Best momos in Austin! We have tried all the vegetarian momo options and we liked them all. Our favorite however is Chilly momos!

I will say they used spinach instead of bok choy for the vegetable but I was ok with that. The service is super fast, too. It looked like they expanded their menu since the last time we ate here. We opted for a Shoyu Beef Ramen Soup and a Hot Pot Beef Noodle Soup. We grabbed our water cups and a carafe filled with iced water from their beverage fridge, and chose our table to sit at. We chose a location away from the front entrance, which faces west towards the sun. Our food was quickly brought out to us less than 5 minutes later, and our soups were very good. They have a very spicy broth for their Hot Pot Noodle Soup, which P2 really enjoyed. I was also happy with my shoyu ramen, which I thought was seasoned perfectly. The music here wasn't loud and it was easy to carry a conversation. The interior aesthetics of this place reminded me of a Japanese restaurant, despite this restaurant servicing Taiwanese fare. Unfortunately, they don't sell alcohol here. I would have loved to drink a beer here with its solid vibes. I took off a star because of the blinding sunlight that pours into the space. Each time we came, we had to be strategic on where we sat so that we or our friends didn't have to face the sun. But other than that, Noodly Alley continues to be a reliable choice for authentic Taiwanese food.

We had never eaten here before. It's the closest Chinese restaurant to us. (Wok and Grille in Lago…read moreVista is closer, but after a change of ownership, the food quality there dropped to 'unacceptable.') I ordered Mongolian beef and my wife chose cashew chicken. I had a large hot and sour soup and an order of four vegetable egg rolls. The soup was good but I was disappointed there were no little chunks of pork in it. The egg rolls were the worst I've ever tried to eat, after requesting soy sauce and hot mustard, which should've accompanied this dish. They were previously frozen and gooey inside. Just awful. The beef was tender and the onions were cooked perfectly in my Mongolian beef, but there was barely any sauce. Same with my wife's dish: very little sauce. Neither dish had much flavor. My Mongolian beef was supposed to be spicy. There were three peppers on my plate, but it wasn't spicy at all. I had to drench everything with hot oil. The hot tea was too weak to drink. I'm 74 and traveled the country for 35 years during my career working for a Japanese company. I ate at least one Asian meal per week at a Chinese, Japanese, Thai or sushi restaurant. I also cook delicious stir fry dishes with scratch made sauces.

Everything was cooked fine, but overall the food just lacked flavor. The beef lo mein, in particular, was surprisingly bland, which was a bit strange. The orange chicken was also just okay but not memorable either. It made me wonder if it's more of a seasoning or ingredient quality issue. With so many solid Chinese food options around, this one didn't really stand out enough for me to order from again.

Yes, it's inside a gas station -- but honestly, that's part of the charm. The gentleman who helped me said I could call him Kanny he gave me his given name, but I was not sure how to spell it. He even brought my food to my car. He was very nice. Helpful in terms of giving me ideas of dishes that have been very successful. I ended up ordering a sampler. I was able to choose an appetizer. I also chose a curry then there was naan bread or roti. He told me the spice level would be somewhere between mild and medium at the baseline so I left it at that until I try their food . I really didn't want anything more than this samosas for lunch so I saved the bulk of the order for my dinner . My dinner was very flavorful. The Chicken Curry was tasty, the rice perfectly done. Light and not sticky at all! It was spicy. There was lots of bell pepper which provided some texture. I enjoyed it . The Naan didn't taste homemade- I'll have to ask if it was. Not as flavorful but it was good. Overall I enjoyed my meal and want to try more menu items. I'll definitely return!

It has been one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants-and one of the only places to serve the Vietnamese pancake that I love. I sat down, getting ready to contemplate the menu. I was shocked to see it was a brand new menu. I asked my server about it, and he concurred that it is a new menu, but that the owners had taken many of the former choices off. . NO more fried rice-always my grandson's favorite. Although I was disappointed when it was time to order, I chose the Mixed Protein Bun. I requested shrimp and eggrolls. It is a bowl filled with rice noodles, shredded lettuce, cucumbers, shredded carrots, and your choice of protein. It also comes with a generous portion of fish sauce. After one bite, I knew that the old chef must have left. My food was so bland. To start with, I don't think it was salted at all..... which quite often affects the flavors negatively. There were no other spices or sauce or anything tasty in my bowl. I was very disappointed. I didn't even eat a quarter of the Bun. I didn't take the rest to go and I won't be returning, unless I see that they have returned to their former style of cooking. So I'll definitely be watching the reviews. It makes me very sad to have to write a negative review, especially about a place. I have enjoyed so much in the past!!!
