat here all the time. It is diner food. The prices are reasonable and the food is good. It's not gourmet, low calorie, or fancy, but it is a good value for the price, large portions, tasty. Unfortunately they do not allow you to call ahead for takeout, you have to order there which is kind of a pain. Went for Sunday Brunch buffet. $9.99 included a drink and there was an omelet and pasta station in addition to breakfast buffet items like bacon, sausage, potatoes, eggs Benedict which looked gross, biscuits, gravy and a surprisingly very good chicken fried steak. Literally the worst service I've ever had. Our waitress forgot our drinks, brought out our food, and then didn't check on us again for almost 30 minutes. (We kept trying to get her attention to ask about our drinks but she kept looking everywhere but at us.. instead moving chairs around and wiping tables she had already wiped) After I gave her my card to pay (we were sitting there for at least 15 minutes trying to flag her down to ask how we check out), she finally asked "do you want a refill?". Maybe when you saw it was empty when you brought the food out? No thoughtfulness and I felt like the server just DID NOT want to serve me. She didn't even bring the receipt for me to sign. Sunday Brunch is amazing! The food is just so good! I love their omelet/waffle station! Just too good to pass up! The service was good but when waiting to be seated takes over an hour and there are open tables that just aren't being clean someone isn't managing right! Sunday morning breakfast with the whole family so we decided to go to Lakeside for breakfast. Was greeted by Mia and her attitude was less than stellar, so I was not sure our experience was going to be very pleasant, but our server Caroline more than made up for the unpleasantness of Mia. The buffet was well stocked & fresh and Tyler at the Omelet Station was very attentive with the grandchildren, he also made a fantastic waffle for me. Overall our breakfast was a great start to our day. Went for Christmas dinner and the Filet Shrimp Oscar Special was amazing! The presentation was appealing, the Filet Mignon cooked to perfection, the shrimp melted in our mouth! I could go on but kudos to the chef! and kitchen staff! They were extremely busy but we had fantastic service, right down to the timing of the "take out" meals we had asked to be brought out toward the end of our meal. Thank you Jaime! Fish Fry Friday is awful. The presentation is awful. Throw a piece of fish on a plate with hushpuppies on top of a few fries. No coleslaw on the salad bar! What fish n chips does not have coleslaw? When I complained the kitchen staff brought it out which tells me untrained staff doesn't even know coleslaw is a staple for fish n chips. All you can eat...no thanks.
