Not sure what's going on with the turnover rate for dental hygienist in the offices but it's definitely affecting the performance and quality of work. The past four visits I've had different four different hygienists. They all seem relatively new. My biggest pet peeve is when hygienists do not take the time to floss behind my permanent retainer. If I'm coming in a for 15 minute cleaning, which in this office only consist of a simple cooling mist of water and polishing, can you please take the time to floss each tooth properly? I perform the same 15 minute cleaning every night with my waterpik and my Oral B electric toothbrush. Dental cleanings are designed to remove plaque and tartar deposits that have built up on teeth and these 15 minutes "cleanings" are not sufficient. Each tooth must be scaled individually to ensure that all tartar is removed and this was definitely not performed. They don't even provide a fluoride as a final step. Most dental cleanings last between 30 minutes to an hour on average. I should not have to go home and floss my own teeth immediately after a dental appointment when I'm paying for expert flossing. Staff is always friendly and great but I value my dental health. read more

After breaking a tooth I took to the internet to find a dentist. Being new to the area, I came to YELP first. I'm located in Kissimmee, but could not find a dentist with ratings that seemed up to par for this area. I extended my search mileage and found Lakeside Family Dentistry and Dr. Seppi in Windermere. Wow, I'm so glad I did. Dr Seppi was able to get me in the same day. His staff was so nice and they got me in a chair at the time of my appointment. Dr Seppi assessed the situation with my tooth and provided me a few different options. We went with the root canal. This was my first root canal and not being a fan of Dentists in general I was rather nervous. Other than the slight pinch of the numbing shot, the procedure was for the most part painless. I give Dr Seppi and his team 5 stars and highly recommend them to anyone that asks. read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! The other reviews look like employees. We relocated to this area and had to find a new dentist. I sent my daughter there to get her teeth cleaned, after doing full x-rays he tells her that she has "6 cavities" (she's in her 20's) she has her teeth cleaned and checked every 6 mo's. due to good insurance and has never had that problem before. Yes, the office looks nice and is in a central location, but all they are after is your money. We have moved on to another reputable dental firm and have had no problems. read more

I should start off by saying that the team at Lakeside Family Dentistry has been a life saver! From the moment I stepped into their office they have done everything in their power to make me feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible. Most people don't enjoy visiting the dentist, but I have a huge phobia of needles and become overwhelmed and panicked at even the thought of having to have any injections. I mean it's like ugly cry, hyperventilating, shaking, refusing to open my mouth kinda panic. Did I mention I'm almost 30 years old? Yup. Not my proudest moments! I've needed to have a copious amount of work done from fillings, to root canals and extractions (obviously all requiring needles and injections) and through it all I always had a hand to hold (you know who you are!) and encouraging words to make me feel empowered and like I could absolutely do it. Dr. Seppi worked quickly to get me out of there as soon as he could but also was intuitive in knowing when I needed a break or a moment to calm myself down. I know that most reviews are supposed to be about scheduling and how quickly you can get an appointment and blah blah blah... honestly, anyone can figure that out. What I want to focus on is the reason why I choose to keep coming back time and time again. I truly believe that what sets this practice apart is how funny, comforting, and GENUINE the staff and Dr. Seppi are. Because of how worked up I get (I swear I try not to!) there was always someone in the room with me talking about life, travel, personal experiences... you name it! I feel like they care about me as a person and that I'm not just a number or another appointment to get through. If you do want to know about scheduling, I'll just say that due to a big move coming up I wanted to get all of my fillings done before leaving and asked them to help. I have had 4 appointments, gotten ALL work completed,and was even able to schedule a cleaning all in about the span of a month and a half. If that's not going above and beyond for their patients, I don't know what is. Lakeside Family Dentistry has saved my teeth and gotten me to a healthy place for the first time in my life. More than that, they have helped me learn to face and control my phobia of needles. Don't get me wrong, I still cry but it's SO. MUCH.
