Why are you closed? I was told my lamp would be in last Thursday January 6th. No phone call! You already have my money!

Really frustrated with Lamps Plus. Purchased a chandelier and matching pendant light, was told the items would arrive in 5 business days. Only one item arrived and the other now on back order. No communication at all from the sales associate, I had to call to get any information. Associate says she will check with another store and call me back....or course no return call, so I called again. No update on another store having the item, so I ask about the floor model. Associate tells me I have to wait two days to pick up the floor model, doesn't really make sense? Then tells me my order will arrive on Tuesday, but I have no confidence at all in what she says. Not sure how my order went from being on backorder to two day delivery in a matter of minutes. Went ahead and cancelled my order and they lost over $400 of business. Update 11/28/15 - I'm updating my earlier review. The district manager, Gary Contreras, contacted me regarding my review and was genuinely apologetic regarding my experience at the store. Gary explained they were transitioning to a new PO system and that attributed to the confusion with my order. He also offered to personally handle my order, if I was still interested. I really loved the lamps and accepted his offer, along with a discount for my troubles. I honestly did not expect them to read my review, much less take the time to contact me and offer assistance. Thank you Lamps Plus for taking the time to make things right on my order. Very nice job in following through on customer service. read more

My wife and I decided to purchase a chandelier from Lamps Plus instead of Lowe's or Home Depot. Big mistake. The service was terrible! We were not notified when our chandelier arrived. The installation company finally called us to schedule the install, but Lamps Plus never called to tell us the chandelier was in. I was finally able to get a hold of a manger who told me that is was ready for pick-up. When I arrived to pick it up, the staff couldn't find it. After many apologies and over 30 minutes, they finally found it. Awful service when purchasing, then no call to say it was delivered, and then poor service at pick-up. This was actually the second try we gave Lamps Plus. The first time my wife and I showed up 30 minutes before closing to buy outdoor lights for our patio, and after 15 minutes of no sales person helping us, a lady walks up and introduces herself. We asked her if she could dim and brighten the lighting on some of the outdoor lighting and she responded "yes, but you'll have to come back tomorrow because we are about to close for the day". We responded that we had already been there for 15 minutes, to which she replied "Well we will be open tomorrow morning".. Avoid Lamps Plus.... read more

John Paul is awesome. He's at least 75% of the reason I shop here. I could buy lights online, but it really helps to have a knowledgeable sales person with a great personality. We have been buying light fixtures here for several years for multiple dental offices and for homes, and we are always pleased with the products and services. read more

Our experience would be 6 stars if that were an option. We recently bought 5 ceiling fans from Lamps Plus. The one in the bedroom made a slight but annoying sound when running. Lamps Plus, both the sales person and manager, were very proactive in getting it resolved. In fact they were pushing me to get the replacement scheduled. Products are unique with reasonable prices. I liked those and actually purchased some items here. The store staffs there were very gentle. However the delivery staffs were horrible. I placed an order for a $300 shelf and received broken one two times. In the end I settled for a floor sample with some scratches and missing corner. I could not get any discount although the sample was sold with price tag at $199. read more

The associate who helped me, Steve W, was so nice and helpful! He showed me 4-5 chandeliers that fit what I was looking for, and answered all my questions. The store was clean and beautiful. We have been so incredibly disappointed with this place. We bought two outdoor fans for our patio and neither have worked correctly from the very beginning. When the remotes didn't work originally, I had to call no less than about ten times to get anything to happen. Nobody knew how to help, and I'd always get a promise of a call back that never came. They finally sent me new receivers which, when installed, still didn't work properly. Since then -- at least six weeks ago -- I've been on the exact same cycle. When I can get a manager on the phone, he will make a promise then not deliver -- every time. It's ridiculous. We wish we'd never set foot in this place and I'd advise you not to either. read more

One of my fixtures broke called and spoke with Linda and she went the extra mile to locate a model number so we could reorder the diffuser only. Pretty lousy service from Yav. Completely apathetic and uninterested in making a sale. He told us they didn't have the ceiling lamp in stock. Asked if we could take the floor model. Sure but it's as-is. If it's broken, no returns. Huh? Don't you stand behind your products? Nope. Ok. How about at least throwing in the used bulbs that are in the lamp? Nope. Can we speak to a manager. Nope. He's not here. Spent all our time hearing what they can't do instead of what they can do. My family was in the retail business and I can tell you that Lamps Plus service is pretty bad. Seems to be a pattern if you read through the other reviews. There are better places in DFW where you are treated like a customer rather than a inconvenience. Update: I had asked Yav if it was on sale. He said no. Checked their website the next day and sure enough it is in fact on sale, $30 cheaper. This guy couldn't even muster enough energy to check that for us. read more

I don't usually write reviews, but the service that I received at Lamps Plus in Plano was OUTSTANDING! I went into the store with a vague idea of what lighting I wanted in my living and dining area. After looking around for a few minutes, I was greeted by a member of the sales team. He was extremely friendly and I explained what I was looking for. He offered to set up an appointment to come out to my house if we couldn't figure it out together. Although the offer was appreciated, it wasn't needed because he knew exactly what I had in mind. I came in to the store and I needed some down rod attachments there was none in the back, so John went above and beyond and got a ladder and was able to pull them from other fixtures on display allowing me to have them today instead have to get another order a week later. Thank you John! read more

My salesperson was very helpful and wanted to provide excellent service. She presented options and solutions to my issue. Unfortunately, the manager of the store was more focused on his challenge to handle my issue with the manufacturer of the lamp that I purchased. I am of the opinion that dealing with the manufacture is not my issue, as I purchased the lighting fixture from his organization in good faith. The manager of this store should take some time and listen to his sales people. It was obvious that the store manager was focused on protecting his bottom line profit. He should realize that good customer service will lead to growth in top line sales and overall profit. He has just lost future sales with me. read more

SIMPLE REVIEW: HORRID, POOR AND INCOMPETENT service... exactly what a business should not be. Staff took FOREVER to meet and greet me, nevertheless ask if I needed help. When finally approached by a sales associate (Erin) she was helpful in placing an order for two mirrored night stands. However, she was not informative whatsoever in the process of doing so as far as delivery options. While we placed an ONLINE ORDER from the store, I was asked for my address and information. I assume that if she's entering my address which is obvious it's an apartment she would make sure to COMMUNICATE the fact that their delivery is FedEx and they deliver outside the door, or perhaps that she could make sure she could have them text me or do something about not leaving furniture outside my door perhaps call me prior or require a signature?! It was only after the order had been placed and my card charged that I asked about this... I was waiting for her to communicate this to me prior to running the card and assumed it was coming but since that didn't happen when I asked for the option to have the items shipped in store she said if we wanted them shipped we needed to cancel this order, do another one but a hold in my card would be made... so I asked if she can then just make sure FedEx or their delivery would not just leave them outside somewhere rather notify me. She said she would take care of it. Apparently, she didn't. The items got delivered one nightstand at 10am... another at 5:45pm WHERE?!?! I have no clue. For sure NOT my apartment and or apartment complex. When I called the following day after delivery the store and asked to speak to NICK, the manager... his poor management skills did absolutely nothing to either calm me down from such a mess, nor gave a clear resolution of the situation. When i explained the issue he said I WAS ASSUMING THINGS AND THAT MY DELIVERY WAS IN THE OFFICE... No Nick, I am NOT assuming things... and no sir I did not receive any furniture.. I have $400+ worth of furniture floating somewhere and assuming gets me nowhere... in need answers and a resolution hence why i called YOU the manager to give me one. Based on his "resolution" which was technically nothing but to figure out what happened I can tell the store personnel is probably a reflection of the poor management. Erin probably doesn't know better because the poor training and customer service management has isn't that great either. I called LAMPS PLUS 1800 number on their site and the customer service was by far more INFORMATIVE, UNDERSTANDING AND ELOQUENT than the store manager himself. I will NEVER AGAIN, purchase from here, refer, or bother to even contact the store for I was not given a proper solution to my problem besides we have to wait 7-10 business days to refund you or give you a resolution as to what happened. We were looking for a new chandelier for our entryway of our new house. Our sales consultant, Steve Waldren, showed us a beautiful 5' crystal chandelier that was perfect and what we were looking for. Steve placed the order and the piece was delivered quickly. The chandelier is now hanging in our entryway and we could not be happier. Don't know what is up at this place. I've bought several things and when you have a concern- it's usually goes to one person to another and 30 min later they approach you. I remodeled my house last year and had to replace many light and chandeliers yet when I asked about a sale section. They immediate look down on you, or immediately without checking we don't have it. Can you match the price? No it's seems when they have traffic many consultants barely want to help a guest with small stuff. I ended up spending about 2k at Home Depot. I encourage you folks to have a smile and greet customers with a warm smile. When asked a question actually look at a guest, acknowledge that you care and come up with solutions. I do watch when constants look around, when I ask them a question as they hoped they were helping someone else. I'm not sure if this is a commission environment or not. But got to say- most of your staff would care less. If I had a way to give you folks 0 I would've. After 2-3 visit I decided not to do business here at Plano Store. People not listening Management not available and asking what did he or she say. You should have a determination to have a leaders mind and role to please every customer. To shepherd the flock well. It's not always about having a bigger sale but the one who you help, I'm long run you will get a huge referral from them. Because that service was phenomenal. So please get off your high horse and know your merchandise rather then always responding no. He is very patient and he knows the merchandise well. He has gotten to know the scope of my remodel project in detail, which I greatly appreciate. We recently built a new home and were in need of many fixtures and fans. I might add we drove all the way from Denton. Our first visit was ok but yesterday we were very disappointed. Edith was very helpful but the store manager has a lot to learn about customer service. He was curt and acted as if he was too busy to help us with our problem. (I've been meaning to write this review for a long time Just got around to doing so) My wife and I have visited this location for several months on different occasions, the first few times we had ok experiences and very little help and knowledge from the staff as we were there just looking and comparing merchandise and pricing to those of Online and other retailers. UNTIL FINALLY we had a confirmed date of the finishing of our home. We went back to finalize our selections, we were greeted and assisted by Raul. Raul did not only wanted to sell, he wanted to help and asked up very "challenging" questions. Like, for example, "I understand your theme you are going for, but is this design really a good fit for the rest of your house and does it compliment your other lights?" I said, well I've never even thought about that, he walked with us thru the whole store and showed us catalogs and the website to show us what he meant. (I appreciated such efforts). After 1.5 hrs we, wife and I, became "experts" in lighting and design because of him. Believe it or not..we left shocked and impressed. We went home with out a purchase that day. BUT we went home to have a meeting of the minds and rethink everything..HE WAS RIGHT!!! We had picked so many styles and too many finishes that we couldn't stop laughing. He was on point. He offered to do some research on our behave and email us options..which he did..he emailed us within 2 days with 3 different groupings of lights..and all were oh so right on target on what WE wanted to accomplish. Raul was not only nice he was helpful and truthful and honest, he had our best interest at heart and I appreciated that more than anything. I asked him if they worked on commission and his response was, "NO, I just wanted for you to make a wise decision on your investment and anyone can help you once you have finalized your options". I already knew they DID work on commission because several of the other sales people (older females) on my previous visits made it clear to me...HUGE TURN OFF!!! NOT RAUL..and this alone made me a potential loyal customer. WELL after such a great visit and so much input and advice..we went back to see Raul and place our order for our entire house and we get the news that he no longer worked there WE BOTH WERE SHOCKED!!! I was besides myself. I asked, if we placed this particular order would he get all the credit for the sale. She said, NO because he no longer worked there and she would be doing all the work! (in a very ugly tone btw) THAT RIGHT THERE was very off putting. She wasn't and hadn't done all the work..HE DID..WOW!!! JUST WOW!!! As I was walking out I asked another sales person why Raul no longer worked there. She said,"I would love to tell you but it just isn't my place." After insisting, she finally told me, "It had to do a lot with Management and their unwillingness to help him. She said, He never asked for much help from anyone but this one time he was depending on his managers and they let him down. So he decided, If they are not willing to help me why should I help them, and he walked out." SHOCKING!!!! Yet not surprised. Retailers now a days are very cut throat specially when they have sales people working on commission. The rest of the sales team don't possess what he had, the willingness to sincerely help. Needless to say after that comment about "i'm doing all the work" I will never be back. Just for the record after adding all of my selections the total amount of my purchased would had been (before tax) $32,378.67 ..needless to say..although I would had rather had Raul get this sale..i had to go to another lighting store and place my order..BTW that salesperson, was impressed by "MY" selection. RAUL...IF YOU READ THIS...THANK YOU SO MUCH AND I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST IN LIFE!!! SINCERELY THE JOHNSONS. That is the reason the store gets 2 stars..other sales people are to eager to get a sale but not willing to help. BUT Raul gets 5 STARS..and you have read why! read more

Remodeling guest bathroom went into Lamps Plus looking for lamps. Browsed around and Steve approached me asking if I needed assistance. Told him what I was looking for . Wanted brushed nickel, Edison bulbs. Steve asked me some qualify questions & proceeded to show me diffident styles . I chose a few & then Steve showed me on the computer how I could change them to fit my needs. Steve was very helpful, knowledgeable & professional. Good selection. The customer service was personable for sure...this guy talked for hours on end about everything from lighting to flooring, etc. They have different sizes of various fixtures too, so if you like a particular style, but you want it bigger/smaller, they might be able to accommodate your desire. They also have other items like vases and mirrors. If you're in the market, swing by because they just might have something that tickles your fancy. read more

I was on the hunt to find a specific lamp and was ecstatic to find that this particular lamps plus had one available on their store. + they have an online option to check to see if the lamp you want is in stock and someone from the store is supposed to call you back so you don't waste your time. Definitely loved this... but my story doesn't end here. - Came to the store waited for about 15-20 to finally find a sales person to help me after unsuccessfully finding the shade myself. took another 15-20 minutes for them to find the right person who called me back to say it was in stock. took another 10-15 minutes for her to tell me that yes it is in stock but it was already sold earlier and was not available for purchase. ... now for the life of me why would it still say that it was in stock in store if it was sold?!? Big waste of my time! Maybe lamps plus need to clarify In stock versus available because obviously just because it was still physically in the store but already sold does not mean it is in stock. read more

I would avoid this place at all costs. I have never been to a place with more arrogant, ignorant and self important employees. The only person that I found worth a damn was the gentlemen who helped me get the box out to the car, but that was only AFTER he noticed I was watching and standing right beside him. They are extremely overpriced, especially for the quality they're delivering. The said fact is that this isn't reflective of their online CS. I just had a delivery that was damaged and the women on the phone was absolutely exceptional and courteous. Not only did she help me with the return, she also noticed that the price had dropped and gave me a refund for the difference without my prompting or asking. I was disappointed in the service from the very start. The sales person who assisted me had been on the floor for 4 days and couldn't tell me what they had in stock that I could carry home with me today after choosing. So after doing some searching I found a ceiling light fixture and a fan with fan light kit that I wanted which took about 10 minutes. 90 minutes later, the sales person had misled me on pricing and availability and spent over 60% of the time in the back room searching for sku #s. I finally had to ask a manager to get involved and asked for a discount and even he was frustrated not only with his sales person, but the cashier, who couldn't get the order correct. Not to mention, I was never called with notice of the fan motor that they were picking up from the warehouse. After calling and being on the phone for 17 minutes and being passed around to the original sales person, I was alerted that the motor was in fact onsite. I understand having new employees but I would hope there would be a more robust training if there is a wish to focus on customer service. I would also hope that with the prices, customer service would be better. read more

The staff is knowledgeable, and very helpful. Lamps Plus also has a small selection of furniture, and decorative items. They have a large catalog of prints and art. Prices range from pretty inexpensive (under $50) for sale items, to thousands of dollars for the chandeliers. The lighting covers a wide range of styles, from traditional to contemporary. read more

My experience with Sue Bender @ Lamps plus was amazing. I must have visited the store at least 4 times as I had to buy several chandeliers and one fan. Sue would listen carefully and remember what I needed. My shopping would not end at me being at the store. It would continue with Sue continuing my search at the store when she was not with customers. Also, I must add the whole staff was very courteous. Every time I called, I got great help from the staff. Khadeeja, Sarisa, Patty, Rick, and Nick are some of the names I remember and they were all very helpful. I ended up purchasing close to $2500 of merchandise which was well selected with help from the staff. One key thing was the summer sale, it worked great for me. When I first entered the store I thought it would be very expensive and not the store for me, but after careful searching with help from the staff you can really find some really nice deals. Found the perfect fan a little over priced but it was local. The sales woman was ok I did all my research before going. However she misinformed us of insulation. When I called to find out why I had not been contacted they said I had no contract with them and no sale on file. It was very frustrating and when they said they would call me back they never did . When I called back they said I gave them a wrong phome number. Their customer service is possibly the worse I've ever experienced. They ended up finding my order and I have my fan I love but WILL NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN!!!!!! There was no apology for the mis understanding!!! read more
