Hard pass on this place. My daughter had her appointment on July 24th. No glasses to this day. The first pair got lost in shipment. The second set was ordered 10 weeks ago and is still pending. Nothing has been resolved. I bought contacts there with the promise of a rebate and the way the order for my contacts was did not qualify for one, which im sure their sales rep knew and still upsold me to their benefit. The eye doctor is very condescending. Treated me like I was 3! Never once welcomed me or introduced himself. Asked me what I was there for. Then I didn't want to do his new machine that looks at your Reyna, he said there was nothing he can do for me. I told him I go to a specialist, then he reminded me I was type 2 diabetic. As he says it as I walked out. I know I am a diabetic for. Dah, that's why I go to a specialist. I have been going there for 20 years or more. Mission optometry has changed for the worst. My wife and son have gone to Mission Optometry for a couple of years. This year, my daughter and I joined them as we had never had a vision exam. Upon entering, we were greeted with a smile and helped us with the check in. All four of us did our exam and then we waited to see Dr. Joyce to read the results and do another vision test. I loved that he was so friendly with all of us. He was thorough while informing us of the previous test results, and where my wife and son stood with their current test. My daughter and I didn't need glasses so we're cooler ;) Even though my vision results were great. It felt good to know and learn a few things about our vision. When I first started to wear glasses I came here. They are kind, welcoming, & office was always clean. Entire staff made me feel really comfortable. They have a great selection of glasses too; within everyone's price range. Overall, there were some bumps through out the years but nothing crazy. Many of these offices are understaffed so I let little things go. However, I stopped coming here because I didn't appreciate how they treated me during covid. So, I went somewhere else. When I did, another doctor told me my prescription was way too strong. Bummer. read more

The optometrist that we got this time at the office, I don't even know his name because he never introduced himself..He is very dull doesn't explain things very unfriendly doesn't interact with patients..Also my wife and myself have been having a lot of issues with our prescription this time..We had to go second time for a recheck because of wrong prescription.. sad to say that we will probably be looking for a new optometrist. He vaguely mentioned I have a serious issue that can cause permanent vision loss and did not even give time to process it to ask any questions I had. What was worse is the fact the staff not sending the referral on time. After 4 months.. I am still waiting for it to be approved and I am in pain now with a headache. Called many times and was lied to as I found out that it was not even sent. One receptionist just forwarded me the referral. Called again and they said will call back with more info and never called then called again to be hung up on, as soon as I mentioned about the issue. So unprofessional.. Isn't the staff trained on steps to follow on important paperwork??? and isn't that part of the job their doing?? What is wrong with people.. just so heartless and do not care for patients.. we are all just a number and employees just looking for a paycheck as if they do not have eyes... Just to be clear I did not purchase or receive any official services from this company. However, I did stop in after getting my eyebrows done next door. I had broken my glasses a few weeks back, so I just popped in to see if they could repair them for me. The front desk lady informed me that they were on break but could have someone in the back fix them for me. 5 minutes later a lady came out handed me my glasses in perfect condition. I asked the charge and she said no charge. I was so happy to have my glasses again and to know people would do things out of the kindness of their hearts. I will definitely be conducting business there next time that I am due for glasses. read more

Staff is friendly. Eye exam was good. I bought two pairs of glasses with two different frames. Two different prescriptions one for reading one for driving. I explained what glasses were for reading and what frames were for driving at least four times. I had my eyes dilated so I could not read my paperwork clearly. When my glasses were delivered they were the same frame. The ones for reading were supposed to be the gold frame I selected. The red frame had the progressive lens in it that I did not want. It seems like it can be a easy fix. But it's very inconvenient that I need to be going back and fourth to fix the issue. What I ordered did not seem that complicated. I came to get a pair of sunglasses after an eye exam elsewhere. On 8-28-17 I placed an order and was told they would be ready on 9-8. On the 8th I called and was told to call back on the 11th. I called on the 11th and was told not ready and to call back on the 15th. On the 15th I called and was told that the frames had been sent out and it would be another week. On Sept 22 I called again and was told the lenses had come in wrong and it would be another week. On the 29th I called again and was told it would be another couple of days. Oct 6 I called again and was told the lenses were being shipped back to the store and would be ready next week. On Oct 10th I called and was told the glasses were in. 44 days of waiting for glasses to come in. Not a single phone call from them to let me know what is going on. Lots of waiting on hold to find out if they are in. At the end, just a sorry that took so long. And then nothing. Will not be returning. Once they had money in hand, they seem to stop caring whether or not I had my product. read more

I love this place! We moved to lake elsinore just over two years ago and we happened to hear about this place because they called our new house phone to clarify an appointment for someone else who use to have our number. Anyway, I explained that the person must have a new number, but I am looking for a place to get glasses. They made me an appointment for me and my kids and we have had great service on every trip. I've been a patient at this office in the past but had to take a break from coming here due to moving. My husband and I are moving back in town so I called on August 16th to set up an appointment with the doctor. I wish I could remember who I spoke with but whoever it was "scheduled" my appointment for today, August 24th. When I spoke with this person on the phone, I told her I was recently married and if she could change my last name in my chart, which she did. Fast forward to today...I called to confirm my appointment time because I thought I would be a few minutes late, common courtesy to let the office now. Long story short, my appointment was NEVER schedule because the lady I talked to on the phone today, Bianca, said I wasn't on the schedule. I know for a fact that I called to make an appointment because I checked my call log and I know they updated my last name to my new married name. Due to the front office's screw up, there wasn't another appointment with Dr. Joyce until October!!! It's such a shame because Dr. Joyce is a fantastic doctor but because of the front offices mistake I have decided to take my business elsewhere where they can actually schedule a patient and follow through with that appointment read more

It was my first time to have my eyes checked for eyeglasses and contacts in this establishment. They had a new doctor who unfortunately did not do a good eye assessment (he no longer works there now) on me and a new pair of eyeglasses was ordered (but gave me strong eye strain). Good thing a different doctor from Mission Optometry re-assessed me and had new pair of eyeglasses done for me free of any additional charge. This was my first time being seen by Dr. Joyce and I have nothing bad to say about him. In fact, he is probably the best dr at that office that I have encountered. ( there have been quite a few since I've been going there since I was in 6th grade. ) he explained everything to me and even gave me some options that I really didn't even think about. Not only is he knowledgeable in his profession but he was very personable and made me feel like I was visiting a friend. I have been going to Mission Optometry for years now. I have never had a bad experience but today I was blow away by how great these people are. This morning my new contacts, which I got about a month ago, kept burning my eyes every time I tried to put them in. (Not their fault, it was the contacts that I chose to purchase) Luckily, I had a pair of glasses as a back up. Well... I put my glasses on and they broke (They are over a year old & I screw around in them a lot) Me, being as blind as a bat, went in as soon as they opened expecting the worst (that I would have to pay tons of money to switch contacts and get new frames for my glasses) I was immediately taken care of and brought back to speak to someone. The took me back to talk about the issues I was having and solutions. I got a brand new pair of glasses under my warranty and they are going to switch my contact lenses to ones I used previously. ALL OF THIS COST ME NOTHING. They even gave me a pair of contact to wear while my glasses are being ordered. Not to mention all of the staff is very friendly and my doctor (Which I can't think of his name) is very careful as he examines my eyes. He found something in the back of my eye that no other doctor found & that he is going to monitor. I would highly recommend Mission Optometry. read more

This place is decent. The receptionist were great. The optometrist I saw was good. She had me try a couple different brands of contact lenses but none of them felt as comfortable as the brand that I have been wearing the past few years so she let me keep wearing the old brand with my new prescription. My biggest complaint is all the issues that I've had with my glasses. I ordered them on 7/15 and they arrived on 8/2. When I got there to pick them up that day the optician was adjusting the frames and the second time she adjusted them she came back and the lens had cracks in them so she had to send them back out for new lenses again. On 8/13 my glasses are ready again so I go to pick them up and express my concern that my prescription feels off in my left eye but i'm told that I need to get use to the new prescription so I thought okay ill give it a few days. I went back about 3 days later to tell them it still doesn't feel right and they run test on the lenses and have me make a follow up appointment with the optometrist for the 8/19. I show up at the appointment and the optometrist retested my eyes and she made changes to my prescription and I handed my glasses back to them once more to have new lenses put in. On 8/28 my glasses are ready again and I go in and the new prescription is so much better and i'm happy with them now. The one thing that bothers me now is how has the structural integrity of my $200 Oakley frames been affected by having 3 sets of lenses put in them within a month and a half? read more

I recently moved and needed to find a optometrist in my area as my glasses that I was prescribed a year ago didn't help my left eye at all. I went in and was diagnosed with Keratoconus in my left eye which was missed by my previous optometrist. I needed to be fitted with special contacts, which indeed did help me see alot better. I wanted to like this place. I really tried, but if you take your eye care (particularly contact lens wear) seriously I would avoid this place. My experience started out great. I saw DR. JOYCE. Went in for a regular exam for eyeglasses, and he went out of his way to accommodate me for a fit into contact lenses. I had worn them previously and was excited about getting into them again. But this required more appointments, interactions with office staff and this is when the problems started. The wait times to see Dr. Michelle Cruz was about an hour each time. The staff after my initial visit seemed uninterested in the issues I was having with fit, comfort, and clarity of vision in my contact lenses. It took me 4 months of persistence, but they eventually let me try a different brand. Made all the difference in the world! After reading online, I hear it's fairly common for something as simple as a brand change to solve contact lens issues. Though the staff at Mission Optometry never really suggested this to me until the very end. I mistakenly finalized my contact lens order early on, before giving my eyes time to adjust. So I made the return appointments for rechecks and adjustments. They ordered trial pairs. This went on for months. Finally I got my contact lenses just right. I thought I could return my contact lens boxes for a year supply of the correct lenses for my eyes. They wouldn't do this. They gave me credit for my unopened boxes, which left me 6 months short. When I asked for my opened boxes back, they give me one of them back. JESSICA was having problems finding the other box for my right eye. After some time, she comes back with 4 contact lens containers without the box. She said here you go, we just threw away the box. When I get in the car and read the prescription, it's wrong! She gave me stock lenses from the office instead of the ones I ordered and paid for. I just didn't feel like the staff was on my side. It felt like an uphill battle in my eye care and they lied to me. I was supposed to get a year supply of contact lenses and I ended up with 6 months and I lose $80. -William K. read more

By far the best place to go. I've been to this location twice and both times were nothing short of a great experience! Out of six different eye doctors I went to this was the first place that didn't try to rip me off by throwing in extra stuff and not telling me. First time was for an eye infection, My insurance didn't cover what I needed, it wasn't even a question they instantly started looking for the cheapest way to go. As we were finishing everything up my doctor stepped out for a minute and came back with a sample of the drops that was better then what I was about to go pay $60 at Walgreen. The second time I needed new glasses, not only did they work daily to try and fit me in because of my hard schedule. I ended up having to get my exam at another place, while I was there they told me that just the lens would cost me $180. Had an appointment today and i received numerous reminder calls, emails, txt, and voicemails and i get here early and they dont have my paperwork ready. So in total I have been to three different eye doctors in the past 8 years and by far they are the best. They are very gental and don't shine that stupid light into your eye forever. They acknowledged that I have light sensitive eyes and found a way to check me without using a super bright beam into my eye.
