My experience with Claremont optometry was amazing. The staff was very friendly and professional. My wait time was minimal and my exam took just minutes for the Dr. to examine my eyes and write his prescription. My insurance pays 100% single vision lenses and frames. The office is very clean and they have lots of beautiful frames to choose from. I happened to bring in my own frames, which wasn't a problem at all. I highly recommend this optometrist to anyway thinking of getting new eyeglasses, contacts or just to check your health. Thank you to the staff and Dr. You are all amazing! read more

The front office staff is unprofessional. Called to get my prescription sent over to me and this person took it upon herself to write across the entire thing expired. I'm going to say one thing about this place is they will rip you off. The lab they sent my new sunglasses to have prescription lenses in they broke. Then same lab put the oversized lenses in again which were so tightly put in my frame popped apart at the pool. So called canyon lake optometrist & they would not cover the cost to redo now the 3 rd pair of lenses. Charging me 85$.I called the lab and they don't charge this optometrist any$$ for it. So they would not I repeat not work with me after all the times going there wound up costing me 375$ after all said & done. The optometrist Steve Holmstrom would not even work with me after all this and had a very rude, an extremely I don't care ass attitude.i believe in great customer service & having repeat customers who are always satisfied. I needed to get an updated prescription and new glasses and I had a friendly and positive interaction with everyone from the reception desk, doctor, and getting my new frames. It was a great experience, I didn't have to wait, the doctor made me feel at ease, the staff members were helpful and professional. I am new to the area and chose this place because the location was nearby but my choice to go there was relatively random, so I am glad it was a good experience. I highly recommend them. read more

I've gone to this optometry place twice. Once when I first moved to Canyon Lake and once again last year. The first time, they were good but the last time, they had changed. The staff is friendly but their prices are through the roof. Last year, I got my exam and when I went to look at frames, the prices were real high. They had a set of Oakley Metal frames and the total price quoted to me was $500. I told them that I wanted to see if I could get the frames for less. I got a set of frames from eBay for less than half of what they wanted and when I went back to get the lens' put in them, they told me that it was going to cost $700. The price went up $200 in less than a week. When I inquired about the price increase, they said that is what they always cost. That was the last time I'm setting foot in that place. Good service is one thing but the expense left a real bad taste in my mouth. read more

Last week had eye glasses appt- eye doctor really nice. Went over to select my eye glass frame, I selected the Black Prada frames very excited about them paid over 300 dollars for them, customer service rep explained to me that they would call me when glasses were available for pick up I agreed, a week went by rep called me to pick up glasses I walked in with my contact lenses on that I also had purchased from Canyon Lake I tried glasses on looked at the glasses and realized glasses had been completely worn out! I asked csr why are you giving me used glasses she stated "we give out the frames that are out on the floor, we give out test frames but I can order you brand new ones" I'm like what the hell!!!! Why would I pay over 300 for used frames/glasses!!! She agreed and said I will call you when new ones are ready. Thank God I had my contact lenses on to see that they were old frames!! I will never come back here!!! Now I have to wait an additional week!! Awful service! read more

This was such an amazing experience - Dr Holmstrom gave such a thorough exam/prescription- I am so happy with the results, but what also I appreciate, was Carlos in the eyewear room! Wow, I let Carlos pick the style, and it really was the absolute perfect pick. For being my first pair of glasses- and the compliments, was worth coming back a few months later to buy a second pair. Carlos really knows what he is doing, and I suggest you request him, for picking styles. Just ask him - and bet you will be happy. First visit with Dr Holmstrom today. My boss referred me and it was time to find a new eye doctor. I was very happy with my visit and the customer service. Dr Holmstrom even suggested a cheaper contact lens I could purchase from the same manufacturer Proclear! I had been buying the more expensive Proclear contacts through my eye doctor at Kaiser. I was never told that Proclear even made another type of contact lens. I have bad eye allergies so I need to be careful. I appreciated the honesty from Dr. Holmstrom. read more

This is a small office, located in a shopping center. The decor inside is modest. They are definitely not the fanciest of places, which in my option is great. They are small enough that they still care about each patient, and give service accordingly. The front staff is very friendly, and helpful. The doctor is also very friendly. He listens and he doesn't have bad breath. I know that's a bit random, but an eye doctor is in your face, you want them to have good breath. My last doctor was an obvious coffee drinker (gross). The people that fit you for glasses/contacts are helpful too. Because of their attention to detail in speaking with patients, I have had to wait for someone to be available for about 20 minutes before. I think this is the ultimate review I can give though... I went there, and saw the doctor. I was so impressed and at ease with their practice that I made an appointment for my 3 year old daughter. I trusted this doctor with my kid. And he was very sweet to her. As far as the other reviewer saying about the prices I can't really speak to that, because we went through our insurance. read more

They say they open at 9 am on Mondays but that is false advertising. I was there waiting and was told to the doctor doesn't come in until 930 am. I was told to come back at 10 am without an appointment since they would be slow today. So I returned and waited another hour in the waiting room. I was told it would be an additional half hour waiting time so I left. They wasted 2 hours of my time without even seeing a doctor. Go somewhere else. read more
