A little over a year ago, my hot water tank started leaking and they sent someone out immediately--pretty sure his name was Jeremy--and he did a fantastic job. I thought I'd found "my" plumber. Fast-forward to this year: my ejector pump started acting up. I submitted two consult requests through their website and waited over two weeks with no response. Out of fairness, I called. I was told someone would come diagnose the issue for $79.95, and that fee would go toward repairs if I proceeded. Jacob arrived on September 3, 2025. He was polite, but no diagnostic was performed--he never opened or touched the unit. Instead, after a little small talk, he pitched reworking my system back to gravity-fed, which sounded promising, and then showed me five estimates ranging from ~$4,000 to ~$20,000. The quotes also said walls would need to be knocked down, which I would have to handle separately--though he mentioned his brother does wall work. I said I'd likely choose the ~$10,000 option but needed wall estimates first; I asked him to have his brother contact me, and I planned to get a couple of my own quotes too. No one ever followed up. No call from Jacob. No call from Epoch. Nothing--despite me being ready to proceed once I had the wall costs. Meanwhile, I was charged $79.95 for a "diagnostic" that wasn't performed. I even have surveillance footage showing the unit was never opened. I originally expected to spend up to ~$1,700 for repairs. Instead, I was upsold hard into a $10,000+ project and then completely ghosted. Unless Epoch refunds the $79.95 diagnostic fee that wasn't earned, I'll be disputing the charge with my credit card. Bottom line: Great experience with Jeremy last year; very poor service this year--no response to online requests, no diagnostic, aggressive upsell, and zero follow-through. They've lost my business. I'd caution others to get multiple quotes and make sure a real diagnostic is performed before paying any fee.

Our tankless hot-water unit a few days ago (this is not a post to discuss Gardner water…read moreissues...haha), and we called Epoch Plumbing to help us and we couldn't be more impressed with the service they provided to get us up and running again. They came over quickly after we called and assessing the issue, they helped us by calling the manufacturer and helped convince that despite that the previous owners of the house didn't register the wall unit for the warranty that it was no fault of us and got the company to cover the unit under the warranty which saved us thousands of dollars. Epoch quickly was able to get a new wall unit within a day and despite having to do some additional work with the piping as the newer unit had some different aspects than out older unit, stayed late on a Friday night to get us up and running by the weekend. We couldn't be happier with the service we received, and we will 100% go with Epoch Plumbing for any plumbing related issues going forward and highly recommend that you do also.

Just awful. And I have photos to show it. To be fair, the first time I used them I would give…read morethem 3 stars. For that, I had them put in a mixing valve and plumb in a shower wand for a tub. That job looked good except that the plumber had the fixtures way too far out (I asked for an inch to account for cement board and tile thickness. Was probably out almost 2 inches). I had to cut into the back of the wall to adjust the depth. But that plumber did okay as far as the piping was concerned (except I'm not a big fan of pro press couplings). The second time I needed my bathroom sink fixtures moved over about a foot and a mixing valve and shower wand put into a shower (everything was opened up). If I could give zero stars for this work, I would. The shower plumbing was a mess. Cut a hole in a 2x4 so big that the support was no longer any good (fortunately not a load bearing wall). Then the two pipes that went through he crossed over one another. (Would have been better to drill two smaller holes and fit pipe accordingly). Despite me indicating where I wanted the shower wand fixture, he put it up higher than the actual shower head!! I ended up having to move the shower wand myself (I used a shark-bite coupling for the first time rather than soldering it.) The bathroom sink work was even worse. Instead of extending the pipe the foot and using a single, 90degree coupling, he used five press-fit couplings and created a staircase like exit. Huh? Even worse, he put the valve connections about 1/2" from the studs. I asked him how was this going to work when I put sheetrock up...the outlets were in the same plane as the sheetrock! So he had to extend them out a bit (and I paid for that extra time to correct his mistake). I can do plumbing but wanted to be legal in Massachusetts by hiring a licensed plumber. I can also do better (I can solder but these guys all use pro-press fittings). I sincerely think that whoever they sent out was not a plumber. He must just be a warm body working under a licensed plumber's credentials. But the licensee did not inspect the work. The only good thing is that they charge by the hour (not cheap but still...). I estimated the work at about 3-4 hours and that's how long they took. Other plumbers I called just quoted the "work" and were about twice the money (around $2500). For 3-4 hours of work?? Makes me think about doing my own plumbing in the future.

Therefore I still couldn't flush anything down or use the sink/shower. They banged a cast iron pipe and it left a big hole in the bottom. blamed it on rust but it was perfectly fine when started. Had another person come out to look at it and even them stated he shouldn't have tried to bang that out nd should've went for an easier route so now I am left a a leaking pipe nd more stress nd frustration on my behalf. They are unable to cover their mistake because of the contract I signed ..Make sure if using them, you use you request one w experience and not a rookie!! It's clear they messed up, no apology what so ever just a quote to fix it on top of the 6500 I just paid! Disappointing!
