A few weeks ago I came home to find that my female cat wasn't eating, drinking, or putting any weight on her front right paw so I took her to the emergency vet in La mesa. High fever, 12 hours of waiting, and a few X-rays later and all they could tell us was it might be a fracture but they can't tell and sent us home with some pain meds and was told to wait and see if she improves. Nothing worked. She still wasn't eating, drinking, or walking and I could feel the heat radiating off of her so I took her to lakeside veterinary hospital where thankfully they had an opening that day. The La mesa hospital sent over her records and Dr Dixon was able to review them. Her temperature was still high and we were surprised the La mesa vet didn't address it at all. Dr Dixon and his team took some blood work and gave her 2 weeks worth of antibiotics, different pain meds, and a daily vitamin liquid and in less than 24 hours she was back to normal. A complete 180! The questionable fracture turned out to be a soft tissue infection. I will forever be grateful for the amazing treatment provided by Dr. Dixon and his team and won't take my animals anywhere else. I have provided a picture of my sweet girl at the vet and one taken later that day.

Really good experience and customer service. We were able to get both of dogs taken care of within an hour of calling for a walk-in

For weeks, I had tried everything I knew to help ease her irritation--scratching nonstop, patches of missing hair, clearly miserable. Nothing was working. A close friend highly recommended her veterinarian here and loved them so much that she insisted on calling to see if they could squeeze Sasha in. To my surprise (and huge relief), I was able to get a same-day appointment within the hour--which felt like a miracle. When I called, I spoke with Jerry, who was incredibly patient and kind as I explained everything I was seeing with Sasha. She reassured me and let me know Sasha would be examined by Dr. Luken, which immediately put me at ease. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted--and yes, Sasha too. Despite everything she had been through over the past few weeks, she was so excited you would've never known how uncomfortable she'd been. That alone says a lot about the welcoming environment here. One of the coolest surprises? They truly treat animals of all kinds. While waiting, I saw a bearded dragon (which honestly felt mythical )--like an iguana/lizard mix straight out of Australia. It was gnarly in the best way and reassuring to know this hospital is trusted with such a wide range of animals. You can absolutely rest assured your pet is in good hands. Sasha was promptly examined and given a clear, thoughtful treatment plan, including a shot, medication, and a prescription. Everything was explained thoroughly, and I never felt rushed. The staff here is beyond amazing--kind, warm, and genuinely caring, like family. I'm honestly not sure why this place doesn't have an even higher score, because they truly deserve it. I highly recommend Woodside Animal Hospital. They treat your fur baby like their own, and that kind of care is priceless.

When I picked him up that afternoon I asked should he not have a prescription for antibiotics? The answer was Doctor did not think he needs them. Really? A surgical procedure is done no antibiotics. I then asked should he not have a cone to keep him from licking or biting at the surgical site? The answer was Doctor did not think he needs one. Really? Two days later he has a ragging infection, sutures had popped open and skin in the surgical site area had died and was black. I take him back and they prescribe antibiotics and I am given a cone. To little, to late. And to add insult to injury I was told the dead black skin was a normal thing and it would just fall off. BULLSHIT! I took him to real vetrinarian where it was diagnosed that he had a full body infection, the surgical site had to be debrided. Once he was stabalized with antibiotics several days later surgury was scheduled to amputate his tail. So because of the lack of personal and professional skills a simple procedure that originally cost me 900.00 ended up costing me 5,000.00 to save his life. Just as painful ,no demonstration of empathy let alone an apology from the hack Janet Loken at Woodside Animal Kill Hospital.

I was told it would take about two weeks for them to return Maggie's ashes. After not hearing from them for 24 days, I called them and asked where Maggie's ashes are? They told me they could not find my profile and didn't know where Maggie was. My heart sank. The person I talked to said he was driving and needed to get back to the office to do some research. About an hour later I received a text and that they found my profile but were waiting for a callback with a status update and would get right back to me. I waited an hour and a half and texted "It shouldn't take this long. Where is Maggie?" I got no response. I waited a couple minutes and texted "What's the name of the crematorium?" I got no response. I waited another 20 minutes and again texted "What's the name of the crematorium?" No immediate response. 1 hour later, they finally texted me with the name of the crematorium and said the office had received Maggie back on 2/14/24, 10 DAYS PRIOR! They said they texted me on 2/15/24, sent me a snip of the message, and asked me to verify I received it. The message was never sent to me. They informed me the "delivery technician had an incorrect number" and "this explains her inability to get a hold of you and for you not receiving texts. I have made the correction and apologize for the inconvenience of Maggie's urn not being delivered much sooner." INCONVENIENCE! I had Maggie for 20 years. It wasn't just an inconvenience, this caused me distress! Furthermore, they after researching the location of Maggie's ashes, after not getting a response to the text, the technician took Maggie's ashes home. No bother to try and contact me again! I call this incompetence! They had my address because they came to my home to perform the procedure. Why not just come to my home and ring the doorbell? This caused me a lot of heart ache. Then this September 2025, my dog Bella became acutely ill. She was diagnosed with cancer. On the evening of September 26th, Bella's condition declined rapidly. She was in a lot of pain. It was her time. I called Dr Mesa out to euthanize Bella. I gave them my address and my phone number. I took Bella out to the front lawn she loved so much and she collapsed there. Dr Mesa arrived a short time later. It was quick. Within 15 minutes, the procedure was over, our time with her was complete, and Bella was taken away. After recounting the awful distress we went through with Maggie, the following morning, I called Dr Mesa's office and asked them to instruct the crematorium to call me when Bella was ready for pickup, that we would pick up Bella ourselves, and asked for the name of the crematorium. After not hearing back for 20 days, on October 16th, I called the crematorium. They told me they were instructed to deliver Bella's ashes back to them and that they had done so on October 6th, 10 DAYS PRIOR! I asked them where they delivered the ashes to and was told to their home office. They had Bella's ashes in their home office for 10 days! In the same community I live in, and couldn't bring her home to me? Again, I was distraught. I thought, "did they misplace another of my pet's ashes"?! I proceeded to call Dr Mesa's office number and demanded to know where Bella was. Again, I was told he was driving and needed to get back to the office to determine where she was. About an hour later, I received a call back saying they knew where Bella was and that the delivery person had texted me on the 6th when they received Bella back, but that they didn't get a response. I was told that it is not uncommon for people to be unresponsive. WTF! Just maybe they are texting the wrong number like they did to me TWICE! I can see waiting a day or two, but most people who request ashes to be returned are waiting for those ashes to come home for some closure. I spent three weeks in distress, walking past Bella's room and her bed with her not in it, waiting for some peace. It should have only been 10 days. Don't call Dr Mesa's office. Find another mobile vet. They're not compassionate enough to understand that their lack of "give a crap" causes people a lot of pain. I gave them the chance to make corrections, and they did nothing to improve. We won't be calling them again.

I thought I'd try this place out and see what their prices and service were like. I have a vet for my other two senior cats, but I`m willing to shop around. I showed up on time and checked in. The front desk person seemed disorganized and not friendly. It felt a bit chaotic in there and it wasn't even busy. How is that possible? I gave them my coupon and waited to be seen. Waited, waited, waited. That wasn't a big deal. I have patience and I understand stuff happens. Finally I`m called back and the vet assistant is also not really friendly but I stick with the appointment. She weighs the kittens and looks over them. She tries to sell me on their pet wellness plan for kittens, which is actually quite expensive compared to the insurance I got. I didn`t want a sales pitch right away. Then she said the doctor would be in. More waiting. More waiting. At this point, I thought about leaving because we were in there a LONG time. The doctor comes in and doesn't introduce himself, looks disheveled and a wreck. I am now committed to this appointment, so I let him look over the kittens. The first thing he says is, "yep those are kittens". Then he mumbles that he forgot something and leaves for like 5 minutes. I`m pretty much done at this point. He comes in and gives a quick exam, not really doing anything at all. He says they look good and that I should get some testing(not even sure what he said honestly) and that I could get that cheaper elsewhere. Then he leaves and the vet assistant comes back in, asking if I want to schedule their follow-up. No. No, I do not. I said I need to check my schedule and I`ll let them know. We go back to the waiting room and wait...and wait some more. Painful at this point. They give me that copy of wellness exam proof, but didn`t have any other notes(because the doctor DID NOT DO ANYTHING). They give me little baggies with some cat food and a key chain with their name on it. Then the vet assistant tries to sell me on their wellness package again and seems annoyed when I said no. If this visit is indicative of what it is normally like here...hard pass. I`ll go to my other vet and get my kittens established there. Oh, to top it off, they gave me a receipt that has their wellness fee($99) zeroed out, like they gave me $100 worth of service for free. I wouldn't have paid $10 for that "service". Eeeesh.

Dr Singh diagnosed him with pancreatitis and recommended two days of Iv fluids along with three days of panoquell CA-1 injections at a cost of approximately $4000, Mike was to take Tully home at 6 pm and bring him back at 9 am for the next two days By Wednesday morning when he brought him back his condition appeared to be worsening he was showing signs of pain, weakness and overall declining health. I accompanied mike that night we had asked several staff on Tulllys condition while waiting to see him, but none of them had seen him that day. When dr Singh came in, I asked direct questions about tullys worsening condition and that he appeared to be in pain. We felt that we did not receive clear answers regarding his condition, prognosis or pain management. Tully was so weak that his staff carried him to the car On Thursday morning his health had deteriorated so severely he could not lift his head and we could barely carry him to the car, so a staff technician came out to the car to administer his final injection of panoquell CA1. We showed her that he was trembling in pain and we were now offered pain relief in the form of an Iv injection of morphine. We were told dr Singh would come to the car to discuss Tullys condition, but that conversation never took place. Before leaving I asked what we should do if Tully was not improving by the next day, we were advised to take him to the La Mesa emergency hospital By Friday Tullys condition had become critical he was crying out in pain and we rushed him to the emergency hospital . Within about 30 minutes we learned how severe his condition had become. Mike was faced with the heart breaking decision to euthanize him because he was suffering and his prognosis was extremely poor. Losing a beloved pet is devastating. What has made this experience especially difficult is our feeling that we did receive clear communication about Tullys worsening condition, prognosis, pain management option, or when emergency care should have been sought. We are sharing our experience so that other pet owners will ask detailed questions, closely monitor their pets progress during treatment, and consider seeking a second option if their pets condition continues to decline
