Took my daughter and had an appointment at 8 am!! They have software training!! They don't bother to tell you this until you are sitting and waiting for half an hour!!!! Like they are quick to charge you for not showing up but let them be unprofessional and choose to do training on client time! That's the whole purpose of appointments. Our time is valuable too and it's not like it free and you are helping kids out out of charity or sum! I rather drive to Santa Clarita to a children's dentist out there than down the street to wait 2hr to be seen because all the 8 o'clock and prob 830 patients waiting!! This place is awesome. We have taken our child (who has special needs) to about 4 dentists in his life. He has been tied down, told his parents left, crazy stories. He hates the dentist. This morning we woke up for our dentist appointment. He was so happy to go brush his teeth, put on cologne, and look good for the dentist. I asked him why he was so happy this time to go to the dentist. He said "Because this ones better than palmdale, and they poked my mouth with shots to get the yucky out. And they sung to me to make me not cry. This ones better" Literal words sorry. Yes they actually sung to him to make him feel better and it worked. Deffinately pay for gas. And it is fast getting him in the chair as soon as we parked, literally no wait time. All-in-all a great new place for him to go! read more

My daughter's first time at the dentist she's always been pretty scared going to a doctor appointment but she did very well! They were very fast with the appointment asked me if I had any questions or concerns. The doctor listened to my concerns and was very patient with my crying 2 year old while cleaning her teeth. They give you a cute tooth ring for kids in a goodie bag and my daughter loves the tooth ring!! We love it here!!! My son has been coming to this office since he was 2 years of age. Our first visit was more of an emergency visit due to him falling and hitting his front tooth. We have tried other offices due to our insurance changing and nothing compared to the staff and service we receive from Lancaster Children's Dental. Dr. Sade was amazing today, my son had his first major treatment (primary extractions due to crowding). She was patient (allowing my son time to cry and express his fears in between extractions) & professional (explaining the process of treatment in a way he understood). Dr. Sade also created a fun environment (my son loved her shark hand) for my child to feel comfortable enough to allow her to work quickly and confidently. We decided to leave her old dentist office for Lancaster Children's Dental. The nurses and doctors make her less nervous because they are very bubbly throughout the exam. I was able to book an appointment for a crack tooth immediately for the following day. Again my son always nervous felt no pain and didn't realized the procedure was over with. Probably the most terrible medical(dental) visit I've experienced for my son. My son is on the spectrum and lacks comprehension with verbal directions and long explanations. After Dr James Skahen walked in and apologized for my last appointment being delayed by HOURS and needing to be rescheduled last minute, I forewarned Dr James of my sons disability prior to beginning the treatment for his fillings. He proceeded to take the time to thoroughly explain the process to my son who had NO IDEA what he was even talking about. He explains to my son that he needs to keep his feet and body still or the tools will really injure him. After he told him that the nitrogen may upset his stomach and to raise his left hand if he's feeling nauseous, I again told him that he doesn't understand those directions. He looks at me and says "What makes you think that he doesn't understand what I'm saying".....As if I'm not his mother who birthed him and lives with him, I gently responded that he is still learning left and right and is not very comprehensive with verbal directions and/or explanations unfortunately. (he is also 5 years old) He instead of listening to me asks my son to demonstrate raising his left hand. (My son raised both hands) he told him to wave his left hand. My son stared at him not knowing what he was talking about. Having a child with developmental challenges already is difficult to deal with. This doctor instead of listening to me, chose to be condescending and humiliate me with a demonstration of my sons inability. A total JERK!!!!!!! I plan to use my platform and network to WIDELY PROMULGATE this experience and tell everyone that I know to not bring their children to this dental office. It was a HUMILIATING experience. I will escalate this matter as high as it goes. read more

I usually speak very highly of this dentist office however, after today's visit I was highly disappointed. The lack of professionalism in the dental assistant Gaby is disgusting. I have been taking my daughter here for over 2 years (she's almost 5) and today was our second attempt at filling a cavity. The first time we tried, my daughter freaked out didn't let them fully finish their work. Today was our rescheduled appointment that was just to finishing the filling. Again my daughter freaked out while her dad was with her in the room so I switched in. The moment I went in I could tell the assistants were frustrated with my daughter, understandably so, she was screaming and not sitting still so I could totally get why they were. What I don't get is how someone that is working with kids can be so impatient and rude to a child! Gaby had an attitude and a raised tone when talking to my daughter and I let it slide. What sent me over the edge and what I will not stand for was the way Gaby aggressively fixed the nose guard used for the nitrous oxide on my daughters face. It's one thing to be upset but when you're working with children understanding and patience should be your best quality. I'm strongly considering taking my children elsewhere because the dentist didn't help the situation at all. I was waiting for the dentist to come to and tell me she was sorry and that she would talk with Gaby about her unprofessionalism but she didn't. read more

Lancaster Children's Dental is amazing. They are always responsive and quick to answer when I have questions or need to schedule an appointment. The entire staff is friendly, warm, and welcoming. They are great with kids. I take both my two and ten year old to them and I love that I can book appointments for both the boys in the same day and at the same time. It's so convenient!
