I have been coming here with my daughter for over 3 years service is has been good. It is a tradition to celebrate her birthday and relax together ! Came last week for a relaxing mani/pedi and it was the worst and far from relaxing experience. They seemed to get a surge of clients and they decided to cut my time very short! I like relaxing in the massage chair while getting pedi and that never happened they did my pedi in 15 minutes! Didn't even have time to turn on the massage chair, no regular massage on legs before proceeding to do pedi. Didn't do the usual scrub time on legs. The woman working on my nails never soaked them before cutting and flew through the process. After the very short pedi and mani they had me sit on a rickety uncomfortable chair to finish drying my nails. Very disappointed with the service. This is my favorite nail salon in Lafayette. It's a newer salon, my Mom took both my sister and I here a few months ago and they're the only place I'll use now when I'm in the East Bay. Everyone who works here is so sweet and does an amazing job with both the manicure and pedicure (Lynn is my personal favorite). They are clean, efficient and it's always a good experience. I'm always happy when I leave and my nails stay looking nice for a while without any chips. It's small so I'd recommend making an appointment the day before to avoid waiting. read more

I have tried a number of nail salons around Walnut Creek, Lafayette and Pleasant Hill, and this one is my favorite. They have a large selection of regular OPI and shellac colors. They have an amazing gray shellac color with gold sparkles - it was recommended by the salon owner. Also, she guarantees 2 weeks no chip shellac manicure. I got the best leg massage with my pedi. Ask for the Hawaiian scrub! It's a small place (they can only accommodate a few customers at a time) so I ended up waiting 40 minutes for my mani/pedi since it was a walk-in, and it was ok since I had to do some shopping. They only use Shellac and OPI, which are the only brands that I've found last long enough to be worth it. It was a Saturday afternoon in Lafayette and I needed a manicure and pedicure bad! I was visiting from out of town and was told that it would be impossible to get a mani/pedi appointment there on a Saturday afternoon especially at the last minute. Then my friend, she's a local gal, said this new place had opened and perhaps they would have space since they were new in town. Walked in and was able to get an appointment (for two people) that afternoon! The salon was spotless and the spa chairs very comfy. They had a large flat screen TV on the wall that the chairs face so if you don't want to miss your favorite shows you can see it there--multitasking? Lots of the latest magazines available if you'd rather not watch TV or get your chair massage. Staff was friendly and professional and they have parking for a few cars in front. Prices were average. I tried Lamorinda nails based off of all the great yelp reviews and now, over a year later, I am still going there every 2 weeks for my mani/pedi and couldn't be a happier or more loyal customer. And I have to say I never would have found it as it's behind Whole Foods in Lafayette. Yep, behind! Who knew! Kathy, the owner, is always so friendly and engaging and it's contagious as the entire staff is always friendly and happy no matter how many customers are waiting or how rude some clients are. I've witnessed some really choice behavior from some really choice ladies. Or rather, women. Nothing ladylike about being condescending and disrespectful to the person who is cleaning your nasty, snaggle toes! My normal services are a pedicure and a shellac manicure. I'm not sure which came first, my love of shellac or my love of Lamorinda nails! I have been doing shellac for a year straight. During one of my last manicures they encouraged me to take a break because my nails were looking a little dry. A little dry after an entire year .. another testament to how well these ladies take care of nails .. we all know that after a couple cheap, choppy manicures we could walk away with brittle, dry, yellow nails and here I am a year into my shellac obsession and I am AMAZED at how well my nails are doing! No peeling, no softness, no yellowing, just normal lonely and naked nails. Thankfully they're going to get prettied up this afternoon. Don't overpay at Lavande or Pinkies for a mani/pedi that will chip after a few days. And don't risk getting nail fungus at any of the handful of crusty little places. One of the best kept secrets in Lafayette. The owner Kim, makes this a personal experience for each client. Reasonably priced, clean and friendly. You can get in quickly and walk-ins are always welcome. It is a true place to relax and be pampered. I've never had my feet rubbed for SO LONG and so brilliantly.......a total experience pedicure for a mere $25. Much for value for the dollar than most of the places in the areas. After I moved to the Lamorinda area about 18 months ago I started a search for a local nail salon after concluding that "commuting" to my prior preferred nail salon was not working for me. I started sampling the local salons and was completely unimpressed until I went to Lamorinda based on the positive yelp reviews, and after truly bad experiences at a more "chi-chi" place in town. Lamorinda Nails is not the fanciest place in the area, but it is the best. It is clean and they recently installed new comfy massaging pedicure chairs. The owner and personnel are fabulous. They have a huge selection of polishes, shellacs, and the newish longer-lasting vinyl polishes. My shellac polishes last longer than 2 weeks (although my nails grow fast, so I really need them redone at that point). My pedicures never chip. I'm a long-time manicure/pedicure person (30+ years, to be honest) and I can truly say that I've never been to a salon that resulted in better results. read more

I was taken right on time for my appointment. The service I received by Eileen was very thorough, not rushed, and very relaxing! I've had such a hard time finding that perfect nail salon that I swear I have driven miles just to find the right one. I found this one by accident while shopping at Whole Foods. The salon is pretty hidden behind Whole Foods. I have been back here at least 5 times and I think I can honestly say that I am now a fan. They have a great selection of colors, staff is friendly, and Kathy remembers you and always tries to make you feel comfortable. I love supporting a small family business and nothing can be more family than having your husband and young daughter also work there on weekends :) Okay, I must admit, it was really weird for me the first time the daughter was helping me pick colors. She looks like she's probably in elementary school, and seeing her clean someone's nails didn't help the weird feeling, but she obviously knows what she's doing. The Shellac application I've gotten done here has lasted the longest. I'm pretty rough with my nails and I've managed to stretch out the life to two weeks most of the time. Normally, I'm lucky if it can last a week. I would call ahead and make an appointment. The shop is pretty small and does get packed. I normally don't have a problem calling in for a same-day appointment, but I normally call in a few hours ahead of time. I am definetely a fan and will continue coming back. read more

Whenever I feel I need a big of pampering I come here to get my nails done. I love Shellac and this place has given the best Shellac manicure I've never had. No bubbles, no unevenness and unlike most nail shops, I don't feel uncomfortable when the workers gossip with each other. The owner and other nail techs are very friendly and professional. The owner always tells me to come back if anything goes wrong with my nails for two weeks. Roughly my manicure lasts for the expected two weeks but I usually don't change it until it's incredibly grown out because I get lazy. Even when I finally decide to change it, there's no chips unless I've been picking at it. They don't charge to take off your old manicure unlike most shops. The massage at the end makes you feel even more relaxed and prepares me for my drive back to Brentwood. I never make an appointment and have never had to wait. The wait did get long for those that walked in after me. They do take a while though so not a place to go to if you're in a hurry. Granted the last time I went, I asked for a complicated heart-shaped french manicure Shellac design that took 1.5 hours. I completely understood and it turned out exactly like the picture I showed them. I felt bad for asking for the design after 45 mins but my girl was very patient and told me not to worry about it. I recently had a pedicure at Lamorinda Nails that was overall great. I wasn't waiting long, although I did not have an appointment, and all the women were very friendly. My favorite part of the pedicure was the massage--the woman who worked on me really helped to soothe my feet and legs. The massage itself lasted a good 20 minutes! Also, my pedicure ended up looking very neat and pretty, lasting for a few weeks without chipping. My only issue is that my feet and toes did end up peeling a lot the few days after, making me wonder if they fully exfoliated my feet, or just brought up dead skin. Overall, great for the price! Love coming here to get my pedis. Been coming for about 4 years now. Cathy is great, she's sweet, friendly and always remembers everyone's names. This place is very clean. A few times I've stayed long enough to get my toes completely dry before hitting the road, and have been there to see all of them cleaning this place from top to bottom. Refilling bottles of oil, cuticle softener, cotton, emptying each trash on the carts, sweeping, dusting ...I was impressed and made me love this place even more. And to top that off, they never ask me to leave or rush me as I sit in the massage chair waiting for my toes to dry. In fact, I always feel bad that I'm still there in their way. I always ask if I should move and Cathy always says no. And when I call to make my appointments, Cathy always remembers me and I can always tell she has a smile on her face (even over the phone). I really want to like this place but can't. The ladies working there are polite and work hard. -It's busy so you are rushed in and out of your chair. -Crowded, poor air circulation. Not super clean feeling. -Expect the polish to be done not in the spa chair, but while you sit on a chair while a tech is sitting on the floor. It's a bit awkward. -Messy rushed polish job the last two times - tech needing to acetone my hands and feet to get the excess smudged polish off. 2.5 stars and not sure I'll go back. read more

I was very disappointed- my daughter bought me a pedicure with tip to use . She paid $30. I scheduled a mani and pedi which is $35. I asked to use the gift certificate and pay the difference and of course add tip but she said I couldn't so had to pay separately for the manicure another $15 not including tip . I have been coming here regularly and was very disappointed. I wouldn't have gotten the manicure if I had known and thought it was unreasonable. I like everything about this place. They are professional. I always ask for some design made up by myself and they can deliver. They are very warm and friendly even though they are always so busy and full. I also like the variety of her colors. Kim knows how to treat people and her worker and I always tell her you are an accomplished business women. This is something some should carry in DNA and not so much to teach or train people. This has been our go-to nail salon for the past 15 years. And there's never been any location to match it, with the friendliness of staff and quality of the work. With Covid altering so many protocols, this salon has set up measures to ensure confidence in the safety of the environment for all of its clients. Whenever I come with my mom or sister, they always group us together and allow us to really enjoy our girls day out. My last gel nails lasted over 3 weeks, and the regular nail polish which I get on my toes lasts at least as long. They have a huge array of colors from which to choose and are extremely flexible with reservations, scheduling AND they always make room for walk-ins. Found this place by default! I had a tan at 7 and was running late for my first appointment for a pedicure and this was right next door. I loved my pedicure and the girls were so friendly that I made an appointment for a manicure the next morning. I had gotten shalack at Fashion Nail in San Ramon a week before and it had already peeled off. I had told Kathy and she felt so bad she gave me $10 off for a whole new set and they looked so much better! Also, they give you gloves that cover your whole hand up to your fingernail so that the UV light does not hit your skin. They make you very aware of how to take care of your nails too. This place has suffered the same usual yelp fame: good reviews, increase in business, staff is overworked, services is no longer what it used to be. I used to really like this place, but the last few times they were definitely rushing me. I literally timed her this last time and she only took 25 min for my pedicure because someone was waiting for the chair. She slapped that top coat on so hastily that she had to reapply when I was sitting somewhere else waiting for nails to dry. They still do a good job on the nails, but I think $25 + tip is too much for 25 min of pedicure work and I don't think I will be coming back anymore. read more

I loved this place, used to get my nails done here frequently... Last time (December 2015) I asked for waxing as well.... At the end of the service I noticed that lady double dipped into the wax.... using the same stick she used before.... Its against state regulations..... that wax is not enough to kill bacteria if it gets in there from somebody's skin..... (lip, eyebrow, bikini line......). Sticks are not that expensive. Don't worth to try to save money on this for any salon... read more
