Dear Lancaster Host...(GOLF COURSE) Dear COURSE Mgt. It seams the last 3 or 4 years with the Virus, the flue and even staff shortages you are having a bad string of luck. But I worked your course... From fairway mowers, to raking traps or even power raking traps.... Being retired I loved it! Then the BUG Hit... I traveled 2 separate seasons just to be told "everything is on hold" the 3rd year I was told "No course to be repaired" so I drove back to TUCSON where I live, but within a few days I was called back. 6 days later you were closed again. Disappointed to say the least! Well I just crushed I just spent this year with Habitat For Humanity. Finished this year's winter project. Swang by your course (Nov 1st 2022) What a disaster!!! How can I apply for your 2023 season? It's been going on now 4 seasons but crap give me a mower, a brush hog and a chain saw... LET Me WORK!!! read more

The golf course has 17 holes, no pro shop, no food /beverage, mold on 6 of the 8 back nine holes and they just raised their prices to $40 weekdays/$45 weekends. Prices were 30/35 one month ago, but just changed. No driving range, putting green is barely puttable. To their credit mgmt. trying to upgrade the course, but progress is slow and they raise the prices!! No senior rates (99% of courses have senior rates). I'm afraid all the upgrade money will be wasted as most people who play here will only do it once....and they will tell their friends to avoid as there are plenty of courses in Lancaster/York areas at lower rates and much better quality. Also, not offered in TeeTime Golf Pass or the Victory Pass...mgmt. does not know their market, used to be a good facility. Sad. read more

2 1/2 Stars. I wanted a quick getaway to Dutch Wonderland and decided to stay here due to its location - just a short walk to the park. Location-wise, it was awesome. We were able to spend half a day in the park, walk back to the hotel and relax a bit, change clothes (we went to the water park area) and go back until the park closed. You can walk to many restaurants. In terms of the hotel, it was acceptable. They are undergoing a much-needed renovation. The lobby is gorgeous. The staff are very nice and accommodating. The first room we went to reeked of cigarette smoke, despite it being a non-smoking hotel. The hotel is huge (not in terms of height - it's "sprawling") so we were quite a distance from the lobby, but they came to us with keys to another room. They apologized profusely and said the cleaners should have let them know. It can be quite a hike to the rooms so after we dropped our stuff, we moved the car to be closer to the entrance to our area of the hotel. The room was adequate for our two-night stay. The bedroom area was well-worn, but I thought it was clean. Bedding including pillows were clean. The carpet and furniture were worn. There was a flat screen TV. In terms of the cable TV channels, I thought it was odd that there were very few family-friendly/kids channels given the number of families that stay there. The bathroom needed a complete gut but was okay for a short stay. There are two pools. We did not use either but both looked nice. When renovation is complete, this could really be a jewel of a hotel in that area. In the meantime, it serves its purpose. The location and price were right. Good Wi-Fi. If you decide to stay here, have realistic expectations based on the reviews. I doubt there is a perfect room in the hotel at this point, but it's so huge, if you get to your room and find it truly unacceptable, ask to change. read more

I visited here in July 2017 with some members of my association to check it out as a possible conference venue. They are remodeling and they showed us a guest room that is in the process of being remodeled. So far so good, but we didn't get to actually see the finished product. We were told by Sales that all of the rooms should be updated "hopefully" by March 2018. Most people know that construction projects almost always go longer than expected, unfortunately. We were also told that this hotel will soon be a Wyndam hotel. This might be a good thing. My room was clean, There was a bluish colored stain on the floor (pen ink?) but no biggie. The water pressure in the shower was great! Although, my associates said theirs wasn't so great. The rooms have no microwave and no refrigerator in them. I believe it was an extra $25 for a mini-fridge. There was coffee, however. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked fine. Although it was set to 54 degrees and it didn't feel that cold. Ice bucket was found in the bathroom. Our meeting room was efficient, however, it was way too hot and when we asked maintenance to help with that he seemed to have a major attitude and the room stayed hot anyway. A last minute request for a phone with conference call capabilities was met quickly. On our tour of the property, the meeting rooms we were shown, in general, were dingy and dank. They smelled terrible and had bugs flying all over. They were very outdated and I would honestly be embarrassed to have our conference there. Not to mention that their prices were not that great. We had our last conference at the Kalahari in the Poconos for $10 cheaper per person and that included the water park! And we were told the renovations to the meeting spaces would not be completed by next May (our conference). The indoor pool looked nice and it is open until 11pm. The outdoor pool is huge and looked clean. There are a lot of lounge chairs there and a hut that looks like a bar. We were told they sometimes serve food and beverages there, but when the renovation is complete that will be taken out. The bar inside the hotel looks beautiful and sits right across from the check in desk. However, that is closed on weekdays. That alone might be a deal breaker for a weekday conference! When this place is renovated we would definitely consider coming here. It is in a great location close to just about anything, including two outlet malls and tons of eateries. Uber into Lancaster cost around $15. It has lots of potential. read more

I stayed here for 4 days in October 2014 for a conference. I only stayed here because the conference was at the "resort". The convenience of getting to the conference and the nice look of the lobby are perhaps the only positive's I have to say about this location. They shouldn't really advertise as a resort or charge a resort price if the amenities and rooms resemble something like a motel. The rooms were dark and dingy. The bathroom was dated and in need of maintenance/upgrades. Room service forgot my cutlery and the food was average. They could not do a late checkout despite not having my room on time for check in. The free wifi was really poor. The signal was weak in my room and too laggy to stream Netflix or use FaceTime. So I used my cellular service data plan which was much faster ( wifi should normally be faster!). So overall I'd say the location is overpriced and not as advertised, so I would not stay here again. Got offer thru Groupon. Groupon is usually good with their products & hotels. Indoor pool closed as well as gym closed for renovation even after calling prior to checking in that was open per hotel. Outdoor pool appears to be nice however padlocked all day. If you have suitcases you have to walk up very narrow stairs, no elevators. Many Cigarette butts outside my room which I don't even smoke. Wifi is horrible but we offer free wifi. Construction of building is in effect. 8am they start drilling,jack hammering,etc. couldn't lower a/c in room but had to have on or your couldn't breathe in room. Very disappointed in stay at this hotel. read more

The Lancaster Host is awful. It's a worn property that needs a total makeover or tear down. EVENT PROBLEMS: Our group arrived to set up a two day conference in their main theater space. We found severe problems. Rain was leaking into the seating space through two places. The worst was backstage. Rain was leaking onto the tiles and dangerously close to the main power where our production gear would be. The auditorium smelled badly. The adjacent food prep space was dirty and cluttered. We found rotting food and no ceiling tiles. Rainwater was leaking onto serving trays. We pulled the event and moved to The Doubletree Resort. The hotel is slowly renovating. But posted building permits show the roof was bad before our event. They booked us and hoped it wouldn't rain. That's unscrupulous. We observed a crew of four working the roof for 2 days which means this job will not be done soon. I talked with the roofers. The crew would have worked on the auditorium roof while our event was happening. Unacceptable. Our AV gear came on 5 pallets. Two were backstage near the wet. It's a 2nd story service entrance which means all our gear had to be forklifted down in the rain. The other 3 were found in the nearby Expo Center which is under complete renovation. The Lancaster Host parked $25,000 of electronics in an unsecured, dusty construction site! LODGING PROBLEMS: Our group of 10 stayed 4 nights. My TV in #507 never worked despite multiple complaints. An outlet is covered with masking tape and a large red stain is on the floor. Coworkers' rooms had problems like stains, 2 clogged sinks and 1 non-flushing toilet. Over 5 days, we overheard numerous guest complaints with similar room problems. The place is shabby and worn. The carpet is stained, ceiling tiles are damaged and stained. FOOD: I don't recommend eating here. Our group went to Walmart our first night to stock up on non-perishable foods. Management swears what we saw was no longer a food prep area, that food is prepared in a different part of the complex. Perhaps. Our event meals would likely been delivered through that space. We also saw plates, trays, chafing dishes and table numbers deployed like they are in use. STAFF: The employees were terrific. Seriously. They are not responsible for the conditions and are doing their jobs in stressful situations. I saw them working hard. They were calm when guests were upset. They directed our attendees to the new conference site. Jeremy in maintenance stayed late with the forklift carefully bringing expensive AV gear down from the stage. Nadir (or Adir?) helped us find our missing gear. I saw him troubleshoot other problems. The sales director who booked us was nice, but we neither respect nor trust him. The situation was so bad that the owner arrived. The event director was instructed to hand deliver our check. CONCLUSION: Events- Do not book this hotel for an event. There are good, dry meeting rooms on site. The facility may eventually be fixed. But they absolutely screwed us which shows their ethics. We got our event money back. But we spent way more on the new event, catering, overtime, printing, truck rental. Heck, I bought every last E-Track tie down strap in the Tractor Supply store! Lodging- So-so. This is a 2 star hotel or motel. This is no longer a luxury resort. We saw nothing resembling the old website photos. It is clean. Your stay will be ok if you expect some problems. read more

Where to start, I booked three nights at this hotel through Groupon. It took me nearly three weeks to even decide where I wanted to stay, I needed the hotel to have a kids room and a pool since I have a five year old son. When I came across this place on groupon, I got excited since I saw that it had a HEATED indoor pool and a kids room. Although it was a three hour drive from where I live, I was willing to make the trip to spend a relaxing time with my family. When I got to the "resort", the main lobby looked nice, staff was friendly when checking me in, can't complain about that. When I started heading to my room was where I noticed some things I didn't like off the bat. The hallways had a moldy stench, there were staff rooms completely open, unlocked (I have a child so I found this very unsafe), some of the hallway lights weren't working properly so some areas were completely dark. We passed several ice machines and all of them were "out of service" which I found completely inconvenient. I can't make any complaints about the actual room, everything was clean and well equipped however the tv was completely outdated, this can be upgraded. That same night we checked in, I took my son to the kids room which in reality was just a couple of plastic toys and a tv. It was advertised outside the kids room that the kids could watch Disney movies. When my husband went to turn on the television, nothing seemed to be playing. He went to ask the lady at the front desk and she said that the television wasn't working. Again completely unacceptable. The following day, my family and I decided to check out the indoor HEATED pool. When we got there, I checked the temperature of the pool since I have a five year old son and don't want him in a freezing pool, and that is exactly how the pool was. COMPLETELY FREEZING. Obviously, I was completely frustrated since the primary reason I selected this hotel was because of the heated indoor people. When I asked the front desk lady about the pool, she said that they had heating problems with the pool. When I had called to make the reservation before purchasing the groupon, NO ONE told me about this problem beforehand. Someone easily could have told me that the pool wasn't heated since it was only 30 degrees outside. This was the last straw for me. End of story, I had to go through this whole headache of finding a new hotel last minute, moving my family out of that resort, calling groupon to get a refund (2 hour wait on the phone), speak the manager of the hotel, call groupon again. Only received a refund for the two nights I did not stay, was charged for the one night I stayed. I would never recommend this place to anyone, I don't expect a five star hotel but I expect to receive the services advertised. Completely unacceptable. There are motels better than this place. Invest your money somewhere else. read more

This place is a dump. It's like an abandon run down hotel, yet they sicker you in with false pictures for over 100 bucks a night. Don't do it, unless you have a great sense of humor and can joke about the place. That's what we did. They advertise a nice big pool with blue water. Nope, it's run down, faking apart with only some green water in the deep end. Pictures of a patio with tables . Ha, reality is empty patio with cracks and grass growing between them. Gym equipment broken. Everything is closed and run down. Except you can take a step back in time where the free breakfast is served. Walk into the dark, dingy 70s themed dining area. But wait, no staff, no fresh food. Just bins of 2 kind of cereal that looks like it still from the 70s. Oh, watch those balconies that are falling apart. A piece broke off and almost hit me in the head. No working elevators. But after seeing all the other shit wrong with this place, that's a minor thing. read more

My wife and I were yearly guests at Willow Valley Resort. Since Double Tree destroyed the ambiance of the property. We decided to give Wyndham a try. We were pleasantly surprised. The place is updated and very clean. The outdoor pool is huge and inviting. The staff is amiable and courteous. The property is close to everything and very convenient. The only downside was we were not thrilled with our room location, which was overlooking the stone chimney. $125 a night extra for poolside location seems excessive. read more

I tried this resort because of Groupon and I liked it. The resort is begin remodel so the entrance doesn't really give you a wow feeling but the lobby is pretty nice. This resort is kid friendly- pretty big pool no jacuzzi and a kid zone that the kids absolutely love. The kid zone and pool open in till 11pm which is nice. I saw security patrolling inside the resort. The staff was friendly and polite. The bathroom was remodel beautiful. But the room it's self looks like it's still begin remodel. Which didn't really bother me. I will recommend better WiFi. I didn't get signal at all while I stayed and the second day it said that my session expired but it never worked. Overall for the price I paid it had some good amenities and great staff! read more

Stay away! Feb stay..We booked this hotel last summer for our kids dance competition and what a surprise. Place happened to be under construction with no attempts to minimize the inconvenience, cleanliness or appearance of this old rundown resort probably bought pennies on the dollar. 2 odd( enibriated dudes roaming through the hotel, one with a radio playing, they new mgmt and even got yelled at by host to go back to his room- I believe they were handymen). One was clearly wasted and with all the kids packed in this hotel we didn't feel comfortable at all. So Debris all over the parking lot, nails in front of my car, busted open structural columns in the vestibule (which could have been asbestos, odds are it is..) Rooms were run down, bathrooms were modernized but no locks, holes in the room walls, blood on the carpet another parent told us about, I can keep going... heat wouldn't work so we piled on our clothes not even bothering to call the desk at this point..no lighting outside so when you pull in at night it looks like an abandoned property. Lobby was the only area tht looked decent. we called around for another hotel but everything was booked. Got lucky the 2nd night thankfully. Unfortunate experience I wouldn't want another family to endure. Will never be back here read more

I wish I would have never walking through the door or walked on the floors . The ceilings are caving in . They have dangerous equipment throughout the entire parking lot . I have honestly never stayed anywhere worse and false than this horrible disgusting disaster. Phone did not work , blow dryer was broken , they have no food or room service at all . Pools ??? This is one of the crappiest hotels I have ever stayed in. I wish I could give it the zero stars it deserves. The only thing keeping this place in business is the convention center. If you want my advice, if you're attending any event at the Host Convention Center, you'll stay somewhere else and drive or walk. There is an annual convention I attend here, and I haven't stayed at the Host in the last three years. Even though the convention is a week, it's still better to drive there every day than to stay at the Host. The convention I attend has food catered by the hotel. I distinctly remember getting what they called "Sweet and Sour Chicken". It came with rice. The rice was crunchy. I'm not sure how bad a catering service has to be to mess up rice, but that's pretty lousy. They also had a lunch station that served sandwiches, burgers and that sort of fair. The food was passable, but was terribly overpriced. I won't be eating there any more in the future. The rooms are dingy, and tend to have a foul smell. The hallways are dank, and the carpets seem to have been from decades ago, and are in desperate need of replacing. It's been some time since I stayed, but I remember them being sub-par rooms. I'm pretty sure that the hotel has attempted renovations in the rooms, but I have to say, I hadn't noticed any improvement. The convention rooms are fine, and they seem to spend a bit more time and energy on those, but some areas are still fairly dingy. With all that said, it's not bad enough to prevent me from attending my convention, but I certainly won't ever be staying there again. Edit / Update: 8/5/2012: I just returned from a week long convention at the Host. I wasn't staying in the hotel, but I went each day to the convention. I have to say, I didn't expect my assessment of the Host to fall any lower than it already is, but life can always surprise you. I'll set the scene. It's late July / Early August. It's 80-90 degrees out each day with 80%+ humidity. Needless to say, it's uncomfortable. This convention draws about 1000 attendees, that are packed into the approximately 14 different convention rooms. Of these 14 rooms, only three seemed to have any active air conditioning working. I know this, because I actually took the time one night to wander the site and check on it. The remaining rooms were not just uncomfortable, they were brutal. I was in one room for about five straight hours, and wound up with a splitting headache, probably from the intense heat, humidity, and possibly mold contamination. I had to leave, go back to my own hotel, pour cold water on my head and take some ibuprofen. I think I may have actually gotten mild heat exhaustion. I'm not joking here, I thought I was going to be sick. The other thing that happened was that there was a pretty heavy rainstorm. The Host is not water tight. I know this since there was rain leaking from the ceiling in the main convention hall and the hotel lobby. Also, while leaving the men's restroom, I told the attendant in the hall that there were no paper towels and one stall was out of toilet paper. The response was to hand me a pile of paper towels and a couple rolls of TP to put in the stall. Yes, they had me do their job for them. There was one positive. There was free wi-fi. I'm actually going to be writing to the committee in charge of the convention and voice my concerns and problems with the Host. Go to the Host at your own risk. read more

This place is a resort like Motel 8 is the Marriott. It's a run down motel that has checked all the amenities boxes to legally land in the "resort" category. Don't be fooled, lower your expectations. I bought the Groupon deal for two nights, two queen beds, kids eat free and breakfast buffet (and parking) included. It was the right price ($180 total) for all that given that the restaurant food is bad, the outdoor pool and recreation areas are decrepit, and the room is moist and stuffy. My three kids and I stayed here for two nights midweek (Wed - Friday) while we enjoyed Dutch Wonderland. The MOTEL worked for us because we were only in it to sleep. I won't stay here again. There are too many newer, chain hotels in better repair just down Lincoln Hwy East. Unless you get a good deal, and you intend only to crash at this place do not book it! read more

One of the worst hotel stays I have had. I am sure this hotel was amazing at its peak, but it is now deeply in its decline. Disgusting ceiling tiles in the hallways. Cracked sinks and rusty bath tubs. The phone in our room didn't work. And, we lost all water pressure (showers not possible), the air conditioner went down (mid July), stained carpets, elevators stopped working and access to the pool and fitness center were closed. Outside, they have massive tarps covering sections of the roof that must no longer stop the weather. The breakfast buffet had flies all over it! What a mess. They offered to comp me for one of my two nights, seriously? I will never stay there again. I would rather sleep in my car. Or under my car. read more

First, the positives.....the staff was pleasant and helpful. Now to the negatives: dirty, musty and ALL CARPETS need to be ripped up and replaced NOW! Carpet on the steps going into section G is ripped and a major hazard- one heel in a rip and you would sustain a major fall. Other steps have broken areas of concrete - also dangerous. Bedding was threadbare and pillows half the size of a normal pillow. Towels were scratchy and thin. My toilet flapper had to be adjusted after every flush in order for bowl to refill. 'Excuse the construction' signs don't cut it - close down the entire section and reopen when completed. Did I mention the dark hallways and gross carpet??? No microwaves or refrigerators. Cracks in sinks and tub. I could go on.... The Expo is also drafty, with ripped flooring and in general, not an appealing location for eating. The food was average (tons of carbs) and The no place to buy little snacks, coffee, water, toiletries, etc. How is that possible in a hotel these days?? I walked to Starbucks for a good cup of coffee! I would never stay there again unless major renovations were done. read more

This place is one step away from getting a visit from Gordon Ramsey. In fact, that could be the best thing to happen to this hotel! I have been coming to this hotel for over 12 years for a conference and it has not changed one bit. Not one. I love coming to lancaster in the fall time, but this hotel needs a lot of work in every place. Restaurant, rooms, conference center. It all needs a facelift. I hope that by giving it one star, it will motivate someone in corporate to actually care about their hotel, the appearance and make some upgrades. Worst Hotel experience of my life!!!! Let me begin with checking in. They tell us the room isn't ready at 3pm so we have to wait 30 minutes. We finally get to our room and I literally can't figure out why they made us wait. The room was dusty and bathroom toilet was disgusting. The cable in the room worked when it wanted too and the air/heating system didn't work so we had the hotel accommodate us with a fan. Later on we wanted to get a drink of course the bar tender made his/her own schedule because they we're never behind the bar. The ice machines on both floors we're out of order and the vending machines spit out hot drinks, so just imagine my frustration there. Food is awful and overpriced that is breakfast and lunch. Staff isn't that helpful on tourist information as well. Don't think I'll be heading there again. read more

Uh okay. This place is a complete and utter shithole. I stayed here not because it was a hotel I chose but because this is where the hotel guests of a wedding I had to go to were all staying. Im from out of town and sadly at the time this happened, I was not a Yelper and I didn't check reviews before hand. First, this place is old, moldy and just plain gross. It's your typical no-tell-motel. Yuck. After checking in, they had us drive around to the otherside to get to our room. After hauling a weeks worth of luggage out of the car, we walked in to find that the place didn't contain any elevators. I don't mind exercise but uh, well, when you have to go up a few flights of stairs with luggage, it isn't pleasant. At all. No one had offered to take the bags. Eventually got to the room praying it would be better than the hall... no such luck. We opened the door and the whole place smelled like mold and the floor felt slightly damp. Air conditioner didn't really work. There was a bunch of stuff growing in the bathroom. Went to the front desk to complain about the room and to be moved. Front desk people were totally unhelpful and rude about it. They also tried to insist that it was one of their "renovated rooms." If that's true, I'd hate to see the rooms that haven't been renovated. When I asked about elevators I was informed that their hotel was over 30 years old and thus, didn't now have elevators. Right. I've stayed at plenty of historic hotels much older than this one that have elevators and did have them years ago. An elevator isn't exactly a new concept. We didn't even stay one night. We took off to a better hotel after fighting with the front desk. The only good thing I can say is that they did eventually agree to wave all fees, however this was only after a family member (who is well known in Lancaster) talked to them. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place. Yeah, I am a bit of a hotel snob, but I understand that Lancaster is a small town and I wasn't getting the Ritz. However, this wasn't even a clean room. This place is an overpriced shithole plain and simple. An Amish barn is probably cleaner. read more

One star is being generous- it is a crap-tastic hotel. I stayed here because a work related meeting/training was held here, and YUK. The common areas appear to be somewhat recent but those renovations have not been extended to the hotel, which is this weird octagon-ish shape and there are no elevators for those who require ADA accommodations. I did not mind schlepping my one bag up the stairs, but I was informed by the person at the front desk it would be better to park out front and go through the front. I was in room 478, which is nearly at the end, and the floor starts at 400. There was an entrance right outside my door to the outside, that frankly was less steps and was not the death march through the hotel. The carpet is squishy and old, the bedspread is one of the polyester fabric ones circa 1985. There is a dank smell. The desk chair has a stain that looks like someone may have gotten their monthly visitor early, and the tub is peeling in places bigger than my hand. The bathroom is not clean, and the hvac is suboptimal at best. It is in the 40's outside as I write this, and my teeth are chattering- no exaggeration. The closet doors are missing and there is a cruddy shared balcony that looks like something you would find in Florida in 1975 in a no-tell motel. The towels are not fantastic either. I had read reviews, and had pretty low expectations coming in, but this is below those. The food at the conference center is very low-rent. For the money, there are many, many better hotels in Lancaster. The bathroom at Walmart would be one. So far the staff I have encountered have been the bare minimum of friendly and not the most helpful. I am counting down the minutes until I escape from here. Oh- and there is a HUGE creepy buzzing bug flipping out in my room. NICE. read more

The beauty products in the bathroom are from 1970 [when was the last time you saw Breck shampoo??] There is a clear detectable musty smell when entering the guest room. Don't bother making a specific reservation in advance like I did for a king bed as it will be completely ignored. There was one kid [not young man] with a distinct attitude problem that made my business trip less than comfortable. Do NOT recommend. read more

Awful hotel, the lock in the first room they gave us didn't work so we had to trudge back to the front desk twice before the rude, either untrained or just uninterested girl, had an engineer tell her the room was off-line -- meaning it had too many problems to use. The TV didn't work, no light bulbs, phone didn't work. What we realized was that is wasn't much better than than the rooms they do rent! There is no working thermostats is any of the rooms. It's either heat or AC depending on the time of year and you have to physically get up and throw a switch to turn it on or off. Our room was overly hot which made sleeping unbearable. None of the ice machines worked..no surprise there. On a good note, we didn't find any bed bugs.......yet. read more

Food here is TERRIBLE. I wouldn't even call it food. They serve the same thing everyday and it never gets better. I've literally gone to a local supermarket to buy something edible. The building is dank and stinky. The carpet looks old. WiFi is very sketchy and works only in certain spots. Please do yourselves a favor and NEVER come here. read more

The most disgusting hotel. Dead bugs in the rooms, dirty bathrooms in the guest rooms and lobby. The shower walls and bathtub in my first room were peeling and the toilet was covered in grime. The front desk offered another room but that had hair and a dead bug on the bathroom sink- which wasn't cleaned up 3 hours after I reported it. The front desk staff seemed annoyed that I brought this to their attention, possibly because there were so many other people reporting problems. This place may have been nice a decade ago but for now the only people who might want to visit are folks from the health department. read more

We've stayed here a few times in the past, and this most recent stay secured the 2-star rating. First, I'd never stay here unless there was a deal available on Groupon (usually $90/night, including free breakfast). That's not bad to get out of the city for the weekend, but I would never pay full price which can range upwards of $175/night - that just isn't happening for a place like this. This visit, we stayed in one of the older (it seemed that way) rooms which had a very worn restroom - similar to the pictures posted above. Also, the bed had no fitted sheet, which I wasn't too fond of. One false move and you're making contact with the mattress. And, if you want ice, you'd better bring some with you - none of the machines we tried were working. The included breakfast buffet ($12 value) was very lackluster this time. It's good if all you're interested in are eggs; everything else is a crapshoot. The waffles and pancakes are like a piece of cardboard. No bagels available this time. No sausage links. Bacon drowning in grease. No yogurt. Dry muffins. Water-downed juices. That's about as kind as I can be with rating the breakfast. The location is good - plenty to do and right near the outlets as well as some nice little Amish shops. Also, the staff is accommodating and mostly everyone is pleasant. It's worth a shot only if you can find a deal on Groupon, in my opinion. I would not pay full price to stay here - it just isn't worth it. I also think there is a section that has newer rooms (100 level?) which we've stayed in before and they were much cleaner. I really wanted to give Lancaster Host a 3-star rating, but this last stay just didn't make that possible. read more

I do NOT recommend this hotel to any. The water pressure is really bad, room smelly, no hot water. Find a motel close by way much better experience and cheaper. Not sure why would I pay for a hotel while the room sheets smell bad and the shower is bad? read more

Worst place we have stayed in a long time! Hotel is VERY outdated and the rooms are mostly broken and in dire need of repairs and updating. Our shower was also broken, and all the ice machines in the entire wing were broken! The hallway even had broken picture frames just laying on the floor. The only reason we stayed there is because of a dance recital my daughter had, but next time I think I would drive from another hotel and forgo the convenience of staying in the hotel. My parents stayed in the classic inn, right next door for half the cost, it wasn't a whole lot better but at least it was 1/2 the cost :) The only positive thing I can say about this hotel is that the kids area was large and pretty clean, but it closed way too early on a Sat night. read more

Don't be fooled by there recent remodel of the lobby or the use of the word "Resort". The rooms are dirty, stained carpeting, cracked toilet seat, bugs and caulk everywhere to hold everything together. $129.99 before taxes for this place, crazy! Had to buy some Lysol and new pillows in fear of catching something. This is the type of hotel you would pay by the hour (no offense to those establishments). The hotel bar (a nice area) but they run out of everything by 7PM on a Saturday night. Did I mention the newly remodeled lobby has multiple leaks in the ceiling. This is a hotel which wants to try and compete with others in the area but I doubt they have the management skills even if they have the funding to remodel the rooms (who knows when that will happen). Recommendation find another place within a mile otherwise you will regret it. read more

I am not a guest here for the weekend. I am hear for a trade show in their expo center. However, I have heard complaints all weekend from the attendees who are staying here and there's no way I would stay here. The room that the ATA is paying for this weekend is damp, musty, moldy and the air conditioner hasn't been working properly all weekend. It's miserable and impossible to get them to really attend to it. The food service there is unimaginative, boring and quite drab. I have no idea but I think the place just needs a serious upgrade. I am not sure the staff can really do much. Although, one of my friends told me that the phone in their room was devoid of it's guts. It was just an empty shell. Crazy. I doubt the ATA will rent this place again. It's mostly not accessible to older people. Lots of stairs and not many rooms available that you can get to via elevator. This is not a good thing for this convention attended by mainly AARP members. Best of luck if this is the only place you can get. read more

Stayed there for one night was taken back by not having an elevator to go to your to the different floors it's not ADA compliant got to the room there's food under the bed dirty rag on the desk wallpaper is peeling on the one wall for what we pay for the night and I don't think it's worth it. read more

If you are on personal travel, stay way from this outdated albatross. There are plenty of brand new hotels along Route 30 that are way better then this dump. The only reason this place stays in business is because of the conference facilities. Without that, I am sure this blast from the past would have been torn down long ago and in it's place would either be outlet stores or a modern hotel. If you get a room in the back be prepared for a long hike! You may want to drop bread crumbs as you journey to the back of the octagon shaped hotel. The hallways are long, dimly lit and narrow. Watch your head when walking...you may get wet from the various leaks dripping from the removed ceiling tiles. While you're walking you may notice the carpets feel squishy and sticky-like a million beers have been spilled on them followed by an occasional carpet cleaning. Inside my room was no treat either. The water pressure in my shower seemed to be gravity fed by one of those Amish windmills. On my first night the TV picture was fuzzy. Do you think all hotels have converted to flat screens? Not at Lancaster Host- they still got your Mom's big old picture tube set in the room! And while you're watching the fuzzy picture on the old TV don't drink the bottled water left on the dresser. It's not left as a courtesy for guests. Heck no....they bill you two bucks per bottle if you crack them open. Nice accommodations, right? This place is in serious need of a bulldozer or an owner willing to pay for a major facelift for the place. But that doesn't seem to be in the works. As long as companies continue to book conferences there, the owners will keep nursing the facility along with band-aids and another coat of paint. read more

Husband and I came in late (3 AM) and was told we didn't have a reservation (booked online for a free night through hotels.com). Danielle at the front desk was the rudest employee ever. Acted like we were wasting her time and that she was totally annoyed that we woke her up or something. She puts us in this room and the temperature was 85 degrees (no joke) and no way to regulate. I call down to the front desk and she informs us that all the rooms are like that because the air conditioning hasn't been turned on yet. I asked her if there was at least a room that we could open the windows and she said no. So my husband and I had to try to sleep in this hell inferno without any help from Danielle what so ever. In the morning my husband went to the morning staff Ivette (who was very courteous) and explained the situation. Ivette put us in a different room which was a normal temperature and had balcony doors that could be open. Danielle just chose to be rude and annoyed when it was clear she could have simply helped my husband and I out by sending us to a different room the night before. She misinformed us and was too lazy to do her job and too lazy to be courteous. My husband was then charged for the room when he was told by Danielle that he wasn't. This place is a hell hole. Don't stay here. Read the reviews because they are totally accurate. Moldy and stained carpets, cracked and outdated bathrooms, tubs that leak, rude and lazy staff, 85 degree temp nonregulated rooms, outdated tvs....Use the manager's contact information above. Find another place to stay until renovations are done. Then maybe it might be worth staying at. Room was clean and well kept. Tv was new. Shower on the other hand did not work to well. Head full of build up. If you stay here bring a wrench and your own shower head. They could have replaced the shower heads when they did other things to the rooms. The shower head looked like I had been there since the place opened. If you want to have a few beers in your room go down the street and buy a 6 pack. Room service 6 pack is $20. Sign on door F says use key to get in between 11pm and 7am. But the door does not lock. Mag lock is missing the piece of steel that is attached to the door so the mag lock is ineffective. read more

The common areas of the Host seem to be cared for OK. Fairly attractive bar, ok lobby etc. But when you get back into the areas where the rooms are, the hallways, carpeting lighting and soforth haven't been tended to in many years. It's beenn a long time since I stayed in a place that had a 19" tube type TV. The rooms have a musty smell with the air so dry that both my wife & I had bloody noses when we woke up & used kleenexes. They need to start closing sections & spend a few bucks remodeling & brightning up the place. read more

Terrible! Stay away! I went to my room and after 3 hours on the bed, I saw a small spider on the pillow! I got up and uncovered the covers! The sheet was covered with dead bugs all over! I called the manager who came up and was very unprofessional in the way he talked with me! His name is Adele Hassan! He looked at the sheet and said I will change the sheet! I asked when was this room cleaned he said a week ago and that he was sure there aren't any bed bugs! I told him how could you be sure that there aren't unseen bugs when the seen bugs are all over the place! He then said what is the solution that you want! I said you give me a solution! He said I can't move you to a better room because they are all booked but I'll move you to a standard room ( which is a downgrade )! Completely unprofessional and unacceptable! OMG when you walk in the first thing was the smell it smells old and stinky. They tried to dress up the hotel with chandeliers but the smell and the look still says old. Walked into the room the bathroom tube looks old and dirty and they have shower liners for window curtains. Don't stay here if you have a choice. read more
