This was the worst experience/interaction that I've ever had at ANY dealership, and I have dealt with many. My husband found a specific color Mach-e with specifications he wanted at this dealership. He worked with a salesperson over the phone and through email the day prior to us arriving because we live 4+ hours away from lakeview ford/battle creek. We were assured that everything was ironed out, there were already X amount of rebates on the car and we had another personal mailer that we were told could be added to bring the price down further. We were told there is always room for negotiation, and that everything was good to go. Credit was run before we arrived, it should have been fairly straight forward, just going over last minute details and signing papers. We got there and that was not the scenario that was presented at all. After driving all that way with children, we were sat down while the sales person left us multiple times to go ask his sales manager or the finance person questions- which totaled 1.5 hours. At no point were we asked if we wanted a drink, a snack, anything to make the wait more manageable (which might sound petty, but I have NEVER been to a dealership, especially not Ford, where I wasn't asked if we wanted something to drink while we waited). It wasn't until just before the finance guy wanted to pull us into his office that he asked if our kids wanted something to drink. By this time we had been there for almost 2 hours. He proceeded to bring us into his office, rushing my husband through signing papers for a car that we haven't even been told the payment information for yet. He talked to my husband as though I wasn't even there. At this point I made it very clear how uncomfortable I was with the tactics being used. He was being incredibly pushy and condescending. "Well, this is to save time. I'm going over it with you now and you're signing it so it doesn't have to be done later. Just sign it, we're getting to that." okay, but I don't even know the specifics or cost of this vehicle yet, and you're trying to rush him through signing things that I've made it clear I'm not comfortable with? At this point he started talking to me like a child who was interrupting an adult conversation. He finally pulled out a paper that had protection plans and pricing on it which showed numbers that we never would have agreed to drive down there for. And when he was told that those prices were not something we were interested in and that our maximum budget for a vehicle was at least $25 less/month (really- closer to $50) than the lowest figure he looked at me and said "it's just $25... that a $6 cup of coffee per week. That's not a big deal. It's $6/week, are you following?" In what world do I as an adult woman, or my husband who is an adult man need this guy to mansplain how budgeting works or how I should work out my personal finances that he has no idea about. We have children, a mortgage, all of the bills that come along with those things, my vehicle and insurance to cover them. My husband was t-boned a week ago which totaled his car and now we are trying to figure out how to get another one, to be told that "just figure it out and budget better, $25/month over your absolute maximum shouldn't be such a big deal" by some scummy guy who talked over us the entire time and acted like we were too stupid to understand simple logic. For reference, I have a 4+ year degree. I'm a Registered Nurse and work with the public. I have worked in customer service and customer relations. This is not how you talk to or treat people that you are supposed to be providing a service to. I have never felt so disrespected and condescended by someone who was trying to pressure me into buying something from them in my entire life. Absolutely disgraceful. Complete waste of time, money, energy. Even though they tried to screw us out of being able to find another dealership with the amount of our time they wasted, they weren't successful. We went to another ford dealership (DeNooyer) where we were treated with respect, weren't talked down to or talked over, where they stayed late to help us work out a deal to get my husband into a new car that he could drive away yesterday. Most importantly, it's a vehicle that he loves. All of this occurred because none of the Michigan dealers with Mach-e that could be dealer traded would trade to my local dealership. Had one of the worst experiences of my life today at Lakeview Ford The Big Boss is a big ****. He treated me like I was nothing, made me cry. Saying "sounds like you have gotten yourself into a bind, you can't come in her telling us how much you want to pay, setting you bottom line, it doesn't work like that, you put high miles on cars you can't even lease a car because you drive cars into the ground" (I'm a home care nurse), I depreciate cars. Ended up they showed me two new vehicles and said they needed $10,000 down payment or a cosigner. When. I said I didn't have either, he escorted me to the door. WTH you'all called me! What? Best service ever. I'll only take my vehicles to this dealership. They are honest, don't run you up. Don't push services you don't need. I took my F350 to 2 other places in town. Nether of them could figure out what was wrong with it. Of corse they charged me a service fee for nothing. So I took it to Lakeview Ford, I have to say I was hesitant because most dealers have a reputation for making you pay an arm and a leg. They took a look at it that day. Explained what was wrong with it and had it fix by the next day. The price for the work they did was more then fare, I call around to other shops to see how much they would have charged for the same service. Scam artist. They won't honor their warranties. I had to raise hell to get them to fix a small dent that I purchased a warranty to cover. They sold me a car with 3 brand new tires and one old tire then tried to tell me I needed a alignment the first time I brought it in to get serviced acting like there wasn't a old tire that needed to be replaced on it. So right off the bat I had to buy two new tires. I just made a appointment to get the other 2 tires replaced and brakes replaced. They told me it was at 8:30. I showed up at 8:30 and they told me it wasn't until 9:45 and they only had me down for tires to be replaced!!!!! These people don't know what going on and will always be quick to charge you for extra things that you don't need. Also plan on paying more then what you would going to any other car shop. They over charge by anywhere from 25 to 50 percent of anywhere else. read more

Beware if you purchase from these people. I purchased a 2016 MKC still under factory warranty and I purchased an extended Lincoln warranty (which guaranteed a Lincoln loaner if getting repairs). I also purchased a 2nd key fob and Ziebart protection. From the day I brought the Lincoln home, it shifted HARD and would also shake when I put the car in reverse. I knew it was under warranty so I wasn't overly concerned. I knew that as soon as my schedule opened up in a week or so, I would get it in. My mother and girlfriend took it to the U of M for a medical trip. On the way back, the car lost complete power on the highway and we were very close to getting into a serious accident. I contacted the service department immediately and spoke with Clint. I was told that he had no idea when he could get the car in to be seen. Basically it boiled down to me insisting that he take care of this matter as a dealership should. Keep in mind I hadn't even had this $31,000 vehicle a month or so. They had the car for a couple weeks and I get a call from Clint telling me that all was good and to come pick her up. I picked the car up that afternoon and not even 24 hours later, the car lost ALL power and I had to limp it to the dealership, as it was after hours. This also was on the highway and could have been deadly. The next morning, my girlfriend and I went into the service dept. Clint asked what was going on and I told him about the transmission going out...again. He literally said "I don't know what to tell you". As we all just stood there looking at each other for several minutes, I broke the silence by asking him what he was going to do to get this taken care of. He acted like it couldn't be bad because they just fixed it the day prior. I offered for him to drive it and he stated "I really don't want to". Keep in the mind the service manager was there next to us. Not sure if she heard, but there is zero possibility she couldn't have known of our displeasure. Clint took us to Troy Bernard to discus options. Troy stated that they would take care of me and make this right. The next day, Troy was nowhere to be found (even though we saw him walking around the dealership), he avoided me like the plague. When we sat down to discuss options, the salesman that sold me this lemon, basically wanted to offer me $3000 less than what they charged me for the MKC. He had the audacity to tell me "well, it's not worth that much anymore". Seriously? You sold me a car with a malfunctioning transmission. I was also told that the transmission tech was on vacation for another week and a half. And at that point, it would have fallen under the lemon law requirements because it would have been in the shop for more than a month for the same problem, in the first year of ownership. I had put the money into the MKC for Ziebart protection and expected the same on the car they ended up selling me. It was not that simple. They would bring out cars that were not comparable to my MKC. If I wanted a car with a smaller engine and fewer options, that's what I would have purchased. I asked to speak to the manager, Troy, and we were never obliged. Basically, I picked out the MKC and I had to settle for what they had available. I love the Continental that I ended up getting, but this was the worst experience for car buying I have ever had. Allan Fernantt said that I should get the car fixed under the warranty. Well, that's great and all, but the service guy literally looked at me and told me he didn't know what to do. This instills zero confidence in Ford's ability to repair transmissions. When we brought the car in after it was "repaired", why was I treated so poorly? No concern or apology. I was treated as if I was being unreasonable. So basically, I ended up spending a LOT more, they didn't give me the trade in value of what I actually paid for their piece of crap. This isn't over. read more

I purchased my 2009 Mercury Mariner from their used vehicle department in 2012, and I still drive this same one today. I use their service department for scheduled maintenance and have always been happy with their service. They allow me to bring my dog inside the waiting room, which I like, as he frequently travels with me in my job. The few repairs I have had to do on the Mariner have all been done here, and I have found their prices to be in line with other shops in the area when I have done a comparison. I also like that they offer a shuttle service to and from my home or work for those times I needed to leave my vehicle with them for a morning or afternoon and get back to work. Their shuttle drivers have always been on time picking me up when they say they will. The staff have always been friendly and I feel that they do a good job with their attention to customer service. There have been a few times when I needed help with a minor problem, and I was pleased that the mechanic fixed it right there while I waited or showed me something I did not know about my vehicle. Overall I have been happy with them. My job takes me driving daily sometimes over a nine County area, so there are months that I put a lot of miles on my vehicle and their service department has always been swift and attentive in helping with any issues, and getting me back on the road. To me this is invaluable. read more

I had a bad experience with the used car sales department. I found a car online, test-drove it at this dealership, then called the salesman the next day to tell him I wanted to purchase it. He put me on hold, then came back and said another customer was looking at the car, and he would call me back. He called me an hour later saying the other customer bought the car. I continued shopping online for several days, and this same vehicle kept popping up on my searches, but with a much higher price than the original price. I know it was the same vehicle because I had the VIN. I called the salesman about it and he said the listing was a mistake. But a week later he emailed me trying to sell me the same car. Very Strange! Why did this dealer back out of my original offer to purchase? Possibly because 1) They thought they had set too low a price, or 2) I made the mistake of telling them I was paying cash (dealers make their real money on financing). Fortunately I found a better deal elsewhere. I never used to believe the clichés about the dishonesty of used car salesmen, but it turns out that sometimes they're accurate. Buyer beware! read more

Brought my 2006 Explorer in because it started misfiring and loss of power at high rpm, mostly when kicking it down to pass. Paid $105.00 for diagnose. Was told needed tune up. $480.00 dollars later was told It was actually the timing chain and the engine is now junk and needs to be replaced. $585.00 for them to figure what the real problem was. If I could give zero I would. My review is regarding the sales department only. We negotiated a deal for a new truck and bought it. Nearly two weeks later they contact us and tell us that we did not qualify for some of the rebates we were given when the deal was signed. After they cashed our down payment and our first monthly payment they told us we owed $2100 more and how would we like to handle that. I told them we both agreed to the terms and I owe nothing more. Also, during this time we never received our new plate which was paid for during the purchase. Turns out they made a mistake and wanted to re-negotiate the whole deal so they could recover from it. We went to the dealer to get our plate and they said we needed to talk before the deal was complete and before they would give us the plate. After some "discussion" and me demanding my property the owner stepped in and suddenly we were free to leave with the plate that they had been holding the whole time. No apology from the owner or any member of his staff. They fought with us over $2100 dollars. I own ten Ford vehicles right now, do you think I am loyal to Ford and might buy another someday?
