This is an amazing coffeeshop with very skilled and knowledgeable baristas. Their espresso roasts are absolutely the smoothest I have had anywhere! The atmosphere is fantastic, many options for lounging or doing work. They even have some boardgames set up in the back area for group visits or dates. I haven't tried their food options but it seems they have quite an impressive selection. Why go to Starbucks or corporate coffee places when you could go here. Help support local businesses crafted by caring individuals that want to share some bomb coffee with the world. We really wanted to try out a new coffee place so decided to drive a little out of our way to give this a shot. I love espresso. I ordered a cappuccino and it was just not my style. The espresso was awful. I didn't even finish it. We also ordered a pumpkin latte and I thought it was ok. We ended up leaving and did not finish either of our drinks. The gentleman that helped us seemed a little less than thrilled to be helping us out. However the place has plenty of seating. I don't think we will be back. read more

It's great to have a real coffee shop in RR, since sometimes I drive 15 miles for a good coffee. The cappuccino is good however, for me to come back the drip coffee needs to get much better. It was very weak and just warm. It would be great if you could start using coffee beans from Ritual. I work out of a coffee shop every day so I might become a daily customer. To my knowledge, this is the only legit coffee shop in Round Rock. What I mean by that is they offer authentic espresso drinks, and not the crap that starbucks pushes like sugary fraps. Visited recently for the first time, got an espresso macchiato, and it was amazing! The espresso roast was smooth, and they did just the right amount of foam. Took an iced coffee to go, good stuff. Such a cute little spot, I've always wanted to come in when I visit my boyfriend. My ticket didn't print and I waited for a coffee that wasn't being made lol, they were super sorry and sweet about it I didn't even mind. They also have $1 off mocha Mondays which was cool! This was my first time at Lamppost Coffee and I'm glad I found it! I came at 2:30 pm and it wasn't crowded like most coffee shops always seem to be. There is plenty of seating and free wifi which are necessities for any coffee shop. Everything on the menu is very well priced! There are the typical options that are available at every coffee shop, but also some drinks unique to Lamppost. I got a cold brew coffee and I was great! It wasn't too watery or bitter like some of the ones I've tried at other places. Since Round Rock High School is so close there were several students here. They aren't a problem, but if you're looking for a super quiet working environment you may want to come during school hours or try somewhere else! I will definitely come back whenever I find myself in the area again read more

What a neat place with such delicious coffee! The menu is extensive and creative. I had an iced Lampa latte with oat milk. It was very sweet with a nutty flavor. So good and unique!! I love that they have tons of different milk options like almond, soy, and oat. The cashier was very friendly and patient with me as well. The vibe of the cafe was super hip and a place I could definitely see myself getting some work done. This is a nice little hidden coffee shop in a strip mall. They have great coffee, fast service, and reasonable prices. Some of the seating could use an upgrade. I love this place. It is so nice to go to a coffee shop that is not Starbucks. The selection may not be as big, but what you get is very good. I love their Moon lattes (both the hot and cold versions). Great location by a safe and friendly neighborhood, and also next to a high school. Tried this place for the first time today. Fantastic! It's a super cute and homely coffee shop. It would be a great place to bring your book and lounge for a while. The customer service is awesome, they keep a lively atmosphere. The shop is super clean and neat. Today I tried the summer moon drink. It was awesome! I got the hot version. I really liked the atmosphere at Lamppost Coffee when I came in with a friend to try them out. We ordered the Winter Moon and the what I believe was called The Boss, (five shots) which I ordered iced. Both the guy who greeted me at the counter and took my order, and the barista were really nice and had great recommendations. The barista had my order up pretty quickly, as well as my friend's. We sat by the window in deep, comfortable chairs at a table. Scanning the room, there were a lot of different seating options - lower chairs with a coffee table, higher tables, regular tables - a really great mix. There was also a really diverse crowd in there too. I noticed some medical students way in the back had spread out with their studying - a great thing to see. There were also a few older couples off in another corner and people like my friend and I scattered about the cafe. Later in the afternoon, a lot of the high school students started streaming in to play card games and hang out. The noise level was chill and it was just a really nice, relaxed atmosphere - truly fantastic. We did enjoy our coffee - I know that I chose a super strong drink. I sipped it carefully and didn't finish it but the coffee taste was more than decent. No bitter, sour, or burnt taste - rich, nutty flavors with a nice warm finish. That's really what I would expect out of a small batch roaster. My drink was a little sweeter than I would have liked, which is also what my friend said of her Winter Moon. We both agreed that we'd like to come back to try other drinks. Four stars for now.. this place is pretty solidly good. read more

This review is true and honest: I love this spot entirely and drink their coffee feverishly. When I don't have their winter moon every morning , life stinks. Conversely when I drink it, everything goes as it should and my hair looks awesome! Then people buy me things and there's a rainbow at every left turn on the drive to work, honest. First morning as a new resident of Austin and missing home (Seattle) needed a good cup of coffee. After checking Yelp for things near me, I found Lamppost Coffee. Was surprised to see so many positive reviews. Now I understand! Had a cold brew coffee and a spinach/egg/cheese taco which I was told was a must for this town. The coffee was amazing and smooth. The taco was tasty and really filling. The best part was the friendliness of the staff! They took the time to understand what each customer was looking for. They asked questions about what style of roast was desired depending on the drink. Being a new coffee house, they also were trying to remember names and make each person feel like a welcome guest. Everything added up to a great experience. Not sure where I will end up living and if it will be close to here, but think I will be back! read more

My wife and I just moved to the Round Rock area from California. We're sort of "coffee snobs" and can really appreciate a coffee shop that does things right. We were very excited when we found Lampost Coffee. They brew (and sell) coffee by local Austin roasters, which is a plus. We often buy whole bean coffee bags to brew at home too, and are never disappointed. When I'm in the mood for something sweet, my drink of choice is an iced Vanilla Latte. I'm always extremely pleased with the way they make it, and it might be the best one I've ever had. My wife mixes it up and likes to try different things, but she also loves everything she's tried. Lastly, the service is always top notch, which very important to us. The baristas are always very friendly and make our visits that much more enjoyable. read more

Jordan and the rest of the staff are awesome. They definitely know how to pull shots, do pour overs, and make coffee drinks for coffee drinkers (aka cortados, espressos, pour overs, etc). They also make those sweet drinks for those who dont like coffee (aka lattes, mochas, etc). I hear those are great too! This place rocks! A legit 3rd wave coffee shop. Where do I start....this is a cute little coffee shop! The Barista's were great! I came here because its close by and it was new. I love trying new coffee places so I figured why not. My friend had told me about moon milk and how I just had to try coffee with it. So when I walked in and saw they offered a winter moon (iced coffee) I just had to get it! I am so glad I did! I have been in two days in a row and I am hooked ;) I have no idea what is in moon milk (besides apparently Unicorn tears lol) but I can't get enough! A great local coffee spot in Round Rock area. We came in to give a try and lamppost did not disappoint us. The noise was chill, nice place to hangout. It is spacious, open and comfortable . Great mix of seating options - lower chairs with coffee table, large sofas, high stools. There was also a diverse crowd in there. We had Summermoon latte and bagel with cream cheese. The order was made up quickly and the staff at the counter was courteous and easily struck a friendly conversation. Coffee is everything that is hyped to at Lamppost. Great to have a legit coffee shop right here in Round Rock. Plenty of open space, with simple chair and tables to the couch and coffee table type setting. There is also some artwork on the walls which adds to the relaxed atmosphere presented. The service and the product (the variety of coffee) is excellent. The knowledge of the variety of coffees by the staff is amazing. So if your like me, knowing little about coffee, be prepared to be educated :). Ahhhh, Lamppost -- easily my favorite place to waste a few hours!! It is exactly what Round Rock previously lacked - a comfortable & convenient coffee shop with friendly staff & excellent drinks. I've pretty much worked this place into my daily routine ever since I discovered it in February. It's everything you'd hope for in a coffee shop! You can't beat the drinks at Lamppost - some of my favorites include the signature wintermoon latte, the boss (mocha w/ 4 espresso shots! WAHOOOOOO!), and the lavender lemonade. The menu is extremely creative and even features delicious food and pastry options MADE IN HOUSE! Every morning you can find an awesome breakfast selection, including tasty breakfast tacos, specialty biscuits, & pancakes. The staff is friendly and engaging, and they will make sure you are satisfied with your order. The owner, Brian, is a truly amazing person that I've had the pleasure of getting to know through Lamppost. Lamppost has a great atmosphere with ample space for both studying & socializing. The music is a perfect coffee shop playlist. Karaoke night & game night are a couple of the fun events hosted here. I've seen the back room occasionally reserved for group meetings. Quick tip: currently they don't have a sign on the wall above the shop showing where it is. It's in the corner near Taquerias Arandinas and The Book Spot. Love this place! The staff are always super nice and helpful. They actually want you to know what you're getting and make sure that you like it. They want to make you feel welcome, and will chat you up instead of just taking your order and moving on. One thing I've never experienced anywhere else is that when you order an Americano, you get to choose from three different espressos to go into it. Very cool. And delicious. They have a bookcase with games, a few couches and comfy chairs, and bar seating curving around the espresso machine. This place is awesome! read more

Good coffee, they offer summer moon coffee which is great with moon milk but they need to offer more sizes. Customer service is great for being my first time there. I ordered a summer moon latte decaf which was great , much better than Starbucks with out the hype and there was plenty of seating snd a great place to hang out with free wifi. It in a strip mall next to round rock high school. I would return but please offer more sizes. I was thinking I might have to order two drinks to get enough coffee. read more
