He replaced the line that was leaking, but instead of just putting it back how it was (in an awkward position that possibly caused the leak to start with), he fixed the pipes so the water line would fit better. I reached out to Pure Tap at the recommendation of a co-worker. After calling them a representative was able to stop by and provide me with a quote. I had no clue what to expect, but for some insane reason I assumed it would be a couple hundred dollars to have the unit replaced. I was wrong and did not plan on having the work done due to pricing considerations. The representative was very knowledgeable and did not apply any sales pressure what so ever. In fact even after I said I was going to wait, he continued answering my questions and being helpful. After a little while of talking about the different systems, I decided to move forward and get the system installed and up and running. I have had everything for just over a month and have been very pleased with everything. It was a total breeze from start to finish, I was pleased with everything. I also liked the fact the owner called a few days after the install to follow up on everything and to make sure I was satisfied. We got quoted over $2,800 for a water heater or $2,600 if we got the service plan. It seemed high so I called the other company that I have also relied on for appliance and hvac. They were $1,749.51 (including tank, supplies, permit, labor, disposal and tax). I called the technician back from Sedgwick because I wanted to give them first crack at a price match (I frankly would have gone up to $2,000 to match because I like to give the business to good technicians who come right out and are so professional and good). He checked with the company and the company was unwilling to change. So, I went with the other company. For an about $1,000 savings I had to. I like Sedgwick and have had good luck with them in the past (as well as today with the technician - he was fantastic), but with this experience I would ALWAYS get quotes if considering them now.
