I tried the Ulavacharu soup--absolutely delicious. It's main ingredient is horse gram, which apparently is in the legume family. It wasn't like any soup I've had before, so description is a bit tough. It was fairly spicy to start with, but less so as I kept eating it. The only things I could identify was ground up horse gram, some sweet onions, and some thinly shaved ginger, but it had a lot of complexity. Highly recommend that and the rose milk (especially if you need some relief from the spiciness when you start out.) I had a little bit of my friend's butter chicken sauce, and that was excellent too. More heavily tomato-based than I'm used to, but a lot of depth of flavor. I'd happily order that in the future. I can't wait to come back and try their buffet when my diet restrictions are over :) Service was great. I asked if a few of the menu items have coconut in them since I'm allergic, and our server double checked with the kitchen for me and was very nice about it. Really pretty dining room as well. The location isn't as central as I'd like, but that does make it easy to find parking in the lot. Definitely recommend!

We ordered a variety of dishes to share, all of which had generous portions: - Aloo tikki chaat - prepared and served fresh, this street food delicacy was a delight to try and a great start to our meal. - Spinach pakoras were crunchy, hot and tasty. Our party of 4 devoured this appetizer. - Hariyali Chicken Kebab - this was not what I expected. It was served with a gravy like a curry, when I'd expected a dry kebab dish from the grill. It was not my favorite. - Malai Kofta - yum! Not oily, just perfect. - Aloo Naan - very good, though I would've preferred paratha and was surprised that parathas weren't on the menu in a Punjabi restaurant. Ambiance is nothing to write home about. If you are craving a good, authentic north Indian meal with warm service, Bayleaf is a must visit.

I had the jhol momo, chili momo, chicken chowmein, fried rice, and chicken thukpa, and everything arrived warm, fresh, and perfectly packaged for delivery. That's important since I did not want a mess all over the other food. The chicken thukpa soup was exactly what I needed-flavorful, spicy, and comforting with tender chicken and fresh veggies. As a soup lover, this hit the spot and quickly became my favorite item. The chicken chowmein, which I requested to be non-spicy for the kids, was packed with flavor and got their seal of approval. I decided to try the fried rice (mixed with meat, shrimp and veggies). I really liked the flavors and it's definitely different than other places who just throw soy sauce on it. Will get this again. The momos are always a winner here, but my personal favorite remains the chili momo-crispy, spicy, and just incredible. This food truck has earned a spot on my go-to list, especially for that amazing thukpa soup. If you're looking for bold flavors and warming dishes, you won't regret giving them a try!

I stopped at this food truck back in September and am finally clearing out my food photos on my…read morephone at the end of year and showing some love to some local businesses that deserve it! This food truck is located out of the way on an access road in between industrial businesses so you must actually be looking for this truck to find it as you wont just stumble upon it. Lets get to it! Chicken Tikka Masala Generally, tikka masala is made with yogurt marinated chicken. The chicken is then skewered and chargrilled, giving the meat an incredible charred flavor. A tomato and coriander sauce is common, but no recipe for chicken tikka masala is standard. Chicken tikka masala is similar to butter chicken, both in the method of creation and appearance. What is served here is a tikka masala sauce that is reminiscent of a classic curry-stand recipe. This is not haute cuisine; it's the kind of nuclear-orange tikka masala you crave when you stumble out of da club at 3 A.M.This dish has a punch that comes from a mildly spicy heat, but it's not extremely hot due to the creamy tomato sauce that balances out the spice. Butter Chicken Butter chicken is a type of curry made from chicken with a spiced tomato and butter (makhan) sauce. Similar to chicken tikka masala, the chicken is marinated for several hours in a mixture of lemon juice, dahi, Kashmiri red chilli, salt, garam masala, ginger paste, and garlic paste. The marinated chicken is cooked in a tandoor but may be grilled, oven-roasted, or pan-fried. The chicken on this dish is grilled. The butter chicken presented here has a velvety smooth texture and a slightly sweet taste. This is ideal for someone who is adverse to the spice of a tikka masala. Paneer Chili Momo I only had momos once before having them here. If you are like me the first time I tried these and want to know what the heck momos are: Momos are a traditional delicacy snack (Asian steamed filled dumpling) from the Nepali cuisine. Generally, momos are made with finely chopped freshly harvested vegetables with an option of minced meat. A momo is similar to Chinese baozi, jiaozi, and mantou, Mongolian buuz, Japanese gyoza, Korean mandu and Turkic manti. These momos are tender and have a bit of heat from the chili and a light crunch from the bell pepper and onion. Drunken Noodles These drunken noodles aren't spicy like the traditional Thai drunken noodles but yet more mild in flavor, which is surprising as the reason they are called drunken noodles is due to the dish's reputation for being a popular late-night street food option that packs the heat. There are variations on the recipe, but there are some ingredients that are usually included such as Thai basil, vinegar, chili peppers, and peppercorns. This dish had all the standard ingredients but not the heat. The dish is filling and flavorful and will pair well with a nice cold beer. For those who do not indulge in libations, a mango lassi will do. The people working at this truck went out of their way to make sure that Thing Two and I were pleased with our meal and offered the momos for free because of the extended wait time for the food (color me impressed). There are tables in front of the truck where customers can wait for their food. Thing Two and I enjoyed our mango lassis at one of the tables while we waited. Overall, this truck is a great addition to the Pflugerville area and should be visited if in the area. #supportlocal

She got out and came to the front to talk to us about what the items on the menu are and asked what we like to eat and gave us suggestions on where to start when we asked what she recommended we order for our first time at their truck. We ended up ordering Masala dosas(crepe-like with masala filling, not spicy, large serving size), Pav bhaji (if you like spicy I definitely recommend this one, it's like a vegetable curry that comes with toasted buns), and the Mango Lassi(a traditional Indian yogurt smoothie). This was the perfect order size for 2 people to share a dinner or one very hungry person. They have decorated their area in the food truck park with plenty of seating with clean picnic tables and lots of hanging lights and plants. It's a very cozy setting and there are places in the shade to enjoy your food right away. I'm really happy to have a Northern Indian cuisine in Hutto and especially another food truck in the "food truck park" that has mostly been empty all year. I hope they stay and we'll definitely be back to try more of the menu soon!

One of the most memorable dishes we had was a special that our server highly recommended--and it was truly a showstopper. I wish I had gotten the exact name because I can't find it on their online menu, but visually and flavor-wise it was stunning. It came wrapped and cooked in a banana leaf, layered with rich, velvety saag, what tasted like thin dosa or chapati layers, egg, aromatic spices, tender chunks of meat, and curry, all melded together into this beautifully perfumed, steamy package. It was served with a cooling yogurt sauce and a chili sauce that balanced the heat perfectly. The presentation alone was gorgeous, and the flavors were deep, earthy, and incredibly comforting. We also ordered the curry goat, which was delicately spiced with a wonderful, slow-building heat. The meat was tender, the gravy rich without being heavy, and it paired perfectly with the simple white rice that let the complex spices shine. The tandoori goat chops were the family favorite by far. Everyone loved the smoky char and bold marinade. Personally, I found them a bit softer than I prefer, but the flavor was outstanding--robust, well-seasoned, and unmistakably tandoori. Finally, we ordered the Tandoori Pomfret to go, and I had it later with rice porridge. It was absolutely scrumptious. The fish was fragrant, beautifully spiced, and still juicy, making it the perfect comfort meal with the warm, soothing porridge. Overall, Subham Chettinad Grill delivers authentic, soulful Indian cooking with layers of spice, heat, and aroma that feel both traditional and thoughtfully prepared. If you're looking for real South Indian and Chettinad-style flavors in Austin, this place is a must-try.

Comments for individual dishes: Vada pav - Not served with Mumbai pav but slider buns which is as unauthentic as can be. Sabudana vada - Crispy, tasted good, served with sweet yogurt. Pithla bhari - The worst I have ever had. Pithla was too runny, bhakri was downright stale/unedible. Pomfret fry - Fish skin was burnt, but taste was better than some of the other dishes. Puran poli - It was super thin, barely any puran filling and seemed to have been served after quick heating rather than fresh, the edges were unedible. Saoji chicken curry - Too much garam masala Triple Schezwan fried rice - This was the best dish among all those we ordered. It was served with manchurian gravy.
