I spent 5 years in Lakeview apartment (Unit #91) before moving out. I changed 2 apartment before this and lakeview became one of our favourite apartment. The management are really nice especially Michelle & Melanie (aka Nanny). The maintaince crew are very polite and helpful. If you raise any request it will be done soon. It's very kid friendly and has a nice landscape. There are two lakes inside the apartment which are maintained really well. My family really feel very safe living in this apartment. They also organize different events occasionaly and have DJ night & food stall etc. Its very conveniently located near to Bart and the Fremont Hub. Some reviews talks about the kids noises but for me it does not bother as I like living around families and kids will eventually play outside. If i will change my apartment then i prefer moving back to lakeview apartment again. read more

Lived here for 1 year and it was AWFUL! Horrible management. They do not care about their tenants. VERY RACIST! Laundry machines broken, cars broken into, packages stolen, nothing is fixed. They only want those with high income and with that high income you can easily move into a nice beautiful house in the valley and make BE SAFE, BE RESPECTED, LIVE IN PEACE. Been at Lakeview Apartments for a little over year now and I can honestly say this place has the best and most responsive management ever. Issues get addressed within 24 hours upon emailing and gets resolved within the next 2 to 3 days. In the first month of moving in, my refrigerator was having some sealing problems. I emailed management at 8PM on a weekday, Upon receiving my permission to enter the room without me present, the maintenance crew stopped by the next day and fixed it right away. This is also the only issue I had with my apartment. All the appliances come practically new and my room was also renovated prior to my move-in. The property also has a leasing office onsite 6 days a week for walk-ins and Sunday for appointments so they are readily available to address any concerns. There is always a security car patrolling the parking lots and plenty of parking for guests. The property has a gym, large pac-mac style pool, outdoor hot tub, and some pretty amazing views. Highly recommend for anyone who's renting for the first time and away from their family since the staff will definitely take care of you. :) read more

The next advantage at Lakeview Apartments is the high standard cleanliness, modernity and quality of the units. I have lived here for 3 years, Absolute third class apartments. Worst management especially the manager and an employee who works only on weekends, very rude. I always avoided visiting lease office because of these two persons. Zero security, My bicycles were stolen 2 times, tires stolen 2 times, my car sticker stolen and recently somebody broke gas tank cover and stole nob from inside. Police complaint for such small things is not going to help. CCTV camera never works. To avoid such incidents All neighborhood societies have constructed boundaries and our Management can easily afford gates or boundary wall but they don't care. Besides big security issue, Low quality reflects in everything e.g. apartment doors, locks, closets, kitchen cabinets, especially dishwasher extremely low quality. These people make sure to install lowest quality to save their cost and show off good balance sheet to owners. Road inside the apartment is broken, laundry machines are out of order most of times. I make 100k+ , great credit and got denied along with a lame reason and tbh, i believe it has a lot to do with my race (i am Hispanic) . The apartments are in a good location but they charge excessive deposits and don't return the money back upon move-out. Charging almost $700 after the move-out is just crazy even with all the cleaning, etc. There are a lot of noise issues. They were doing some maintenance on one of the units right below us for almost 10 days causing loud drilling noises without even informing us and upon telling them about it, all they could do was to give keys of a community room so that we could work. Plus, there are a lot of kids around and there is usually a lot of noise. There are many good apartments in the area and I suggest you go and explore those before moving in here. read more

I have been living at Lakeview apartments for past 3 years. This place is quite a retreat that we sit and relax in our patio, relish the spectacular views, beautiful ponds and soothing fountains. I personally love these apts for its charming landscape and stunning sceneries. Situated at the hub of Fremont city, we have everything easily accessible - shopping centers, great preschools, grocery stores, cine-theaters and various restaurants. The great part is most of them are walkable too. Quick commute to BART and 880 makes our lives stress free. These remodeled apartments are good and large enough with all basic amenities. The staff and the maintenance are very friendly and highly responsive. We even have events happening once a while for many occasions like Christmas, Halloween, Diwali etc., with food and gifts. This community has all great features one would look for. Decent size gym, nice pool, Hot spa, club house and great ambience. The best part is my kid has a great time here, playing and interacting with lots of other kids living here. Especially in summer, it's beneficial that kids get to play in a park like area here without even going outside of our premises. I could say that this is the best apt compared to any others which are almost equally priced. The cons to be mentioned are the high rents which cannot be avoided in bay area, Vandalism and thefts happening around the area which has become quite common in every part of Fremont. I keep myself safe here by not leaving any valuables in car nor wearing any valuables. Finally I would highly recommend this place to everyone especially for those with kids. Rented here for about 2 years, ending in 2006. Management was comprised of miserable women in the office who cackled and reeked of smoke and made fun of you behind your back (but not so subtly that you didn't hear it unfortunately). Overall, just miserable. And, yes, they take more of your security deposit than is fair. But we were just so happy to be out of there we took the few dollars they gave back to us and ran. Also notable is the fact that this place is next to a vagrant hotel. Over the 2 years that we lived there, we had our cars vandalized twice and had another car hit ours and run. We also had a couple of guys living out of a van, sometimes in the parking lot, other times directly in front of our apartment. They did however leave a nice present for us when they moved on in the form of a few cups of urine left on the curb in front of our place. Thanks, homeless guys! And thank you, Lakeview Apartments, for such a wonderful living experience. Why the two stars instead of one? The inside of our apartment wasn't THAT bad. The carpet was ok. The heating system was old, but it worked. The fixtures were ok, too. Overall, the apartment itself was fine and the grounds were taken care of for the most part. read more

We lived here for 4 1/2 years. The negative reviews are not quite true. Yes, there is a vagrant hotel next door, but that matters only if one is trouble by it. My wife and my parents have come walking on many days after sunset or when it was dark and had no safety concerns. Yes there used to be a lady who was the manager who had a sharp tongue, but trust me, we never had a single issue with her. you will get what you give. Yes, she used to smoke a lot, so what? It is a nice place to live. Right in the middle of all types of shopping, cuisines and freeways. Management is very prompt at repairs, and after living there for 4 1/2 years, we only lost $150 from our deposit. If you go around breaking things, obviously they are going to deduct from your deposit. There were a couple of breakins to cars and homes, but that is going to happen regardless of whether it is gated or not. Overall we had a great experience. I have been living in the 38833 Bell St part of this apartment since end of June 2006 and I am very impressed with the views, space, greens inside and around the apartment. I took a 2 bed room single bath flat and I hope to live here next few years, if I am alive, until I buy a house myself. They have nice Gym, guest center, laundry, swimming pool faciities and a nice neighborhood. A lot of Indian IT professionals live in these apartments. If you want to rent, you have to go 1 or 2 months in advance otherwise you may not get any empty apartment as the demand in high now. Tenant since the last 4 years. Management does not care about residents and about security and are rude. Been through two thefts in the last week and my neighbors also reported that their car was broken into twice. Lakeview has been increasing rent every year and basically told me that they wouldn't increase security or monitoring in the property. We lived here for 4 years before moving out. The management and maintenance are both great. The unit is good for the price. We loved the landscaping here. It has a community environment that is great and family friendly. Fremont hub is so close by and makes grocery shopping so easy. Almost everything is in a walkable distance. I had a 1000 doller scootor and 2 pairs of jordans 300 each and a constructuon sweetshirt taken from the front of my unit litterally it wasnt 5 minutes that my wife put them outside my unit so i can pick them up. And when i got there to pick them up the items where gone my wife emaile management witch seed camaras didnt catch no1 take them and they claimed to have asked the maintness and groundskeepers if they saw or pick up the items witch both seed no at the time. And litreally 3 months pass we thought someone stole them. Come to find out one night i was walking by there storage and i seen my stuff i took pictures and then took my stuff and i emailed management notify them where i found my iteams and all they seed was they were sorry all of a sudden they for got they stored the iteams once i found them and gave me and entire fake store keep in mind i have emails of them telling me they spoke to maintness groundskeeper and no1 knew anything untill i found my iteams then an only then did they forget iteams where there and were so sorry but even then did they never take no action towards there maintness nor there groundskeepers for trying to steal my iteams they still work there and its sad how they deffend some people whose full intentions where to steal this iteams from me but yet never got fired for it. BEWARE DO NOT APPLY HERE SCAM I had a horrible experience with this company. My lease was coming up on my current place and I wanted to apply here. I contacted the office and did a zoom tour. I loved what I saw and wanted to move forward. They were very responsive and took my money gladly. I paid application fees and holding fees for the apartment up to $2,000 just for them to say DENY me for "credit" Lauren, one of the leasing agents and I were in communication for over a month and made it seemed like we had to the apartment. It is quite odd to deny me over credit after you told me weeks ago my partner's credit was already approved. I have to move out of my current place in two weeks and now have to rush to find a place to move to after dealing with these people for over a month. AREN'T THEY SUPPOSED TO RUN CREDIT FIRST BEFORE ASKING YOU TO PAY THOUSANDS TO HOLD AN APARTMENT. And don't get my started on this mysterious "main office" that makes all the decisions but I had yet to speak with them. They wasted my time and took my money. They need to change their application process this is bullshit. DO NOT APPLY HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE LEAD ON FOR A MONTH AND HAVE THEM TAKE YOUR MONEY! read more

I signed one year lease with those guys (and now it's almost up). Sad to leave, but my work commute is too long and only gets worse because the traffic is pretty bad on 880. But that's not related to apartments at all. Pros: - Conveniently located nearby Bart. 25 minutes walk, or 5 minutes drive. Bus stop is also right there. - Management is friendly. They are working on weekends as well, so it's always easy to reach them. They also quickly reply to emails, so for the person who hates calling it's great :) - Safe and family friendly. Also lots of light in the night. - Beautiful landscaping. I was attracted to this initially and I still like the small lake, fishes, fountain and the overall feeling of it. - Affordable. For the location I feel like it's good price. Not the great, but still very affordable compared to SF and other Bay Area - Jacuzzi, pool and gym. Not a luxury feeling, but there is a small gym, jacuzzy and gym. Enough to relax after work or on weekend Cons: - Kids are noisy. You will see kids all the time there and they might be noisy. I personally even like it, but sometimes it's annoying when you hear a kid screaming at the night. Also they ride bicycles on a sidewalk, which is also annoying. - Food smell. You'll hear the Indian food smell very frequently. Obviously, it's because there are many Indian families living. But that's the case with Fremont overall, so it was not a deal breaker to me. - Inability to pay rent online. I would like a lot to have ability to pay rent online, but probably I want too much. - Facilities closing at 10 pm. Unfortunately, I'm always feeling in rush with the laundry because I usually do laundry a bit late. But if you didn't took your closes by 10 pm, it will be just locked and that's it - you can only take it next morning. Same with the gym, sometimes you want to exercise late. It would be great if those things were closing at 11pm or 12 am. Overall, good experience so far. I will update the review when I'll see what happens with my security deposit and move-out experience overall. For now it's 4.5 stars I think. Would definitely recommend those apartment for someone who is looking family-friendly environment. Update: Fair amount of my deposit is returned. I have no complains. read more

SCREAMING KIDS all over the grass by the pool area EVERYDAY between 4pm-8pm. The management doesn't enforce the community rules, especially #3: "Bicycles, roller skates and skateboards are not to be ridden on the sidewalks, driveways or parking areas on the premises." These kids yell and scream for hours ridding their bikes and scooters, THEY FIGHT WITH EACH OTHER.... It's absolutely horrible. MANAGEMENT DOES NOTHING. I've been living here for quite a while now, the apartments are coviniently located accross the hub, right off the 880, very spacious apartments, staff is great...Apartments are clean, well taken care of...They have annual bbq for tenants, activities for the kiddos which is awesome, pool parties, halloween, laundry is large, gym is compact but works perfectly fine...Office staff has changed (because of the negative review down there) they are very kind and yes there is alot of children, but i mean kids are kids, its not that big of a deal, 100% recommended! read more

My husband and I signed a one-year lease with Lakeview Apartments, and now that the year is almost up, it is about time I write a review! We have had a really great experience thus far. Here are the pros: -- The apartments and grounds are well maintained. This complex is by no means new, but management does a great job with the upkeep. -- The bathroom and kitchen both feature granite countertops (which is in vogue now). When we moved in, the walls had been freshly repainted. -- Apartment management is very responsive to issues-- for example, a couple months ago, there was an odd buzzing sound coming from a fountain outside our apartment. My husband emailed management, and the very next day they responded saying they had a technician repair it. (Sure enough, the noise was gone!) -- The central laundry facility is very big-- it is easy to get 2 or 3 loads of laundry done at once. Occasionally, machines break down, but if you ever pay for a machine and it does not work, management will pay the $1.50 fee for you to use another machine. -- The pool/hot tub are well maintained. So is the gym (it's small, but I've never had trouble finding a treadmill/elliptical to use). -- Compared to the rest of the Bay Area, living here is very affordable. Typically, you can get management to waive the application fee. Our one-year lease was over $100 below the asking price on the website (probably because we applied at the right time!) We also got a sizable move-in bonus for the first month of rent. Here are the cons: -- It isn't a luxury apartment complex. If that's what you're looking for, you've come to the wrong place! -- If you're in a studio, like my husband and I are, lots of light tends to shine in at night, because of the large patio windows. We learned to get used to it, but if it is really an issue for you, you can always get thick drapes. -- When we first moved in, our apartment had a heavy, musty smell. Not sure if this is true of all apartments, or just ours. I did a lot of reading online, and was considering getting some chemical treatment. I decided to try leaving the windows open whenever possible to let air come through, and that actually ended up fixing the problem. The closet is still a tad bit musty, but it is no longer an inconvenience. Other reviewers have pointed out problems with Lakeview that do not seem to be relevant any more-- i.e. angry management. Working with Eric and Michelle (two current employees) has always been great. As for the "vagrant hotel" nearby, that hasn't been an issue for us. I always feel very safe here (and there is a number you can call for apartment security if needed). One reviewer was particularly upset by the loud children. If you don't like the sound of children playing in the background, this place is not the place for you. I personally am not bothered by the noise they make, in fact, I think it's quite pleasant to live in a complex with so many other families. So far, Lakeview has earned 4.5 stars, and I'm rounding up to 5! read more

This place is best for first time renting family in Fremont. It is just right across the fremont hub and you can just walk to get all groceries. It has a wonderful land scape. This place is not gated community and this caused lot of agony for many residents. Students with cycles come into the apartment and scare women and kids. Many car vandalizing events occurred. Apartment management has changed in mid of 2012 and every thing changed. They are pretty non responsive and do not care to listen to you much. They think because of the location people will come anyway. For almost 3 weeks in December 2012 many washers and dryers did not work. You would have to go and guess which o e will work. The maintenance has become bad. Many people are leaving to better neighborhoods. read more

I am a current resident who is moving out this weekend. I want to say that my stay here at lakeview apartments has been a good experience. I have been here for past almost 3 years and my stay here has been good. The grounds are quite nice with water ways and fish in them. The maintanence has been kept up good and apartment size is very nice for the price. It is a very open lage size apartment for my 2 bedroom 2 bathroom. People in the office are nice and very helpfull. I would reccomend this place. It is a very good location with being very close to shopping. read more

I do not know which planet the managers of this place come from. They never care about you. They even use the minimal wage raise as an excuse to increase rent. Within half year, they have increased my rent 200$ (close to 10%). Do they understand there are so many layoff happening around bay area? Even if we assume the highest minimum wage is 15$, one guy make 2400 $ (before tax). Can you believe he would be able to afford to live here? Plus, you need to pay internet, water, electricity, waste process fee, and tec. Never come to this place! read more

I advise renting here if you want to be screwed out of your security deposit, because that's what they did to me. I've only lived there less than a year and left everything in great condition. Tried to dispute with them but they are so reasonable. In addition, at 10pm-12am every night, management turns down the water pressure so you're left to shower from what seems like a drizzle of rain. It's terrible! So many tenants have moved out of this apartment that management is increasing the rent ridiculously. We had the worst neighbor ever. Every apartment is occupied by Indians and their 4 kids who constantly make so much noises. Also, the apartment always smelled like someone is cooking curry to feed the world. Urg. I lived in Lakeview around 7yrs, now I bought a house so I am moving out. I really enjoyed living here. My kid goes to Maloney School which is walk able distance, so convenient to all shopping place. Even when my parents came to visit us, they enjoyed living in this complex. We are so happy that we bought a house but we are sad to leave this place. I also referred my friends and co-workers to move here. I am going to have hard time finding good maintenance for my house since i am so used to Lakeview maintenance guys they are really prompt and efficient. I absolutely love this apartment complex. The community is a great place to be in if you have a family because there are many other children to play with & the community is large and beautiful. The management team is very helpful in my opinion. Coming from my last complex where the management would barely help you with any maintenance issues, Lakeview fixes things fast & are easy going about it. Whenever i have any issues i feel comfortable enough to just call up the office or walk down there to just simply ask & i am always given an answer! i definitely recommend living in these apartments! read more
