The house I recently purchased had an archaic water softener unit that did not work and deserved to be in the Smithsonian to be looked at for historic purposes. I reached out to Pure Tap at the recommendation of a co-worker. After calling them a representative was able to stop by and provide me with a quote. I had no clue what to expect, but for some insane reason I assumed it would be a couple hundred dollars to have the unit replaced. I was wrong and did not plan on having the work done due to pricing considerations. The representative was very knowledgeable and did not apply any sales pressure what so ever. In fact even after I said I was going to wait, he continued answering my questions and being helpful. After a little while of talking about the different systems, I decided to move forward and get the system installed and up and running. I have had everything for just over a month and have been very pleased with everything. It was a total breeze from start to finish, I was pleased with everything. I also liked the fact the owner called a few days after the install to follow up on everything and to make sure I was satisfied. I highly recommend Pure Tap, they took care of everything correctly the first time and I was pleased with what I paid for.

Then we searched for a plumber who could install it that same day. Evidently, not all plumbers will service condominiums, so it took a bit of calling around. St. Paul Pipeworks was able to fit us in the same day. Jason was punctual and friendly, and did an excellent job of removing the old toilet and installing the new one. The price was also lower than one of the other plumbers we had called. We will probably use their service again.

I had Affinity Plumbing come out for an estimate. I wanted to replace 2 original exterior faucet…read moreshutoff valves, a laundry tub faucet, 3 toilet tank intake valves, and a toilet shutoff valve. I also wanted to fix a slow laundry tub drain. I had originally planned to do the work myself so I have most of the parts. Their estimate was $4,375 for labor only. I figure it would have taken me about 5 hours to do this work when I was their age (I'm 72). That equates to $875 an hour for labor. My attorney only charged me $250 an hour last year. I will never use Affinity Plumbing for anything but bad jokes.
