Sam and his crew did an outstanding job pouring concrete for a walkway and a small designated area located on the side of my garage for garbage carts and recyclable bins. In addition to the concrete work, they did a superb job completing a cinder block wall that remained unfinished for many years. Sam made sure the holes were filled up with cement and rebar as needed to insure its integrity. They put on two coats of plaster, stone veneer on the columns, and caps on the top. The stone veneer and stucco finish are very similar to the material on the front of the house. Sam and his workers are true craftsmen. The appearance of the stone veneer columns is aesthetically pleasing to me. The job was completed on time in about a week, on budget which I considered fair and reasonable for the exceptional quality of workmanship. We needed to have 17' of walkway redone due to tree root intrusion. The walkway is original to building, circa 1972 or so. Came to Yelp and found Sams Concrete Specials would be best suited for this type of job. It was a one day demolition of the old walkway, extensive root cutting, and creating forms with rebar. Sam did a great work for us! We are very happy with the results. What happened? We needed someone to remove our old 784 red brick backyard patio and to replace it with a concrete patio which would curve around our backyard tree and Holywood bamboo bush. We wanted to save them. We also wanted a curved path to connect the new patio at our back gate to our side yard walkway. Then we could walk from the new patio to the front side gate. The problem was that two concrete sections of our old side walkway slanted inward and drained toward the back gate and a third section, under to gate, was just dirt. Sam worked with us to develop a design that saved both the tree and the bush and smoothly connected the new patio to the side walkway. To solve our drainage problem, Sam replaced those three sections at the back gate and connected them with the new patio. At the time, we were not sure how we wanted to landscape around the tree, so Sam suggested we consider that after we had the new patio in. That was a great piece of advice. Now we have a better idea of what will work. While here, we had Sam clean, repair and seal our very dirty flagstone and clean and seal our aggregate patio. At my church I was tasked with transforming the entry area from an unsightly mix of weeds , wood chips, and rocks into something beautiful and welcoming. I got an estimate for a shed foundation, not knowing how expensive it could be. I thought that the estimate was way to expensive. My wife insisted I get more estimates. I went over board and got ten estimates, You can tell a lot from going for to many, but after reviewing them, one stood out, not just for the price, which came in a little lower than middle of the road, but how Sam talked about the project. He gave me a sense of trust that I didn't get from the other nine. He gave it to me straight without the fan fair. OK the best part - After prepping the site of the 8x12 foundation using a Laser level (impressive), it became obvious the surrounding ground drained right on top of the location I wanted the foundation built. My trust went up even more when we discussed options. I chose to go all in to leveling the area to draw the drainage away front the shed. Sam (Sione Lomu) and his crew completed a stamped concrete project in our back patio, replacing the wooden deck, including removing all prior deck materials as well as adding stone tiles to two existing/retained planter boxes. Sam was very patient working with us and provided multiple brochures with color, design and material options.
