Buyer beware: Land Rover Darien sold me a vehicle they seemingly did not have a marketable title for. Deal #30896 has been a nightmare. Five months post-purchase, I have no NY plates and no clear answer on when the 'clerical mileage error' they admitted to will be fixed. They have repeatedly blamed the DMV, but it is clear the issue is with the vehicle's history. Driving a $50k car on dealer plates for half a year is not what I paid for. I am now seeking legal counsel to sue for a full refund and damages related to the diminished value caused by their failure to disclose these title issues at the time of sale. If you value your money and your peace of mind, stay away from this dealership. I have already filed a complaint with the Connecticut DMV (Form K-35) and am moving forward with legal action. read more

I get what I expect from Land Rover. Exceptional service and atmosphere. There for a battery replacement, not a long service window. I did not get my GPS updated like I hoped I would. It was cleaned inside and out when it was returned to me. When I return for my fifty thousand miles service shortly, I will have my GPS updated then. read more

We had the pleasure of dealing with Lee who is an absolutely awesome asset to Land Rover of Darien! Lee was so kind, courteous and patient through every question we had and made the entire process a delight. Never once did we feel pressured or as if we were on a time crunch. Will never be returning. I will drive the extra miles and out of the way to service my vehicle elsewhere with other professional Penske dealership. The service manager, Joe or Joey (he refers to himself both ways) is beyond unprofessional and trash. He has been there for years. I cannot believe Landrover and Penske would hire someone like this to represent them or tolerate one who conducts themself as Joe. At first I thought "the manager" was a customer based on the conversation overheard with one of the advisors in the middle which was completely inappropriate and disgusting! Very much gentlemen's locker room talk .He clearly didn't realize I was behind him. It was early and right as they opened. Both employees had coffee in hand having a great laugh before realizing I was there. I had entered through the sales department, as I had to use the restroom first. I was shocked to see him walk into the mangers office, as I wasn't 100% sure from behind he was the manger, but then I asked the rental guy. We were very pleased with our experience buying a car here. Service is another story. The technicians we've worked with have been fine, but it is harder and harder to reach a human being. If you want to make an appointment, you work with Brooke, "a virtual assistant who can understand complete sentences". No thank you -- I want to speak to a person who can understand complete sentences. If you "need immediate assistance", you will get a recording that asks you to leave a message. No one will ever call you back. We used to reach a receptionist who transferred us to service, but even in that case, we could only leave voice mails that no one responded to. The team works hard, but it seems as if they are always working harder then needed. And do not seem as happy. I was always friendly with the team, and never had an issue before. I drove over to ask some questions about the new Velar. There were no customers in the showroom when I arrived. The greeter at the desk had me fill out a form with personal information, then called to ask a sales associate to come out and speak with me. I waited about five minutes, again, completely alone in the showroom. No one ever came out so I left. If you are going to sell a luxury vehicle that has an undisputed reputation for being last in class for reliability, and someone goes to the trouble of expressing interest in buying that, the least you should do is try to make the purchase simple. We were interested in Range Rover and did not want to be steered toward their Jaguar line. We asked to test drive an Evoque. We wanted the SE Premium package. Mostly good, but if you need parts, I needed a replacement wing mirror, you'll need to know what parts you need before you call. Oh, and a replacement wing mirror will not be enough information. You'll need a grainier level of detail. And if you need to contact them by phone, good luck! Nobody picks up, ever. You'd think a dealership of this size would have someone handling calls. Took the time to take my call twice from Auto Zone as the morons there had no idea how to change my battery. The guy knew I was somewhere else getting my car serviced yet could have cared less, all he wanted to do was help me out. When I finally realized the Auto Zone idiots were not going to fix my problem I headed to the Range Rover Dealership in Darien and enjoyed a cappuccino while the courteous staff installed my battery and detailed my car for free. I always have a good experience here when I bring my car for service. Just yesterday, I had to stop by and pick up a part for my car that I had called about the day prior. Ironically enough, as I was driving to the dealership my tire light started flashing indicating I needed air in it. As soon as I arrived, paul in the service department was there to help me out and filled my tires while i took care of what I needed at parts. I wasn't exactly able to explain to the guy what I needed in parts and he was nice enough to take a walk down and not only check it out for me but take care of the tiny little clip I needed right there on the spot. My decision to write this review isn't based off of one good experience. I have brought my car 4-5 times here for service for an oil change over the course of the last 3 years and they have been exceptional with a loaner waiting for me each time. They lost their Jaguar dealership and are closing July 16, 2010. The facility will continue as a Nissan dealership, I think. I went there twice for service and was disappointed. I don't think their heart is in it. Once I showed up at 3:45 and was told they were closed for the day! 4pm closing time? If that wasn't bad enough, I checked the website and it says 7pm. The closest dealers to Fairfield County are now in Woodbridge, CT or White Plains, NY. Hard to believe there's no Jag dealer anywhere in the wealthiest county in CT. I had a good service experience at Crest Jaguar in Woodbridge when I broke down on the road a few months ago. I won't miss Jaguar Darien.
