The Red Horse Inn is an excellent hotel choice for anyone visiting Falmouth, especially from outside of New England! It's an adorable inn just south of downtown Falmouth. While we didn't personally stay there, we coordinated with the general manager, Cindy, to have our guests stay there the week of our wedding. We were delighted to learn that prices were very reasonable for an August weekend, at under $300 per night (2-night minimum). We had no issues with our invited guests securing rooms, and it is best to book rooms by calling hotel management directly. The room decor is characteristically quaint Cape Cod themed, and was a nice bonus to welcome our many guests who had never been to Cape Cod. Cindy was accommodating in allowing our shuttle buses to pick up and drop off guests at the Red Horse Inn, and she was good at getting the guest welcome bags where they needed to go after we dropped them off. read more

Awesome inn I was in for one night only to attend a wedding. The room #4, was spacious , clean and bright. It had a king bed that was comfortable and the nicest pillows. I did notice the mattress and pillows all had encasements to prevent bugs. Since I also have this in my own house I felt very secure that I would have no unwanted guests. The bathroom was also good size and the shower was one of the best I have ever had. I don't know how the WiFi was as I did not receive a password. All in all I would go back in a heartbeat. read more

Very nice spot. The owner is great, the rooms are clean and the cleaning staff is great. You'll find little things like loose plugs and slightly buzzing AC, but the inn is fantastic. I give 4 stars because it's not without flaws, but for the price you pay you get far more than I expected. It's very nice and comfortable place. Stayed there for almost 3 weeks and none of the group had any complaints, to the contrary the whole group really enjoyed it. Especially this fresh baked blueberry muffins every morning! The Hubby and I had rented a room then COVID hit hard, we unfortunately had canceled back in May 2020. Fast forward 2+ years and we were looking for a place to stay this past weekend. I called the Inn and this wonderful woman (who remembered who I was) booked us a jacuzzi suite room. Communication with the Inn was superb, consistentemail communicatios. Our room was ready an hour prior to check in which was awesome. As we get there I was instantly greeted by that same wonderful woman and 2 of the cutest sweetest dogs, which was a great surprise. We checked into our room and right from the moment we stepped in it felt so cottage cozy. Just off first impressions it felt super clean and neat. All amenities needed and so much more. The fridge was a great size, along with a full size microwave and extra cups. The bathroom was HUGE stocked with more towels than I though possible which is a huge plus since most places never give enough. The bed a ok, common hotel bed but the pillows were super soft, almost too soft but not a big issue for us. Over all I couldn't be happier with the stay we had. We will return, that's for sure. read more

Lovely spot to stay! Our room was clean, cute, and quite large with plenty of storage space, and a 4 person table to boot. The breakfast space in The Barn was super cute and the food was really high quality (delicious watermelon and still-warm muffins, among other things). It was very convenient that we were able to keep our car parked here for free and walk 5-10 min (with little kids) to the Island Queen ferry to Martha's Vineyard. Had my elderly father stay here while visiting us in town. The Red Horse team made sure all necessary "accessibility" equipment was in place. They were super nice and very helpful. Came here for a romantic, Memorial Day weekend trip with my honey. This is absolutely the cutest, most comfortable, little inn we have every stayed at! The owners and all of the staff were BEYOND accommodating and so easy to work with. We arrived after the office was closed, so the manager reached out to tell us that our keys were left in a specific area. We found the rates to be extremely reasonable and felt we received excellent quality for our money. The room was cozy, warm, and inviting, perfect for our romantic get-away. Everything was very clean and we felt very much at home in the room we stayed in. It did not have the generic "hotel" look, but had rather, a rural, "homey" and quaint feel to it and was decorated nicely. The area is somewhat residential, and we enjoyed sitting on our little front step and looking at the stars at night. Very safe area and walking distance to the Martha's Vineyard Ferries and many restaurants and bars. There are tables to sit at in the back and breakfast is served in the barn in the back of the inn. There was a small wicker table and chairs alongside a fireplace in our room, adorable! The room was the eprfect size for two people. Bathroom and room itself were very clean. I cannot say enough great things about this inn. The quaint and cozy vibe and the outstanding service made our trip that much more romantic and memorable. I have recommended this inn to anyone coming into the area and would be thrilled to come back here again! read more

+ it is very easy to find + although it is on the main road leading to the Island Queen Ferry (which takes hundreds of people to Martha's Vineyard), there was very minimal noise throughout the night and we slept with the windows open + the manager, Cindy, was very helpful + the room and bathroom were extremely clean + there was a great air-conditioning unit + my room was on the first floor, and I never heard guests in the room above me + the wifi worked perfectly for emails, Facebook, etc. + breakfast (bagels, cereal, fruit) was included - the front desk closes at 8:00 pm so you must call ahead to be sure your key is available for you so that you can get into your room - no whole wheat bread or bagels in the breakfast I booked through Expedia and got a rate of $140 a night for a room with a queen bed and was extremely pleased. Absolutely perfect. We stayed here for Memorial Day weekend, as my husband and I were trying to get away to a relaxing location. A friend of my mine stayed here previously, and recommended the place to us. We had such an amazing time. My husband made reservations and everything seemed great. We arrived at night after the office was closed, so they left our keys in a specific location. We were a bit hesitant because our room was on the first floor, but it was such a quaint place. The owner was friendly and provided a free continental breakfast in the really cute barn area. It was very nice to have breakfast on site instead of running around to try to find a place. We were a quick walk to the ferry to take us into Martha's Vineyard. It was such a peaceful and relaxing trip. We would definitely consider going again! Everything in Falmouth (and to some extent in Cape Cod as a whole) is stupidly expensive. The Red Horse Inn is no different but at least makes you feel more okay parting with your money. The Red Horse Inn fits a comfortable mid-range area in terms of price and amenities. The location is excellent, minutes away from downtown Falmouth and equally importantly Holiday Cycle so you can rent a bicycle to get around the area with. The young lady who checked us in was not only wicked cute, but also possessed an unusual exuberance to this cynical city-dweller that made me feel instantly at ease. The other people who run the Red Horse are also kind and helpful, although not quite as excitable. We had some issues with the provided air mattress the third person in our room slept on and the staff were very apologetic and saw to it that we got a new one right away (which we did within minutes of asking). The rooms are simply adorned but cozy. Our room was one of the smallest and with three was a bit full but still very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and had a truly amazing shower with lots of lovely pressure. A continental breakfast is provided, which you ought to take advantage of given the expense of vacationing in the area. My singular complaint was with the wireless internet. The website claims to offer free wireless Internet to all rooms, my room didn't get Internet access at all. Wandering around outside the other rooms with my laptop I was able to get somewhat reliable WiFI signals. The only place I was able to get reliable access was in the main office itself. This is a problem that needs to be addressed - how else am I going to get my daily Yelp in? read more

I chose to stay at the Red Horse Inn as it was listed on places to stay for a wedding we were attending in Falmouth. The reason why they got two stars at all were because the rooms were really nice - they were large, clean, and had the great touches of a hotel by the sea decor. Upon checking in we only had a small amount of time to get ready for the wedding which was in July - not sure if you remember but it was a scorcher. Most of the hotel was filled by family and friends of the wedding. You would think that the hotel would have been nice and turned on the AC for us an hour or so before hand, alas no. We were all sweaty and nasty with dripping makeup for the wedding - very unpleasant. The morning after the wedding my husband and I asked for a breakfast recommendation at the front desk - big mistake - the place we went to was awful- lesson learned don't ask them for recs. Upon returning we went to take showers and head out for a beach day. While my husband was in the shower, the house keeper came to the door. She was very pleasant. I let her know we would be out in about 15 mins. She let me know that she would not be able to wait for us, and handed me some fresh towels. Wait a minute! One of the luxuries of paying such high summer prices on the cape to stay in a hotel is getting the bed made:( She then asked me if I was heading to the beach. I said we were, and she let me know that she was too. What?? While she did not come out and say she could not clean my room because she wanted to go to the beach - she certainly implied that was why. I expressed my frustration to the woman at the front desk, who was the owner. She actually asked me what kind of tone the woman had with me - was she nice about it? Um... I have worked in customer service a long time, it does not matter how nice about it you are - it doesn't make it right. Then she went on to say it must have been an issue with communication, because she would never say that. Well I didn't make it up if that's what your implying...Sigh. Owner gave us a gift card for some restaurant we will probably never go to. I was very unimpressed by the way the people who work here handled customer service and will not stay here nor recommend anyone to come here. read more

While this is not your typical five star hotel, I was very pleased with my stay here. At check in, I was greeted by a wonderful lady and three adorable pooches who wanted to play and gave lots of shuga. My room was squeeky clean and very pleasant and the bed was so comfortable I didn't want to get up! "The Barn" where you can get hot pots, wine glasses, mugs and good continental breakfast was delightful. I highly recommend and will always look forward to returning here. Bravo!!! read more

My husband arrived for our two-night stay (Nov. 30th and Dec. 1st) after the office was closed. Our key was in a labeled envelope with a map to our room. Great parking. We had room 12- a queen cottage. After a nearly 3-hour drive, I needed to use the bathroom, only to find long hair on the floor and hair from a man's shave on the sink. Not impressed. The bathroom was also very, very small. The bed, however, was really comfortable and the sheets were soft. The owner, Cathy, did accommodate us well, though, letting us use some wine glasses and allowing a late check out on Sunday. That was really kind. The location is good, but even off-season, the traffic is definitely noticeable. I was able to walk into town though! Walls are thin, and we could hear the two people in room 11 talking and slamming their door. Come on people, be quiet! Luckily, none of the noise disturbed my sleep. Continental breakfast was good enough! Coffee, tea, OJ, bagels, muffins... warm yogurt. I guess compared to other places we have stayed this place is only ok. We would stay again as they offer a military discount, but we would not pay full price to stay. read more

I have stayed at the Red Horse Inn a couple of times this past year, both times in the Queen room with the hot tub and the fireplace. I can confirm that the room is clean and quiet, at least in the winter, and the lady that manages the place is friendly. As for the room, the fireplace barely works, but the hot tub is nice if you're into that sort of thing. Breakfast is sparse, consisting of bread, jam, instant oatmeal, and tea/coffee, but it's more than most places there provide. All in all, The Red Horse is a decent value in Falmouth, close to downtown, as well as the supermarket and some chain restaurants. read more

This is our new favorite inn! We changed our plans last minute and were lucky enough to find a vacancy here. The rates are completely reasonable and fluctuate with the season which is true of all falmouth hotels. Cindy at the desk was amazing, so welcoming and helpful, and the office was neat and adorable. Our room was spacious, clean, and the decor captured the essence of the Cape! There was even an electric fireplace space heater, and everything was wicker which I love. There was a TV and a mini fridge as well as 2 nightstands, as desk, closet, and shelves. We can't wait to come back and have already booked our next stay for the end of the month :) read more

What can I say...I love this place... simple, cozy, roomy rooms! We always stay in the front rooms, which let us see the people passing by and the sunset...really beautiful! Rooms have a spacious bathroom, fridge, good size closet (so you don't have your luggage in the way), one dresser, chest of drawers, TV, two chairs and a small table. Very close to everything, from the Island Queen Ferry to boat ramp (my husband and I love it we can put our jets on the water, and even if you don't find park in the public ramp you can drive back to the hotel and walk back!!! ), to restaurants, breakfast places, bike routes and beaches... The new owners just took over this 4th July weekend and Cindy was great! She accommodated every request we made, even after we check out when we needed to wash/flush our jets... Price is reasonable, for the size of the rooms (at the least the front ones), we've paid much more for much less space in other places. It is very convenient for us. We plan to come back more times! read more

I stayed here for my birthday this past summer with my girlfriend. We had an amazing time! The owner was so sweet and nice, she was always giving out suggestions for restaurants and activities. The rooms were very clean and we stayed in their massive jacuzzi suite. Very spacious and homey. We absolutely loved the jacuzzi and enjoyed it immensely over the few days we were there. We never woke up "early" enough for the breakfast so I can not comment on that. The location was perfect in Falmouth, it was close enough to walk to the shops or restaurants in downtown. It was just a little too far for the beach though, but it was only a 5 minute drive. We stayed in early june before full summer rates if I recall so the pricing was excellent. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in Cape Cod. read more

Stayed here with a girlfriend for three days during the off season and it was GREAT! The rooms are HUGE; clean and equipped with fridge, television, micro and WIFI. The innkeeper and her trusty furry assistant Buster were WONDERFUL. We were treated well and given lots of useful information about the area ( restaurants; activities ,etc.) The Inn is conveniently located to the adorable Main street in Falmouth which has many shops and restaurants. A continental breakfast is served; but since we were the only guests at the Inn it was served in the reception area. The food was OK ,but limited especially if you are on a special diet. During the high season, there is a lovely patio with a barn-like building from which the breakfast is served. This is the only reason that I gave it a four star rating; otherwise I am sold! Husband will be going with me and we will be staying here; he just doesn't know it yet!!! read more

Slightly disappointed with our stay here. The innkeeper was very nice and had plenty of recommendations. The rooms were huge, but lacking in decor. The "barn" was convenient with breakfast options and a sitting area. However, our room was not serviced while we were there. Very, very disappointing! We never received fresh towels.
