Amazing! With less than a week's notice Capital Movers found a way to fit me into their schedule. Early Friday they came and started right to work. There were two pieces which needed disassembly to get down the stairs. It wasn't bad enough that the stairs were narrow and had a low ceiling but also the landlord thought it was wise to paint the stairwell the day before. Moving can be a time fraught with anxieties about the place and furniture you've come to rely on and care for. Their calm diligence was reassuring from the start. At the house there were many additional boxes that had to go to the second floor and they adapted without pause. Their truck was pristine with everything loaded orderly in it's place so as not to be damaged. You knew that someone who cared that much for the tools of their trade would care for yours as well. Great job moving into 2nd floor apartment - no one likes stairs, but they did without complaint.

These guys are amazing! I needed help getting an extremely heavy pool table moved from my garage to a room upstairs. From the onset, Tom was great. He was very communicative about the schedule - even trying to squeeze me in as early as possible. As we zeroed in on a date, he kept me in the loop every step of the way. I didn't need to track him down like I have had to do with movers in the past. When they arrived, they were punctual, courteous, careful, and thorough. Saying they are full service would be an understatement. Tom and his partner did everything possible to protect not only the table being moved, but my home as well. The path was pre-planned and the team was insightful enough to prepare pads and blankets at all the key areas where the item needed to be laid down. I could tell I was watching true pros at work. They know what they are doing! Once the table was laid down in the right spot, Tom even offered to help me get the legs on and set it up, which was totally above and beyond what they were there to do. They even wanted to make sure it was perfectly lined up in the room. I was incredibly impressed by this level of detail and service. Overall, Capital Movers is fast, friendly, efficient, and careful. These guys were so unbelievably good when it came time to make the long distance move from Brooklyn to Albany. Communication at first was a little hard but Tom actually went above and beyond to move some things around to get us all set up. When the guys came down, it was a week after the big blizzard in NYC, so getting around was a bit rough, but these guys didn't blink. We also probably had about 10-20% more than we thought we did and the guys just kept at it. Seeing them pack the truck was like watching a real life tetris game. After the drive up, they loaded everything into our living room per our request, took a well deserved beer break (it was the least we could offer) and they even gave us some recommendations on where to get some dinner. I was able to schedule a move during the busiest time of year. They arrived on time and moved quickly and efficiently. The two main guys were great but they brought a younger guy (teen?) who was a bit unenthusiastic and not a very hard worker and charged me for three moving men instead of the two I booked - fortunately we were able to come to a decent compromise. There was a tiny bit of damage to two of my old wooden dressers which disappointed me but it's not like they were antiques or anything, and I didn't ask them to take special care of them. They were great at letting me sit back and direct the action and they set up my bedroom completely so I was able to have a good night in my new place. read more

He called me back very intermittently, and could not give me any feedback regarding the dates I requested, as he had to "look into it."He told me he would call back, and get in touch with me, multiple times, regarding what he had available. I called and left several messages. About 5 days had gone by with no response. This company is very hard to get ahold of. We went with a much more reliable company that had an extremely quick response for all of our needs. read more

Exceeded our expectations. We called Tom 3 weeks before our move set up a quote and date and time very easily. Similar to another complaint below, I have experienced extreme delays in communication with this company. I submitted a quote request phone call on their website which was never answered and was called back 3 days later. I called the guy back to begin the booking process even after I had received other quotes and he said let me call you right back and never did. Called again today and left a message to no response. Guy that answered the phone turned us away from using this company. Got a rate. Got a time. Couldn't get an email. Have no idea why but couldn't get him to send me one. All I wanted was the time and rate in the email. He asked why? I told him my girlfriend wanted to see it. He said "OK, just forget it then." I said what and he repeated his statement. Was very pleased with this company. They did a short notice (one week) local move of the contents of a three room apartment. Three guys and a truck. The price per hour was competitive and had a minimum charge of three hours. They called the day before (as he had promised) to confirm. I have used Capital Movers twice and been very satisfied with the service both times. They return phone calls in a timely manner, call to confirm details the night before the move, and show up on time. They were also careful with my things and everything got from Point A to Point B safely. They do have a minimum number of hours that they charge for, so be aware of that if you're moving a studio or small 1-bedroom within the same city. I highly recommend Capital Movers! They are fast, efficient, and professional and all around nice guys. They do require a 2 or 3 hour minimum, so make sure you have a lot of stuff to move before you hire them. Their rates are reasonable and they work around their clients' needs. We used these guys for a move from Albany to Altamont on the very first snowy day of December. The weather didn't seem to bother them or slow them down. They showed up on time, worked hard, and even though it took two trips to get everything, I felt like they maximized their time and were very careful with our things. Fantastic group of guys! My wife and I hired Tom and his crew to move our packed house from Delmar to Duanesburg. They showed up on time and ready to move! The crew quickly and efficiently emptied out the house and had us all moved into the new house in no time at all! Overall a good experience. They were so quick which was nice. Was able to move from an apartment to a house in about 3-4 hours. The only complaint was that we requested 3 people and they said day of service " oh I got a 4th guy". Well they were also charging us extra for that 4th guy. That was kinda frustrating.
