It ended up being a decent size job, with a fair amount of digging for the drains and demo of the old stairs, took a couple weeks to complete the job. Nate was a pleasure to work with, responsive, had great ideas about how to tackle the job, and his pricing was totally fair. Most importantly, as you can see from the pictures, they did excellent work. Finally, they stood behind their work, a few cracks showed up maybe 6 months after the job (100% not their fault, we deal with a driveway that shifts a ton from the weight of a steep slope we are on) and they repaired the cracks no questions asked and free of charge. I know he does jobs much larger than this but he never made our job feel insignificant or unimportant, and followed through like a true pro. I'd use him or recommend him again, no question.

Shady behavior and shoddy work. First, they started 3 weeks behind schedule. Next, they hacked big…read morebranches off my tree without warning. I understand they need clearance for trucks, but I had *just* paid Ponderosa $1125 to trim that very tree, fixing PG&E's previous hack job. You're pavers, not arborists. If you need trimming done, tell me in advance and I'll get it done right. Then, they used illegal gas-powered leaf blowers to shoo leaves off the street: lazy, against the law, and passive-aggressive, as they blew these leaves directly into our driveway--twice. They could've used a leaf vacuum truck or a Black-n-Decker leaf vacuum. They also left two open bottles of chemical slurry (generated from their job) on my neighbor's median strip for several weeks. Any animal or transient could have ingested or knocked over this liquid. Finally, they tore all my posters advertising our driveway concert off my tree, my neighbor's tree, and two street signs. Their micro- and macro- aggressions, disrespectfulness, boorishness and block-headed behavior will not be forgotten.

Well the driveway turned out good…read more However when moving my property around he put my $40,000 boat on the side of my hill and proceeded to not cover it, leaving it exposed then leaf blew the whole driveway, which is about 35 yards long and 20 yards wide at the top. My cherry interior of a boat is now covered in filth and I am the one who gets to clean it. When he put it back on the driveway from the hill, he dropped the items on the swim platform right off the side into the dirt and left it there. Careless and pathetic. Personally wish he would cover a cleaning on my boat and apologize for being unprofessional with a valuable asset of mine.

No bait and switch In ironing out the details, there was some miscommunication about whether staining was included. Dago was able to meet us halfway with the price increase. This honest business style continued throughout the project and no change orders or unexpected price increases happened. 3. Detail oriented Throughout the project, we discussed details such as fence posts placement relative to tree roots, post height, etc. Dago was both available in person and by email via his assistant Maria. It was also nice to have responses confirmed in writing so that things were clear and there would be no bait and switch. 4. Personality Dago is a really nice person and I enjoy speaking with his about his geriatric dogs, etc. This also helped me not feel anxious about the project, because I felt that I could trust him. For this fence, we received multiple quotes. Two companies were in the $9-10K range, another was around $12K, and an outlier was above $20K.
