Thanks to the folks at WMSFS, I got all the right terms tackle I needed, with a diagram of how to setup the bobber rig. Took their advice to go with raw shrimp for bait. Squeezed in a lesson with Scott at 8 am before my 1 pm flight. I'm so happy that I did. I came…read moretotally unprepared, but was relieved that Scott had everything I needed, long sleeve rash guard and water shoes. He also equipped us with surfboards that were perfect for our height and weight. We started off with a quick simple lesson on shore to teach us the basics and then we went out into the ocean. We couldn't have picked a better beach or a better day to go. The conditions were incredible! Scott's energy was on another level, and got us super pumped up and excited to catch waves. He's a super cool and charismatic dude and really fun to be around. He's very motivating and makes sure you get your moneys worth and catch a ton of waves. Everybody in our group caught 25-30 waves at least! In other lessons, I've never been able to get up on my own, but by the end of this lesson, I was getting up by myself every time!! Thank you to Scott for the best surfing experience I've had in my life, what a great way to end an epic trip to Maui! Will be back soon!

I played here on May 17th, 2026…read more I got the " aerification " rate of $300. The course was a fun layout. However, the greens have been hit hard by a fungus in the last year. Now I know the real reason the PGA pulled the event this year. They are INSANE for charging the rate of $475 starting on June 1. The greens will take a year to recover. They'll need to punch ( large Tyne and small Tyne ) multiple times this year to get rid of the damage caused by fungus. I was disappointed at the cost of $300. I'd be pissed if a paid $475.

Word…read moreto the the wise, please plan to arrive 15 minutes early, so you don't delay the rest of the group and you don't get left behind. They provide a granola bar and a bottle of water. And bathrooms are near by. If you don't have a hat, they have some to borrow. But i highly recommend a hat and sunglasses. They provide the life vests, kayaks, snorkel equipment and dry bags if needed. If you wear glasses, I highly recommend that you rent a optical mask prior to your snorkel trip so you don't miss out on all the fun things to see. Also, highly recommend a pouch for your phone so you can take pictures. We had planned on renting snorkel equipment the day before so that the seven year old cooks try it and get used to the mask. This didn't happen and it maybe would have helped, as jumping off a kayak into deep water, plus adding a weird mask in which you can't use your nose and adding the snorkel was quite overwhelming. Ryan was our guide and was great. Our family was the only group in which everyone had kayaking experience. Most people were new to both. Ryan did a great job explaining everything and making sure that everyone was safe and having fun. He also talked about the different islands near the end. We had a fabulous time. Saw many turtles and fish feeding on the reefs. The views both above and below the water were amazing.

There was parking across the street, and Maui Ocean Sports was easy to find in the back of the complex. The front desk guy and our guide, Luke, were super friendly. Our group of 4 and the other group of 3 in our time slot had all kayaked before, so we got minimal instruction. We saw so many turtles on our paddle out! It was beautiful on the water and we had the best time! They provide water and you can borrow a dry bag if you don't have one, and leave stuff in a cabinet - we left towels and a change of clothes (restroom on the property and place to rinse right off the beach).
