The doctor was nice enough. The front girls okay. My prescription was completely wrong. I ended up having to pay again for another prescription from a different Doctor. My daughter had a nice experience. She has a simple prescription. They also have a nice selection of designer frames. Her glasses and contacts were perfect for her and she will go. I'm updating this from 3 stars to 4 stars. My daughters expensive frame broke and the staff was able to replace her glasses same day with a small 20 fee. Very impressed! read more

Worst customer service I've ever experienced. I had an appointment and was 5 minutes late and she made made big deal saying that they have appointment time's for a reason and told me to wait which I didn't have a problem with. But after 30 minutes the doctor comes out and asked who I was and the said to the receptionost why didn't you come get me and that she'll see me right now. Meaning the receptionist did it out of spite. Also speaking on the phone they are just as rude and argued with me telling me I have to make an appointment for my contacts even though I got a text saying they are ready to be picked up. I can't pick them up but have to schedule an appointment? And she goes, "I just told you" you going to make an appointment or not and when I answered no she hung up on me. We have been coming here for about 9 years. We are a bit family and they have always been able to schedule us all at once, which is a huge relief to not have to go multiple times for appointments. My husband purchased a pair of frames and wanted to return them the next day because they were a little too big for his face and was informed of no return policy. No where on the receipt or on their website does it say no return. Nor when the purchase was made was he informed of NO return. All buyers be ware. This optometry office is by far the worst office I have ever dealt with in 21 years of raising my kids, the so-called manager who refuses to let you talk to a doctor and will tell you there's no one above her that you can speak with is by far the rudest person I have ever met in my entire life and then when we picked up glasses that she tells me went to the prison center to be worked on because she broke them when we were charged to replace the frames that should have been covered under insurance but she was too lazy to process the paper work and refused to help. she couldn't provide me any type of tracking or information on when they will be back in my kid was without glasses for over a month then when they came back in when they finally did arrive, we're handed our prescription our glasses and told not to return because she didn't like the fact that I asked her to do her job so if you have IEHP as health insurance don't ever come to office because they will treat you extremely disrespectfully because you have IEHP and they don't feel like they need to do anything for you. read more

The doctor has no patience for children, does not introduce herself, and has no bedside manners. She refused to test my child's vision because she couldn't get eye drops in (wasnt even going to use numbing drops prior, knowing fully well it burns without the numbing) after two very mediocre attempts, seems as though she doesn't want to deal with patients that require a little more effort and would rather just send them out. Maybe don't offer pediatric exams if you don't have the heart for it. Lady at the front desk was very helpful and more attentive than the actual doctor. read more

*UPDATE* The receptionist's name is ANA, after this comment my mom went to pick up the glasses and the receptionist was very confrontational over this review. It's funny to see that this kind of behavior between your employee and a customer is acceptable in this establishment. Once again, your employee is the first interaction a customer has and by the way she handles it, it's not a good welcoming interaction. I am glad I made this review because since then, a handful of people have reached out and stated they've experienced the same issues with this place. If I could leave no stars I would. This place is horrible. Both times we came here the experience has been unbearable and cringe. First time I came with my daughter I had explained to the "receptionist" (to say the least, no people experience at all) that my daughter needed an adjustment in the frame as a screw had came loose. Not sure if I wasn't speaking English because she did a full eye test on my daughter and her response was "your daughter says she can see", I had to explain to her that, that wasn't the reason for my visit. The second time was earlier today when I had asked if there was any guarantee on the glasses that i just bought less than 6 months ago, rudely she said "NO." (at every other place I have been they always offer guarantee). For the white girl in the front (the lady we had always had the "pleasure" of speaking to), when in a position where you are the first face people see when you walk in, you are the face of the company, and with that attitude, the company isn't going far. I have never been to an optometrist so are naive to the process of requiring glasses. My first experience with this establishment was undesirable. The staff failed to offer basic customer service for my minor daughter's appointment. We were not greeted, and no process was explained. While filling out basic paperwork my daughter was taken by an associate to a back room without warning or explanation. They then proceeded to have another person pull her back into yet another room, to which I followed. No name was provided by anyone in office. The woman doing the examination proceeded to address my daughter and did not acknowledge me until I spoke up. The experience was bad enough for me to seek out another referral from her primary doctor. read more

I'm going to honest and leave a review with facts that cannot be argued or denied in regards to the office itself. I've been to a handful of different optometry offices over the years and never experienced one so outdated and poorly maintained. I understand the concept of "you get what you pay for" however am not sure that should be applicable in a medical office. The pre testing area was poorly maintained, having chords and office supplies scattered throughout. It seemed to be more of a storage closet with a noticeable monitor resting very wobbly on a display. This testing area consisted of a questionably wobbly seat as well which I had no issues with, in part because I was caution after observing other patients prior. The testing equipment was dated and taped up in parts with noticeable peeling of glue i'm assuming manufacturing glue that is dried up. During my pretesting one of the receptionists struggled to adjust the machine for me, i'm not sure if this was an equipment error or a user error. Regardless the receptionist remedied the issue by completely detaching a plastic covering and using brute force to adjust the machine. Might be a sign the owners may want to invest in a tune up or it simply hasn't been brought to their attention. Regardless the actual testing was very quick and seemed seamless, I was in and out. However very swift this may or may not be concerning, considering i'm not in the optometry profession I feel that the optometrist may not have been thorough or may just be excellent at their craft. Having worked in a dental office I was not bothered but surprised with the phone usage among the staff, even overhearing a personal call from a receptionist in the main lobby area. It did make sense when the optometrist who preformed my eye exam seemed to also be quick to get back on her phone looking up only in small increments as I walked out of her exam room. My experience felt very disconnected as if I was in a training simulation for new hires practicing with obsolete equipment for practice and training purposes. Ultimately, I would compare this optometrist office to the equivalent of a fast food restaurant- having the mentality of you get what you get, fairly predictable, willing to expect poor conditions, and entry level/basic customer service. read more

My husband asked about getting an exemption for the DMV for window tint due to his sensitive eyes. She automatically shut him down and said he was misinformed. when in fact she is the one who needs to get her information checked. My friend called for me because my glasses broke, she didn't quite understand the lady that answered the phone .. AND when we dialed the number it showed up as a dental office... She asked "who is this again?" The lady said.. "you CALLED me, you don't know WHO you called?" My friend tried to explain and the woman was extremely rude.. my friend did get upset and did say a choice word, hit the lady wouldn't let her explain...I tried calling back asking to speak to a manager, and was questioned like I was a criminal, she came back on the line saying "you already spoke to the manager remember? The doctor was sweet as well. I received a new prescription for contact lenses and they helped me place an order through insurance which arrived within a few days. Nice and helpful staff! The optometrist was extremely knowledgable and made me feel very comfortable. I don't have vision insurance, so the eye exam was $85, but it included an exam and prescription for both contacts & eyeglasses! Target, Walmart, and several other optometrists wanted to charge me around $60+ for an eyeglass exam and around $90+ for contacts. I will never go anywhere else! read more

I had a good experience here. I came in for a check up and to order more contacts. I brought my baby to my appointment and they were very baby friendly. They were polite to me and my baby even offering to watch my baby while I filled out the forms. I was really grateful for that as some businesses get annoyed when they see you with a baby. Dr. Teresa is a sweet lady and I think I'll be back for future checkups. The location is convenient too because it's in a nice shopping plaza in the company of Target, McDonald's and Yogurtland. I chose this place because it had great reviews. This place is a pleasant place you can see that they know what they're are doing but I've had better optometrists before. I think their equipment is a bit dated. I've actually had optometrist show me a picture of my whole eye and tell me what they're looking for, such as hyper tension, heart health, etc etc. When I went back to pick up my glasses, it wasn't personable - it was rather blah. They also did not check to see if we needed our frames adjusted, which was dissapointing. My husband even noticed it, which his sister owns her own optometry office that is in a different state or else I would have gone to her. I just wasn't impressed but they are knowledgeable. They are just missing that personal touch especially since getting glasses can be a individual sort of thing. I don't know if I would go back since my son have to get his eyes checked again in about 6 months. read more

They are family oriented and do all they can to accomodate your schedule.. even coming in on their off days to help us out. "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" That's the quote it gives you when you enter in a 5 star rating and this place deserves every bit of that accolade! I am not sure what initially drew me to this place but I can definitely tell you what keeps me coming back. Every cog in this machine runs flawlessly; the 2 wonderful doctors, the clean establishment, the amazing selection of eye wear and last but definitely not the least would be their wonderful staff! These girls scream professionalism with a heavy dose of friendly personality. Maybe it's because we've been coming here for so long but here we are truly treated like family and I'm not talking about the "It's Thanksgiving; we have to invite them" type of family! I mean the kind you care about because we truly feel cared about here. I read some of the other "not so nice" comments about Lakeside and I am perplexed. You would have to expect a bad experience and work really hard to have one in order to have one here.
