Over the past month, I've been here several times and it never disappoints when it comes to classic street food and hearty meals. What to Order: The samosa, veg thali, bhel, poori aloo, aloo tikki ragda and last but not the least Churma ladoo are absolute standouts; and perfectly prepared every time. These dishes truly capture the flavors of Gujarati and Mumbai street food. What to Skip: Unfortunately, the Undhiyo and Indo-Chinese options are a letdown. The Undhiyo, in particular, lacked the authentic taste I expected from a Gujarati spot; mostly just green peas and potatoes, missing the complex flavors that make this dish special.

This new restaurant/eatery around the neighbor is our go to place if we have to eat outside and the comfort food. Their food is very authentic and gives a feeling of home cooked food. This place only serves vegetarian food. Everything is super fresh, and cooked to perfection with correct spices and spice level. I have tried this place multiple times now and have tried several items from their menu and let me tell you - everything is delicious and excellent ! Their Indo-chinese reminded me of the India days Soo good ! The basics like kadahi, roti, parathas are something which my mom cooks at home - not too oily ! Love their weekend Thali - a complete whole hearty meal ! I can't brag enough about this place and also the quality that is served ! The staff and the owners themselves are so generous , friendly and courteous! Can't go wrong with this place. It has a limited and small sitting area so something you might have to wait a bit ! Enough parking in the complex ! 100% recommend..

This is the kitchen/restaurant of the Dana bazaar owners and located around 10 shops away from grocery store. Good thing is you get 10% off after showing your Dana bazaar grocery store receipt. This place is only a couple of months old but has been able to get crowds on both weekdays and weekends. Dine in space is quite decent as well. They keep bringing different/special food thali's as well every few days. I've tried the hakka noodles and aloo parantha just around the time it got opened but wasn't much impressed. Noodles were ok, little bit oily. Parantha was not soft, separate layers. This Fri (4/7), my husband and I thought of giving it a chance again. We got aloo tikki, vada pav and Rajasthani Thali (special of the day). Aloo tikki was great, best part was tamarind chutney (red color that you see in below picture) and it was THE best. Vada pav would get 6/10 rating as vada was good, not too oily and spicy but somehow overall taste was lacking. Rajasthani Thali was above expectations. It had dal, 2 bati, gattq kadhi, besan ki sabji, churma, bajri ki rotla, garlic chutney, rice, salad, papad. Bati were fried but contain good amount of ghee. My personal favorite were churma and bajri ki rotla. Quantity is good for 1 person/2 person to share. Two chaats was ~$13 and Thali was ~$16 (price after 10% discount)

If you are yearning for quality, authentic and flavorful food that will give you nostalgia of India, this is the place to be. Order at the counter and wait for name to be called. The menu has most of the popular and essential options, all vegetarian. It makes a lot of difference if the owners are present and are running the show. Over all great experience.

Located on the right side of SummerMoon and Optimal Eye care! My friends and I went at 11:30 and customers were steadily coming in, many of which were Indian, perhaps those who are familiar with the similarly named Dana Bhazar market on the other side of SummerMoon. Dishes came out around 5-10 minutes later, hot and tasted great. Not pictured is the pani puri, which I had for the first time and loved it! The owner was friendly as well, chatting with some customers/recognizable faces and asking how our meal was! TLDR definitely worth a try, especially if you're in the area and even if you're from further away! I think the food quality makes it good competition for the area. 7 - 7.5/10 fabs

Quite a disappointment, in line with a sad trend of disappointing Indian restaurants in Austin. We were excited to see a new Indian place pop up the neighborhood, we are regulars at the sister-business Dana Bazar Indian Grocery store, and have been thinking of checking this place for a while. We excitedly scanned the menu and decided to order a Veg Thali, there wasn't any wait staff and it seemed like a self-serve model, but we didn't mind as we were excited about the food. Took about 20 mins for the Thali to be ready, which was a tad late considering its was early evening 5:30 pm or so and there was just one more customer on-premises. Finally, Thali arrived and we are excite to sample everything, first bites were not bad, considering we were starving for some time. But very soon the excitement weaned off. Though the selection of food on thali was decent, 2 veg curries, Rajma, and Gujarati style moong dal, the taste was all but missing. Rajma were cooked with minimal seasoning, kind of like Mexican refried beans, Dal was bland, Subzi full of oil. We had opted for Lachha paratha, which wasn't cooked enough, sections in the middle and side were raw. For a moment, we thought about reordering or trying something else, but decided against At that point , I had didn't have the patience to talk to the person at cashier, who again was waltzing between kitchen and cash, they seemed like short staffed. Went for Dal rice with pickles and made it a meal, followed by burgers from P-terry :) Overall, not impressed but hoping they up their game! I give 1 star, since it's in the hood, but highly doubt I'm going to try them again anytime soon.

5+++++++ Injera & Beyond blew me away...OMG!!! This was of…read morethe best 2026 dining experiences!!! Injera is great place to experience authentic Ethiopian cuisine. When you walk into the restaurant you are met with this warm and welcoming spirit. You literally feel like you are transported to a tropical rain forest - so much greenery and blossomed laden tree. Zuni, my server, led me to a table with a window view. Initially, she recommended the traditional Ethiopian meal (Doro Wot - National food of Ethiopia - slow cooked chicken leg stew with onions, berber, spices and clarified butter and boiled egg.) I thought that sounded good. The owner Mahelet greeted me so sweetly and warmly to welcomed me to the restaurant (she had greeting like an aunt or grandmother). She recommended a sampler plate of lamb (one of my favs), chicken and beef (not a huge beef eater). This meal reminded me of Nigerian meals where you eat with your hands. Injera means bread. However, don't think of traditional sourdough or wheat bread. Injera has a unique texture - how to describe it - it's very porous with a spongy feel, soft with mellow taste (super unique.) It was served as a plate charger with stews placed on top of it and a side order of injera was also served. I absolutely loved it!!! It was like nothing I have ever eaten before. For those that may not know, Injera is traditionally made from teff flour, an ancient, naturally gluten‑free grain native to Ethiopia (contains probiotics), mixed with water and fermented for several days. This fermentation gives injera its flavor and airy texture. Mahelet said the "Beyond" in their restaurant's name stood for unity, togetherness and beyond the bread. Did you know chicken was the national meat of Ethiopia? I did not either until today. All the meats were tender, which is kind of unusual since beef can me on the rubbery side sometimes. All the meats were fork cutting tender. The food was the standout. The stewed meats were served family-style on traditional injera, the spongy, tangy flatbread. The flavors were rich and well-spiced. The stews were hearty, aromatic, and appeared to be made with love. Portions are generous, enough for 2+ people, making it easy to share and sample a variety of dishes at one time. Excellent food...great learnings...new dining experiences!!!

I wanted to try the arepita appetizer which is normally served with shredded beef/pork or chicken on the side- to get a side of plantains instead of meat, it was going to add 3$ to the 14$ appetizer so I just opted to omit the meat all together and still had to pay the $14 ...which I don't feel is appropriate- people always wanna add money to sub a veggie for meat but never reduce the price when just removing the meat all together. Anyways, Ordered my food which was out promptly, the veggie bowl was delicious as always and the arepita appetizer (no meat) was good- reminded me of a fried potatoe cake, I used the arepitas as a vessel for my veggie bowl ! I brought the remainder of my bowl home where I bit into something very hard , once pulling it out of my mouth I discovered some beef snuck it's way into my dish- disappointing forsure but it is the first time out of about 10 times this has happened here. In the style of Anthony Bourdain because....it was THAT good: I went to a Georgian restaurant…read morebecause I like wine and make poor decisions around bread. This is how these things start. First comes the wine flight -- amber, gold, pale straw colors catching the light like old varnish. Georgian wine doesn't taste "new world." It doesn't even really taste old world. It tastes ancient. Mineral-heavy, floral in places, a little funky, unapologetically alive. Like somebody buried grapes in the earth a few thousand years ago and decided modernity was optional. Then the khachapuri lands. Not a plate. An event. A blistered, burnished canoe of bread carrying molten cheese, butter, and an egg yolk so offensively golden it looks fictional. Somewhere, a cardiologist wakes suddenly in the night sensing a disturbance in the force. You tear into it anyway. Because human beings were not put on this earth to refuse hot bread filled with cheese. The crust crackles. The center stretches and folds into itself. Butter disappears into the molten lake like it was never there to begin with. It is rich in the way only peasant food perfected over centuries can be rich -- not delicate, not curated, not interested in your wellness journey. Then come the khinkali. These beautiful dumb little meat purses filled with beef, pork, pepper, and scalding broth. There's etiquette involved. You're supposed to hold the top knot, bite carefully, sip the soup first. And for one brief moment everyone at the table becomes united by the exact same thought: "Oh, this is going to end badly." It's glorious. Broth runs down wrists. Black pepper hits the back of your throat. Wine keeps appearing. The room gets louder. Warmer. Looser. Nobody's pretending to be restrained anymore. And that's what I love about Georgian food. It feels completely uninterested in optimization. No tiny portions. No architectural foam. No chef explaining deconstructed emotions harvested from a local hillside. Just centuries of survival distilled into bread, meat, cheese, wine, and hospitality aggressive enough to qualify as a controlled substance. You leave full in a way that feels almost philosophical. Like maybe civilization peaked when somebody looked at bread and thought: "What if we filled it with molten cheese and handed everyone wine until they started hugging?"

Our waiter was very kind and patient to explain the menu since we never had Georgian food before. Unfortunately, all the beers we tried to order were out of stock and he was nice enough to comp it for my S/O. I opted for the pomegranate 75 and enjoyed it! Our appetizer was the beef khinkali and adjarian khachapuri. The khinkali is a dumpling that has a thicker dough wrapping compared to the Asian counterpart, especially at the top. I think I would give the beef/pork one a try before I say it's not for me. The adjarian khachapuri does come with a raw egg but the freshly hot bread and cheese will cook it and melt the butter. It's so creamy! The bread had a crispy outside and soft inside. They complimented each other well. The chakhohbili was simple but good. It was like a chicken and tomato soup. For some, it may be too plain but I felt like it's a good no frills dish. The shkmeruli was a little bland for us. It felt like the creamy version of the chakhohbili but somehow less flavor? Just wasn't for us :) I didn't want to order kebabs/skewers since I could get that anywhere but I'm interested in coming back to try their version!
