This place is one of phantom gourmets hidden jewels. You can smell the fresh fruit and veggies as soon as you walk in. The salad bar is incredible and they have hot n cold subs made to order. I miss you, my old friend. I used to work around the corner from this place and it was a regular stop for lunch. Amazing salad bar at a great per pound price. Once in a while they tried to sneak in some not-quite-ripe avocado but I always forgave them. On any given day they had 10 soups to choose from. An excellent deli counter w/made to order sandwiches. The market side was great as well, I'd often do my produce shopping here at lunch time, even though it meant lugging the bags into my office during warm weather, to store them in the fridge. Great place for lunch if you want a salad. Salad bar is well stocked and huge. Always seems clean. It's pretty easy to spend 12 dollars on a salad here but it will probably be delicious. Cash registers are well manned and they get you in and out fast. read more

I was driving down RT128 around lunchtime and spotted a sign for Lambert's "salad bar", and decided to take a look. It's a small grocery store with great looking produce, a sandwich station, and some ready made comfort foods, but the salad bar looked damn good. I filled up on veggies and some really good chicken salad, but they had a nice assortment of other prepared protein, legume, and pasta salads, and a lot of cut fruit. Everything was clean and fresh, and you didn't feel poorer after being fleeced by a place like Whole Foods. Next time, I'll bring the family. I'm sure they'd like it, too. read more

I LOVE Lamberts in Westwood. I live in Norwood so it's very convenient to have this place nearby. I'm A big fan of their salad bar. So many fresh great choices which can make your salad not only tasty but also very satisfying. I call it the best salad in the world. No other salad can beat the mix I'm able to make there. To second another reviewer, I've also been pretty disappointed in the Christmas trees the last couple of years - they look pretty good on the lot and it's close to home, but they're drying out terribly even though we're keeping up with the water; this year's came down a couple days after Christmas just for fire safety and we'll likely look elsewhere next year. Come to think of it, all of that outdoor stuff seems a bit overpriced and we tend to pass on it for options elsewhere. read more

The salad bar is amazing, and the deli carries Boars Head Products, the Boars Head Ovengold Turkey is the only deli turkey I will eat. Their selection of seasonal fruits and veggies is astoundingly awesome. I called to get credited for the meal and after being disconnected, transferred to several ppl and placed on hold for over 5 minutes they would not credit be because my husband did not keep the receipt from an hour prior! Salad bar and prepared food is worth the trip. Haven't doesn't time checking out the grocery items as it's all about the ready-to-eat food. The tables outside are great for a nice day and the high chairs make it kid friendly. The salad bar price is lower than any surrounding grocery store and the quality is 10X that of anywhere nearby. read more

I work very close to Lamberts and go there frequently for lunch. The salad bar is outstanding for the quality and freshness. The traffic on route 1 getting there can sometimes be awful, but so worth it! The produce is top quality and sale prices are terrific. Don't buy spices in the grocery store- get them at Lambert's- much cheaper and big plastic bags- supply your own container- bargain! read more

My husband works very close to Lamberts and has been going there for lunch rather often. He raves about their paninis, wraps, and fresh deli sandwiches as well as the overflowing salad bar. One night I picked him up and we stopped in for a bite. I was very impressed with the salad bar and grocery selection as well as the fresh veggies. I bought cukes and tomatoes and they're certainly better than the average supermarket fare. The tuna salad on wheat I got was very good, not loaded with mayo, not salty or mushy. You can choose from a variety of breads and toppings and they make the sandwiches any way you want. The staff is very friendly and courteous. The pricing is ok, a little on the higher side but the food is fresh. read more

Stopped by with my daughter for a sandwich. All Boars Head- as good as it gets. I've been by many times for the salad bar- also as good as it gets but had not tried the deli yet. I ask the young man behind the counter how it works. His reply; "Just grab any roll you like sir and we'll put whatever you want on it"- very friendly and courteous. My daughter and I had ate outside at one of the picnic tables. Excellent service, great quality at a reasonable price. They obviously take pride in the products they deliver. read more

I have also had their Steak Sandwich, great, and their burrito bowl, think Chipotle, a couple of times. Very cool store/ take out place. I went there at 6:25pm on a Sunday knowing that it closes at 7pm and the employees had already put away the salad bar and were sweeping up the deli. I cannot handle the deliciousness. I live in the area but never thought to stop at Lambert's... silly me. A few weeks ago I decided to check out this famed salad bar. Best decision I've made in a while. The salad bar is HUGE, and I (like many others) have a tendency to misjudge the amount of deliciousness I'm piling into my container. They've got everything from super fresh veggies to lots of fruits and even a big selection of pasta salads, couscous, etc. Delicious. I think I could have it for lunch everyday, and at $4.99/lb, I could afford it, too. Today, I decided to try something new and picked up a chicken parmesan sandwich with swiss cheese (on fresh bread!). I'm going to go ahead and award it the title of BEST chicken parm I've tasted... ever. I bought the sandwich and a "side salad" (at least that was my intention, but I couldn't help myself and it ended up at almost a pound) and the total came out at $10. Not too shabby. The Pros: Fresh fruit, meats, baked goods, and unlike most places similar to this, they sell Coke and Pepsi products. I have lunch on Sundays here all the time. I am so glad a woman I work with recommended I go here! There is a Stop and Shop less than a mile from my house but their produce is always a gamble; we've gone home straight from the store to find out the produce we just bought is so old it goes from the store directly to the trash and we have to make a new plan for dinner. Lamberts was far beyond what I could have hoped for. The produce was fresh and there were so many varieties of vegetables to chose from. And the prices were amazing as well! Asked for Fraser Fur Christmas tree....paid almost $70 for 8' Christmas tree....worst Christmas tree we have ever had. Dry, dry, dry.....brown, broken limbs, questionable if it will make it 'til Christmas. Very disappointed and will not return for Holiday greens ever again.
