Hometown Flooring Designs was one of three businesses that I decided to get quotes. Gary came out to give me the estimate and measured everything with an actual measuring tape. I originally spoke to his wife, Jennifer, who was so personable and friendly. She usually is at the store and I have to say the store is clean, organized, and was decorated for the holidays and it always smells amazing! Jennifer has quite the bubbly personality and is extremely helpful. In the afternoon I chose Hometown Flooring for several reasons one because Jennifer was patient and asked me so many questions and also let me take samples home to get a good idea of what I needed to have done. Especially after I had painting done. I believe in supporting small business, and I really liked the personalized attention that I received from both Jennifer and Gary. After receiving other estimates, I truly believe that I was getting a better value and a better quality of carpet than the other carpet companies that provided estimates. When I decided to move forward with Hometown Flooring, Jennifer was great and keeping me in the loop on when the carpeting would be delivered and when delivery dates would be of a call. Also, Gary called me before my installation just to answer any questions. Gary arrived promptly at 7 am the day of the carpet installation. He had two other men with him that were helping with the install. First of all, I like the carpet and the design of the carpet. I felt that I was making great decisions with the personal attention and patience with my many questions! On top of that the installation was unbelievable! I work from home, and I never heard anything from them while they were doing the job. They were so quiet, professional and respectful of my home. They were extremely clean when they took out the old carpeting and when they installed the new carpet. They did an amazing job and I couldn't be happier with my carpet and with Hometown Flooring! He was very helpful in making suggestions and he brought more samples when he came to measure. We went with one of his color recommendations and helped us pick the right wood/carpet setup for the stairs. Quite the fastidious person - he explained to us the difference in the direction of the carpet grain and the potential that 12' and 15' rolls of the same carpet might have very slight variances. And I enjoyed watching his method for moving furniture - he's got to be pretty good at Tetris (although he said Dr. Mario was his specialty on NES) Paul's quote was less than other local sources with the same carpet and upgraded padding. Installation was on-time, clean, and looks perfect. No damage to furniture or walls. He's really a hard-working guy and we'll be back when it's time to do the second floor. I had to consign on a loan and help him make payments. He's on a fixed income. Floors started erupting shortly after. Then my mother came home weeks after because she broke her foot in the winter and needed a wheelchair for some weeks. They blamed it on the wheelchair. We said no this was happening before that. Blamed it on the subfloor. Well the subfloor was fine with the previous floor and completely flat. Took the money from the loan and did the work. After flaws started to happen they blamed it on everything else. Completely unprofessional company and lied to my elderly father multiple times of what they would cover after the fact and were very disrespectful. Only sincere person was Adrian who was part of the crew who worked at the house and seemed to want to try and make things right. We sit here with a loan and completely unfinished/faulty floors and then refusing to work anything out. Very disheartening and still exploring different options. Unreal how they think treating customers this way is ok while paying them loads of money. Your best friend at first then when you speak up on what is right they completely turn on you and become disrespectful. Thats putting it nicely. Think twice before giving this place your business. You never think this would happen to you until it does. What could improve is actually fixing work that was done which customers pay for.
