Our building is difficult to work in because the Management Office requires lots of insurance documentation which Rob was able to deliver immediately. We'd sanitized a small carpet area where a rodding issue led to backup, but wanted the pad replaced after just to safe. Tricky area to access, but Rob did that, replaced the padding, and stretched the carpet so it looked better than to start. Wish I'd called him for the initial cleaning as well. Wanted a quote for a small job including a smallish carpet repair and 1 room wall to wall new installation. We had an appointment set and something last minute came up and I couldn't make it, but my wife would be there and since she's the boss anyways I left her to handle picking the carpet and getting the quote. Rob came in and became irate after finding out I wasn't there. He repeatedly called it a "wasted trip" while continuing to be rude. He showed my wife some carpet samples and my wife picked out 2 she liked and called me for a quick discussion. He was rude on the phone and then had a tantrum like a toddler because he wanted the contract today. Ummm...sorry pal. How do you make a sale acting like an ass? Sales in anything is more about selling yourself than the product. Well, we certainly won't be buying any Rob. But I'll attribute 1 star (nevermind that I can't do less) to the possibility that maybe he was just having a bad day. However, the bottom line is he disrespected my wife in my home. Comfort Carpets came today to fix a ripple in my Moms bedroom carpet. While here they identified another less obvious ripple and stretched the fabric and smoothed the ripples out in both areas. In one hour he was done! $289- that's it. Thank you for coming to do a small job but one that was very helpful to my Mother. Booked a appointment and asked if they were following covid guidelines. They said yes! The contractor showed up without oa mask. When I asked him to put one in he argued with me about sinus issues and I don't know what it's like to wear a mask all day. Called office at 9 when he showed to ask them to talk to him. No call. 9 30 no call. 12 30 no call. I called back at 3 30 and the managers answers to his employee putting me in danger was I should of not called during covid. And they have the option to not wear a mask. Less than average work. Would never recommend!!!! read more

After we had tenants move out of our home, we needed to replace all of the carpeting, and decided to refinish some of our hardwood floors. A pump failed in our basement creating water flowing into the basement carpet and pad. We had a mitigation specialist come in and save the carpet and pad but they didn't do carpet re-laying. I called so many carpet people and what seemed to be 50 at the time that I had contacted as I was so upset and distraught from the whole situation. You cannot believe how many carpet people don't do this kind of work including generic stores like Home Depot as an example. What seemed to be forever, I found Rob. He said he went all over Chicagoland doing this and other services . I was a little concerned as he was based out of libertyville and I was in Huntley. But I called, he answered and said let's book a time for me to come out and give you an estimate and if you agree I will do the job there and then. So we booked-- his estimate was fair-the work high quality and a job well done. Mark down in your books that this is an essential service if your carpet can be saved but so few of the hundreds that clean and put down carpet do not do this kind of re-laying of carpet. I highly recommend Comfort Carpets. Rob promptly provided a fair, accurate estimate and was always available by phone or text for any question's. I had old carpet and padding removed  that was covering hardwood floor's. Rob's crew arrived on time and expertly removed and hauled away the carpet and padding. All the (heavy) furniture was moved and replaced exactly where it was. They also removed all the staple's and swept up the carpet dust. This was all done quickly and professionally. Comfort carpets is able to do much more than just lay carpet! I had a sump pump backup in my basement, and after a mitigation company came in to remove all the damaged items and dry everything out, I needed to find someone to make the place look good. Comfort carpets was a 1 stop shop. We used the opportunity to upgrade from a cheap, dated burber carpet throughout the basement to tile in the common areas and a nice, high quality carpet in the bedrooms. Comfort Carpets was able to provide ALL of the following services: - Move all furniture to garage during work period - Removal of old carpet, pad and tack strips - Removal of old tiles that had previously been carpeted over to get down to the concrete slab. - Removal of old damaged wood paneling - Removal of old laminate wood - Repair drywall throughout the basement - Skim slab, lay tile & grout (~400 square feet) - Install new tack strips, pad and carpet - Install new wood paneling - Install new trim and casing - Paint walls, trim, paneling - Move all furniture back in to place All of this work was done a week after I gave them the go ahead to start work. Comfort carpets was competitively priced (2nd most affordable option out of 4 companies that bid on the job and the cheapest of the 'one stop shop' options). Rob, who bid on the job and was my main point of contact was straightforward with me and willing to come by the house several times while my wife and I picked out exactly what we wanted. I was very pleased with the workmanship when Nathan refinished my kitchen floor. It was a little difficult because the kitchen floor and the foyer and the family room are all wood and I was afraid just refinishing the kitchen floor would be very apparent. But Nathan was able to feather the refinishing in to the other floors.
