I contacted them for an estimate and was asked to bring our vehicle by. This happened to be a cold winter day when we arrived. I believe it was Patrick came outside to greet us. Took pictures of the damage and a picture of our VIN number. We never had to get out into the cold. He told us he would send us an estimate in a few days. True to his word we received our estimate. Hass worked with the insurance company for the individual that hit us. We scheduled a time to drop off our vehicle. A few days later when we picked up our vehicle, I have to say it looked like a brand new vehicle. The bumper looked perfect. Well, I got a little tired of the run around and decided to go with a shop I knew did quality work. I started out at LaMettry's Inver Grove by my house for an estimate, and I was so happy that they would reach out within their network of shops to see if they could get me an earlier appointment. Now, Chanhassen isn't particularly close to where I live, but I figured it was worth getting the work done sooner. It was so nice to have them call and set up my rental car with my insurance and have it waiting for me when I dropped my car off! Everyone was so friendly, and even when my insurance was being difficult, Chad, the manager, helped me out and sent the paperwork in. There was a Tesla collision repair shop in the area, but I chose LaMettry's because they are a Tesla Approved Collision Center, they could start on the repair sooner, and I was able to make initial arrangements with a person rather than on-line. The car required structural repairs so it was transported to their Chanhassen shop and required three months to complete because of the double damage and parts availability. During that time Allen called me twice a week with updates. He also handled all contacts with both insurance companies. He handled coordination with the towing company insurance when I needed a rental car for a week. When I got the car back it was perfect. The new body panel gaps were uniform and symmetrical on both sides. The newly painted panels matched perfectly. When I just barely swiped the side of my garage door with my Mazda CX-30, the front tire plastic cladding took the brunt of the damage. Instead of charging me a bunch to fix it as I was half expecting, Drew offered to do what he could to buff out the small scratches on the paint (most came out) and then looked up a replacement plastic part from a local Mazda dealer that I could go pick up myself and he'd install at no charge. Took him 10 minutes to buff and 20 minutes to install the part. My 2005 Honda Civic LX Special Edition, which I bought new, may be 21 years old, but I've taken…read moregood care of it. It is mechanically sound, it has only 26,800 miles on the odometer and its factory fire-engine-red paint looks to be unfaded. At age 90, I'm sure it will outlast me I had my first accident earlier this winter, and it was nasty. A chunk of ice left by a snowplow got trapped under my front bumper cover and split it six ways from Sunday. Attached pix show the BEFORE and AFTER left-side split--the right-side damage was twice as bad (sorry, the BEFORE pic won't upload). Two indie body shops would replace the bump cover and paint it for $1,000. As I drove to Oscar Auto Body for a third estimate, I pretty much figured it would come in with a $1K replacement, too. Owner Ramin Hakimi did, but then he suggested another way. He would weld the splits from the underside of the cover and brush-touch the paint. "You'll be able to see the tiny seam where the splits meet," he said,' but the casual observer won't notice any difference." Cost? $370. This plan's potential savings led me to show Ramin some surface damage to my rear bump cover, incurred some time ago when I backed into a brick wall too low to see. He'd take care of this cosmetic damage for $89 (Collision Bonilla wanted $700!). Attached pix shows AFTER. I chose to have both front and rear ends done, and I couldn't be happier with the work done, including the paint match. My choice made Ramin happy, too, because as an environmentalist he hates having to trash big pieces of fiberglass (his shop was one of the first in the city to transition to water-based or low-volatile organic compound (low-VOC) paint). I went to a family gathering last Sunday. I pulled into the driveway behind my brother, a perfectionist mechanical engineer. Walking over to my Civic, he said, "I see you decided to pop for a new bumper cover." Nuff said. Finally, I want to say that I wholeheartedly agree with the many online reviewers who found Ramin extraordinary. He is forthright and will give you his undivided personal attention as well as a more-than-fair price. He did not patronize me as so often happens with women drivers or discount my input because of my advanced age. We all want an honest estimator, and Ramin Hakimi is IT. When another vehicle had damage to the liftgate, their work was just as stellar. Being in a particularly brutal part of the car for Minnesota conditions, there was an issue with the repair. I walked in, chatted with their Estimator and showed him the problem. Will was wonderful to deal with, and to my utter surprise they performed warranty work without any hassles.
