Another great stay in the books. Quiet off season. Pet friendly. Repeat customers here. Will be coming back.

Wonderful Pet Friendly Inn - easy access to Hyannis but feels like you are in another world! Gracious and accommodating Hosts - Ali and Tommy make sure you feel welcome the minute you check in! Doesn't hurt to own a Pomeranian as they own a beloved 14 year old Pom. They sure made my Pom feel at home Breakfast is served in the Sunroom - you will love the fresh assortment of fruits and home made goodies with homemade jams and jellies. Ali's "famous" granola is extra special! Treat yourself to a stay - The Innkeeper's Pride is spacious and so private with a a beautiful wood burning fireplace and a huge deck overlooking the tree lined rear yard - perfect for traveling with your Pet. I can't wait to visit again!!

    Good rest

We wanted to visit Cape Cod in September, Farmers Almanac predicted one of the worst storm seasons in many years back in July when I started my search. I was searching for the oldest standing Inns that had weathered many storms. i love the history of Cape Cod. The original parts of the this Inn date back to the early 1700's, giving me a feeling of safe harbor. By the week before, the fifth category 5 hurricane of the year was headed north. Kudos to Farmers Almanac. I almost cancelled because of all of the hurricanes. However, I chose the Lamb and Lion Inn mainly because it had the greatest reviews, and after talking to Eileen, her calm knowledge of Cape Cod weather convince us to come. She predicted that Maria would hit cold water and lose power, she was right, and the weather was a fantastic 75 to 85 degrees nearly our entire stay. The best vacation weather we had found in years. Although the Inn has fireplaces in all rooms, it stayed perfect weather, too warm for fireplaces, no need for the AC. Eileen did everything in her power to exceed the reviews that I had read. We found ourselves wanting to return for vacation with our family even before we had to leave. The feeling is more like visiting distant family that it is like staying at an Inn. They are super conscientious of dietary needs. The rooms have a great variety of options, including kitchenettes, jacuzzi tubs, private decks, and the barn is a fun and funky large family space with a suite of armor! Every room/suite is a little different. I chose the calm masculine one to suit my husband. Visit their website and make your reservations directly with the owners so they can match the rooms or suites to your specific needs.

I must admit that there is a complete disconnect between my experience and the strong reviews and awards I've seen all over the internet for L&L. Kudos for receiving 5 stars on Yelp and Trip Advisor. However, my experience and perspective is a bit different. Check in at the office brought me into an room (or let's say workspace) that seemed to be of someone who could definitely benefit from a professional organizer. Papers and books and things were crowded/stacked into a small space. But hey, let's not judge by their personal space and get to the Inn. I was given an orientation and brought into the main communal area. The halls and communal area were not air conditioned...which was aligned with their self-admitted environmentally conscious style. Good for them...not so much for these guests during an especially hot day. That being said, bonus points for the cute lamb and lion prints on the walls of the main entrance. The remaining hallway walls were hand-painted amateur-looking New England themed murals ...boating, sky, clouds, etc. that looked like they might have been drawn by a middle-school student. View attached pictures and you can see that the room entrances/halls looked like something you might see in one of those pop-up haunted house tours around Halloween. As for the rooms, they were furnished with outdated furniture, carpets, and accoutrements. Didn't quite have that "whimsical" feel that they were going for. I would expect that a New England B&B should either have a classic/ traditional New England experience or the other extreme of Modern New England (e.g., they could take a lesson from the Cottages at Chatham Bars Inn. Their playbook seemed to work). L&L rooms were more like 1970s leftovers. The room had a custom prepared three-ring notebook with an overview of the Inn/Owners (with self-congratulatory comments)/Surroundings/Things to Do/Restaurants, etc. However, it was also a very amateurish frayed school binder...feeling like it was prepared in an afternoon with a Staples-run to buy a some sheet protectors. Not especially classy. But after reading the binder, I'm fairly certain the owners aren't really going for classy...one example being their continental breakfast. It might be more accurate to call this place a "Bed and Continental Breakfast", as breakfast was very minimalist. A bit surprising since "breakfast" is supposed to be one of the mainstays of a Bed and "Breakfast". No? In their defense, they call themselves an "Inn". Their standard fare was bread, cereal, hard-boiled eggs, oatmeal, and fruit. There is the option to upgrade and pay for additional items. Additionally, there was no place to eat. The owner's spin is that this experience is meant to be low key...e.g., bring it back to the room, eat at the pool, sit on the wicker chairs, etc. I prefer to eat at a table like a grown-up. Getting back to the A/C, our room had a window a/c with an additional floor-standing eye-sore of a fan. However, they weren't turned on until we entered the room. Which was a bit stuffy w/o any circulated air. We were instructed to turn off the A/C if we left for the day...or else the staff would do it for you. The later was done in our case, which didn't bode well for the chocolates from the local Penny Candy store that I left in the room. The hangers in the closet were annoying and old security hangers that you had to fidget with to snap back into place. There were some insects here and there which i guess is to be excepted with the screened-in hallways. But, when you add up this experience and have a month fly out of your suitcase when you get home, it can be a bit disconcerting, leaving one feeling skeezy, with a need for an urgent laundromat run. The bedding and linens situation also surprised me considering the owners have so many years in the hospitality industry. We were not given fresh towels every day. I'm sure it was another environmental decision, but it might be better if you asked the guests if they had a preference. The bed linens were also problematic. The sheets did not have a fresh pressed mint feel you would expect from a paid accommodation. While I'm sure they were clean, they felt worn and over-used. I know nothing about running one of these places, but isn't there some rule of thumb to replace sheets once they start to feel less than "new". The mattresses also had body indents from over-use. As for the hosts, we had very minimal contact...and you can see other rave reviews. Anyway, I wasn't expecting a 5-star classy hotel accommodation, but I was expecting "classic" and traditional. Compared to other B&B's I've stayed in, this was my least comfortable, least impressive experience. A-OKY

One word? AWESOME!…read more Initially, the thought of a B&B creeped me out. I don't like staying over friends or relatives' houses unless I must, let alone some stranger's house in an area I am unfamiliar with. Call me strange, but something about the concept of a B&B has so much in common with a horror film that ends with me getting killed along the line...but not here. My wife and I joined a few of our friends to go to Hyannis and Martha's Vineyard for Memorial Day Weekend and we stayed here. Craig and Ginny (the proprietors) were so friendly and accomodating. Both of them are very personable and full of great local knowledge that they really helped make our stay easier and more pleasant. You will be regaled with Craig's funny stories if you just take the time to speak with him. Ginny is so willing to make the stay as comfortable as possible. You could not ask for better hosts. At no time, did I think they would kill me, and cure my flesh to make sausages like in the movie "Motel Hell". (Sorry, my paranoia is a bit unreasonable). The place is literally a 10-15 min walk from Main street. The beach is 5 min in the opposite direction. You're so close, you can smell the salty air when you step from your room. The rooms are very nice. In fact, you have 2 choices of where to stay: Stay in the main house or the guest house. We stayed in the guest hose, facing the back yard and the large comfortable hammock that gently rocked me to sleep several nights. Our room consisted of a small sleeping area,, a bathroom and a closet. They got cable tv and I do believe there is wi-fi. But why come all the way to Hyannis to surf the web and watch cable? And the room size? Who cares. I was there to see the town, not stay indoors. It was more than adequate and very comfortable. By the way, the breakfast was DELICIOUS. You get two choices: some awesome egg dish or some ceral with yogurt. I went for the eggs and was pleased everytime. Damn, that was good food. Overall, we were extremely pleased. We're definitely going to stay here again. The rates are more than fair for all the accommodations, and the people here really make it worth the stay. My only regret in writing this review is that you'll read this and stay there with your friends and make it harder for me to do so. Do not make me slay you...

So after looking at a variety of hotel options that I couldn't afford and lower priced ones that I think I would've gotten diseases from, I decided to look at B&Bs. Having only stayed at a B&B once in the past (in Maine), I wasn't quite sure what to expect. But the rates were right in line with what I wanted to pay, there was availability, and I had read other good reviews. I cannot say enough about how much this place exceeded my expectations in so many ways. Firstly, the location is perfect. A 5 minute walk to the beach, 10 minute walk to Main Street, 20 minute walk to the ferries to MV & Nantucket. But don't even concern yourself with the 20 minute walk, because Craig & Ginny, the proprietors, are more than welcoming and offered us a ride to and from our ferry the day we went to Nantucket. They also provide beach chairs if you're going to the beach, restaurant and local area recommendations (of which we listened and were not disappointed), and most importantly HOSPITALITY. You don't get this kind of attention at a hotel. The B&B itself is very quaint... clean, well-kept, equipped with outdoor seating areas to relax as well as a pool, which was an added bonus I didn't expect before arriving. The breakfast area is very cute and the breakfast itself was delicious every morning. I really can't say enough good things about my stay at Salt Winds... just don't even second guess yourself and just book it and see for yourself. You can't come close to this location, level of service, and accommodations for the price on Cape Cod in the summer!

It's the perfect mix of old Cape antiques and more modern pieces, for a very classy and relaxing feel. This isn't your Great Aunt Martha's Victorian/cat decorated B&B. We stayed in the Federal room, and it couldn't have had more Cape Cod charm! A comfortable bed and seating area made us feel right at home. The bathroom has an adorable freestanding tub, and the bath products were Beekman's. New owners, Allison and Keith, purchased the inn in January 2020 and moved here from California to start a new chapter. Of course, no one could have known that a pandemic was brewing, and it must have been an incredibly stressful blow to have to close so soon after taking it over. Yet they are so gracious, so kind, even as they tell the story. Generally, they were just incredibly warm and welcoming people. Breakfast was glorious and really made our stay memorable. They asked our food preferences and allergies upon our arrival, got us dairy-free milk for our coffee, and served these gorgeous multi-course breakfasts each day. We usually prefer to sleep in and skip breakfast, but we didn't miss a single breakfast here. We found the best prices directly on the website, so definitely look there first when booking. Can't wait for our next stay!

When I originally called to find out if they were still offering breakfast bc of COVID and if so, could they accommodate vegan, Allison was so excited and inviting that I knew I needed to make the reservation. Their attention to detail inside the manor was just as impeccable as the breakfast they prepared and served. Each and everything we ate was phenomenal and they gifted me with vegan cookies and their delicious coffee to take home! We stayed in Phinney's Terrace; which was beautiful and sparkly clean. The room had lovely toiletries, the towels were lush and the bed was comfortable. We enjoyed playing cards and drinking wine on the private terrace and appreciated the water that was left in our room and in the refrigerator. Bonus- for those going to the beach or wanting to play- there are beach towels, chairs and an umbrella, a tennis court with balls and racquets on site and a bunch of board games and playing cards. I would recommend Ashley Manor to anyone and everyone for any occasion or just for a night away. You will be taken care of and you won't regret it at all!
