There are numerous reasons I have suffered under this Dr's care that I can't even think of them all. For one, he removed 2 of my bottom teeth to make them fit underneath the top teeth (I had an underbite) and he could not, for the life of him, close one of the gaps he created! So you know what he did? He just filled it in. So underneath the filling, there was just an empty space in my gum that finally closed with Adult Invisalign. There are a few other pockets that he created between my teeth that caused food to get trapped easier near my gums and cause major cavities. Two of which became necessary to do root canals. Now I have sensitivity in those teeth forever and goodbye another $2k for crowns. Secondly, I had to tell him to close the gap that he created between my two front teeth because he was going to remove my braces as they were lol. His response was "oh you want that closed?". Well yes lol. Thirdly, so many teeth were out of their correct alignment that it forced my bite to be open almost all around. I have had a bad bite for over a decade which I believe contributes to my chronic migraines until I finally decided to seek out orthodontic care again recently. After Invisalign for 2 years, my bite is still unable to be corrected without a THIRD round of braces. So here I am writing because I am about to spend another $5000 on braces as an adult because my teeth got so f***ed as a kid. So how much did I spend to fix his errors so far? Damn near $20k so far If you like sound decisions in your life, and save yourself, I would highly recommend not trusting this office! At all! At that age, any type of procedure is worrisome, so I had some trepidation. I called and was able to get an appointment quickly. Immediately after scheduling the appointment, they sent me a link which allowed me to complete all the paperwork online before the appointment. This was a huge help, since I had to complete them on my mom's behalf. I was also able to upload her insurance cards through their online portal, so once we arrived at their office, we didn't have to do anything except focus on the appointment. The staff was very friendly, and very attentive and patient (haha) with my mom, waiting while I repeated everything so my hard of hearing mom could understand. Dr. Yen is the type of doctor who instills confidence and makes you feel like you are in good hands. He explained everything clearly, allowed ample time for questions, and was very caring. At my mom's age, getting her anywhere is a big ordeal, so I appreciated Dr. Yen's willingness to do the surgery immediately after the consultation, saving me from having to bring her back. Hanh was the dental assistant, and she saw my mom was nervous so kept reassuring her. Hanh, Dr. Yen, and everyone else on staff was just wonderful. The word that keeps coming to mind when I think of the staff at Yen Oral Surgery is 'kind'. Yes, they are all very professional, and Dr. Yen is clearly quite skilled and the surgery went well, but I love my elderly mom and really appreciated that everyone was simply so kind and caring, for her nerves, her tooth, and her overall well being. Mom is recovering well, and I am filled with gratitude for Dr. Yen and his staff.
