On Oct 31, BMW Darien picked up my vehicle for an oil change, but afterward my car became undrivable. Do NOT take your vehicle to BMW of Darien for service!!! This dealership is independently owned and not truly part of BMW NA. If something goes wrong, BMW NA will tell you they cannot intervene because the dealer operates on its own. That is exactly what happened to me, and I want to warn other customers before they experience the same nightmare. I brought my X5 in for routine service and a windshield replacement. When I picked it up, my vehicle had chemical damage to the exterior paint and a malfunction with the windshield camera system. I documented the issues with timestamped photos taken 30 minutes after leaving. Their own check-in photos show the car without damage at drop-off, and I had their check-in video professionally enhanced to confirm the vehicle was undamaged on arrival. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I returned the car the next day expecting accountability and a repair. Instead, they kept it for days, gave no meaningful updates, and returned it in the same condition -- damaged and unacknowledged.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] BMW North America reviewed both drop-off and post-service video evidence and confirmed the damage appeared after service. Yet because BMW of Darien is independently owned, BMW NA could not compel them to fix it. In other words, when you take your car here, you are on your own if they damage it. Despite clear evidence, BMW of Darien denied responsibility, misrepresented the timeline, and refused to make the situation right. My wife needed a new car. After calling around, she found a great deal here. Our sales rep was Jason. Top notch from the moment we met him. He showed us a few different cars than the one we initially came to look at. He was very helpful with many things including pulling up the Carfax for multiple vehicles, asking his sales manager about a discount for minor damage on a car, and giving monthly payment breakdowns for two different vehicles. When we told him we would have a problem getting a ride from New Milford, he offered to pick us up at the train station if need be. Thankfully we ended up getting a ride there. He called after the sale and said he could get us a $500 Loyalty customer credit. He went the extra mile from the beginning. From all of our conversations, I can tell he definitely cares about his customers. The show room is very clean and inviting. Great coffee machine upstairs with multiple options. There is a massage chair upstairs for while you wait. Sadly, I found this out when it was too late. The car was detailed as promised. It also had a full tank of gas. Jason went over all the features of the car with us before we left. I was originally going to give this rating a four or possibly five. However, two things made it a three. Our first BMW purchase was at another dealer. When we picked up the car, they had a red bow tied to the hood. They also had many different snacks and different drink options for the customers. I know it's not a huge deal, but to me they did not make the extra effort for the customers. The second and biggest problem I had was the financing part. We got there 15 minutes late because of the heavy rains. We let Jason know we will be a few minutes late and didn't seem to be a problem. We ended up waiting two hours to speak to the financial manager. We were told a few times it would be a few minutes. No reason to keep us that long. When he finally did meet with us, he never apologized for keeping us waiting that long. Very disappointing. Sales five stars, finance manager zero stars. read more

Why not have a zero star here? I received a flyer of an offer of $119 for oil changes. When I got to the shop, I was told additional $89 is needed for reset of the service reminder. This is my first time to see the reset is not part of an oil change. I walked away. What a shame on these guys! I would rather pay other shops for $200 and will never let this shop take my business. I have been to countless BMW dealers in Connecticut and Darien BMW has exceptional service. Last week I made an appointment for routine service on my BMW 540XI. I called made an apt and scheduled a loaner. They have the process so down that you email them your insurance, DL and credit card. Once you arrive you sign one form and you're outta there. I've had work done here 2-3 times now. It's been the same smooth service process. What is super cool is the video you get from the tech, once they review and inspect your car. It was a simple oil change but the video showed the rake wear and a ton of other stuff. Excellent for detailed executives with no time to actually hang around while the work gets done. Absolutely horrible service. 1) The service rep offered a shuttle car to take me just a few blocks up the street and bring back. When my car was ready, the service rep said the shuttle will be there in 5 min. 1 hr of waiting and there was still no shuttle and no response to my texts to the service rep on when the shuttle (while he was texting me if I had any questions). 2) It took one week for the service manager Trevor Martin and fixed operations manager Bill Skorvanek to respond to my questions about the estimate and that's about brakes that the service rep had to be replaced immediately. 3) It took another week for the service manager to reply to my question on when I can bring the car in to get the brakes done. While having no response from BMW of Darien, I inquired with another dealership about the repairs and actually got a better price. 4) When Martin finally responded and offered the repair date, I asked if they would match the price for the repairs - price matching is an offer BMW Darien is actively posting and advertising on their website. 5) No response from Martin. 3 Days later I receive an automated confirmation of the appointment Martin suggested - with no explanation and no response to my question about price. 6) Next day I receive an automated email - cancellation of the appointment. With no response and no explanation of Martin. And that's more than two weeks since the rep said the brakes have to be replaced. 7) Mr. Martin - do you know what it's like to drive a car that you needs brakes replaced. Or did your rep just exaggerated the issue and misled me about state of brakes. 8) Mr. Martin - how quickly would you take care of the brakes on your wife's car who also drives your children? Also beware that when this dealership gives an estimate they don't mention that there are additional fees like shop fees. I initially had an outstanding experiencing when purchasing my car from this location. I continued to have my car serviced here because I purchased my car from this dealership. I have since had several poor service experiences. The staff isn't overly friendly or eager to help. I have had my car damaged with chips and scratches on more then one occasion. Some years ago, I gave BMW Darien a five-star review for exceptional service provided by Neil Donovan, the Foreman. It was absolutely warranted. However, my recent experience was abysmal! Evidenced by the many recent one-star reviews, I'm not alone. My car needed bodywork after a minor accident. BMW Darien, like many dealerships, has local body shops to do the work. My Service Advisor was not on top of things, and I ended up talking directly to the Body Shop Manager and Geico to move the process along. I only heard from him after leaving messages. It took over ten days for the car to be repaired. But it gets worse. A few days later, the check engine light went on, and I had to return the car to BMW Darien. They examined the car and claimed that new damage emerged but said it was unrelated to the original accident. Even though the damage was in the same area that the Bodyshop repaired. I suggested we get Geico involved but, they insisted that it appeared to be new damage because of some yellow paint on the car. Also, it would open up a new case with Geico (a new deductible for me). Thank goodness, I had the presence of mind to take pictures when I first had the accident and then call Geico. The Geico Claims Adjuster (love Jim Miller) immediately jumped on it and told the BMW Service Advisor that the damage was 100% related to the accident. My favorite part of this mini-saga was when the other Service Advisor (equally as poor) told me that this was not their fault and blamed the Body shop. Remember when BMW Corporate would conduct surveys following any visit (or the periodic service only)? The Service Team would say, "if you cannot provide a 5-Star rating, please call the Service Manager to let us know what we can do better". Interestingly enough, no one said this to me and I haven't heard from BMW Corporate. I would have loved to complete a survey. Sad that the only motivation to provide exceptional customer service is survey results because I'm sure it provided financial gain. Let me end by sharing the text message I received earlier today from the Service Advisor at BMW Darien (the one that blamed the Bodyshop): "I am reaching out to ensure that your recent service visit was truly exceptional! If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to text or call us back. We appreciate your business and thank you for trusting us." Another text message asked for me to provide a Google Review. I will. Look it isn't all bad. The gentleman that greets you at the door is as kind as can be. But that's not enough for me. Bought a 2019 X5 and all is going well. Service department seems to accommodate just fine on the first visit. Hopefully it keeps rolling that way. Salesperson was zero pressure and seemed fine to us. The location is tight ... theres just not all that much space but it works. The lot gets a bit dodgy the further you go back into the inventory lot. You will be surprised how much variance is there between Fairfield, Greenwich and Danbury for the same part. They are also pretty good at ordering parts for you, which typically takes 2-3 days to arrive. A word on their Servicing and the branch as a whole, they have even helped me install small things right there for you. I haven't bought a car from there so can't comment on sales. Can't confirm if it's someone in the service department or who washes or parks the cars, but our expensive ear buds were missing from the console upon pick-up. It never occurred to us that someone would take used, dirty earbuds. Spoke with the service manager as a courtesy to make him aware so he could take action and clean house. Two times now you have damaged my sisters car and refused to take ownership for it. She is a meticulous person who takes great care of her belongings, especially her vehicle. She purposely brought her car to your establishment early in the day so she could examine her car prior to dropping it off. Your people claim it was dark, it was not. This is 2 times, in the exact same area. Please try to tell me that's coincidence. The guy who checked her out didn't have the courtesy to get off his cell phone while he spoke to her. The manager above him didn't seem to care either and brushed her off completely. The blatant disregard for your customers once the car as been sold is appalling. You could have had an entire family of BMW drivers come to you, but instead we will deter as many people as we can from experiencing the same disappointment we have. Posibly the worst place to send your car for service. I sent my car for a diagnostics test and I was charged $600. They found a fault with the oil compartment and suggested that it has to be fixed asap, and I was charged $800 for that. A week later there was oil busting all over my garage. They had fixed nothing. They kept my car for for 4 days which was ridiculous and a waste of my time. I called to let them know that they didn't fix anything and the person that answered the phone was very rude and did not seem to care about my concern. This place could be possibly one of the worst car service centers in CT. Even if their service was free I wouldn't go back there. You will get your car back in a worst condition than you sent it there. If you value your money and vehicle don't go there. read more

Lousy over-priced service and unethical service staff -- will never go back!

We had an appointment scheduled for over a week and received a text the night before that due to scheduling conflicts the appointment has been moved to 8:45 AM from 7:15 AM. We told them we can only do the 7:15 AM appointment and received a text to come with patience. Then they wait until the morning of, when we arrive, to tell us that they have to wait for the insurance to open for the tire warranty. We ended up waiting there for almost three hours to get a new tire on our vehicle. When I received the car back, there was wax left all of the rim/wheel. There is clearly miscommunication within that dealership and they are very unprofessional. The sales team is horrendous here. You can feel the sleaziness coming off them - well at least from their Sales Manager Albert Ewert. I was having issues with my lease - the power steering kept going off. They claimed to fix the issue, and everything seemed fine; but the next day the power steering shut back off and almost sent me flying into a dump truck at 7am in the morning. When I expressed this issue when returning my lease Albert showed zero accountability nor concern. He simply said his dealership is completely separate from the service center which is inside the actual dealership. He was very condescending and just came off as a complete scumbag, trying to deflect any responsibility. You would think these guys would provide better service to their clients but apparently not. I bought my car in for 2 service recalls. The car was otherwise in perfect mechanical condition. When I picked the car up, the headlight system was not functional. The service manager took no responsibility but offered a 15% discount on repairs after paying a large diagnostic fee I am working 24 hour hospital shifts during this crisis, BMW Darien was a severe disappointment. I bought a car from them in June, 2022 from Patrick for $30,000 cash and during the sale it was agreed that I would receive 2 more keys/fobs and I also paid for extra protection but I don't know what for and they won't tell me. I moved to Florida and he knew I was moving but neither he nor Anthony will return my phone calls now that I'm here. I had a bad experience with BMW Darien. I took my BMW 5 series for a maintenance repair issue, and I left a large amount of cash in my glove compartment. I come back at the end of the day to pick up my vehicle and the inside of my vehicle was nicely vacuumed and I'm going to assume it was complimentary cleaning. The money was missing and I reported to the manager and police department. I wouldn't trust them to do any repairs or even trust them In the vehicle. read more

I don,t usually take time to write reviews, my experience at BMW of Darien was so bad I felt the need to! This is the worst car dealership I have ever attempted to deal with. I dropped my X3 off for service on 07/25 at 8am and asked my "Service Adviser" what a joke of a title to have my X3 appraised for trade in. I was interested in a new X3. My X3 was in the service department until 4pm on 7/26. During that duration I was told by Frank my Service Adviser again what a joke of a title that Yusof in Sales had left me a voice mail regarding my X3. That never happened! I reached out to Yusof to discuss my car. I even left a voice mail for Yusof and my call was never returned. I guess BMW of Darien does not want new customers. I was ready to drop close to 5k turning in my car and getting a new X3. In 32 hours that my X3 sat in this dealership it was never even appraised. Where is the management in this dealership? If I was the owner I would hold an immediate training session with all your employees on customer service standards and satisfaction which does not exist at this dealership!
