The worst company I have ever dealt with. Five year old children could run this company better. I received a delivery of a CPAP last week. I would love to tell you how it works but... I am still waiting for the mask!!!!!!!!!!! When I called to try to find out where my mask was they were sending me a mask that I know does NOT FIT properly and that leaks like a faucet. They seemed to get very upset when I requested a mask fitting. Better off buying a mask on Amazon. Actually better off not using this company. Representative came to my house today to teach me how to use a CPAP machine. She was there for a total of 15 minutes (after waiting 4 hours for her to arrive). Her instructions were extremely fast, hard to follow since I was given a chance to attach any of the pieces, manipulate the controls, etc. Extremely fast and whirlwind. I am an alert and oriented adult who could hold on, sort of. I can't image how much an older person would have gotten from this orientation. These people are simply unbelievable. I have been trying to return some equipment to them for several months, for which I'm being charged monthly. IF you're able to actually talk to someone after being on hold for 30 or 40 minutes, they will keep transferring you from person to person, and then you'll be cut off. Today, after spending some 45 minutes in that pursuit, I was told that I needed to get a prescription to return the equipment! Which the doctor told me is untrue. It is beyond my comprehension how this company remains an approved CMS provider. They are out and our crooks. Besides missing two appointments, they replaced my wheelchair with one that is a worthless piece of junk. The cheapest Drive wheelchair available that Amazon sells for 119 yet they bill Medicare $200 per month. Crooks like these are the reason that Medicare is in such trouble. Too bad we can't give zero stars. All of the reviews are correct- This is absolutely the worst company that I have ever dealt with. After lies and more lies from their Customer Service Reps regarding delivery times and lies and more lies regarding promises of callbacks from Supervisors and/or Managers I decided to call their Corporate Office, which, supposedly, is located in Roslyn Heights. I called at 2:45 this afternoon and requested a callback from a Supervisor or Manager. The telephone rep, Sheila, assured me that I would receive a callback within one hour. Of course, nobody called back. Sheila tried repeatedly to get a Manager, either Tom or Dominic, to take my call, to no avail. They closed at 5:00 and there goes a waste of my afternoon. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB. I also suggested that Sheila read the reviews on Yelp so she gets a better understanding of the company she is working for. Poor Sheila and all the phone reps that work for this unreliable unethical company. read more

We started out with Continued Care for all of our supplies and DME - it wasn't perfect, but the staff always found a way to make things right. Late in 2018, Landauer acquired Continued Care - and seems to have systematically made everything worse. The problems started with math - they don't seem to understand it. When you have a delivery date (say the 7th of each month), and they only deliver a part of your monthly order on that date, it's probably not a huge issue provided they can deliver the remainder before you run out. So - using the 7th, let's say they complete the delivery on the 21st - and, to be as fair as possible, you didn't run out in the meantime... Not a huge problem - something we can definitely deal with. Until you find out that Landauer has now scheduled the entirety of your next monthly delivery for the 21st of the next month. That puts you at more than 45 days from your prior delivery, and two weeks beyond the consumption of your monthly supplies. We've tried to explain it - they claim that the insurance company won't let them ship again until 30 days have passed. Wrong, ill-informed and unwilling to listen. I've spent hours on the phone with my insurance carrier - they contacted Landauer Medstar and finally got a bit of movement early in 2019. Landauer promptly missed the next shipment date without any explanation. Now that Landauer seems to have terminated all of the old Continued Care employees, the situation has gone from bad to worse. If you have a choice of DME provider, Landauer Medstar should not even cross your mind. If you don't have a choice, I'd recommend changing insurance companies until you find one that will give you a choice other than Landauer Medstar. If you're stuck and can't change - do yourself a favor and google search for the supplies you need the most. If you're lucky, you can purchase small quantities directly without a prescription - at your own expense. That's what it takes to be a Landauer Medstar customer. read more

Landauer Medstar is the worst. Avoid at all costs. Unreliability is their middle name. And forget about getting help by phone. Besides having unrealistically limited official hours of availability (9-5 M-F only), they don't even reliably answer the phone then. For example, Monday morning at 9 a.m., I called them, was put on hold with cheesy, annoying music for 25 minutes -- and then got an automated message that the office was closed for the day due to inclement weather. I would give it a zero if that were an option. I was provided a CPAP machine in September, prescribed by my doctor and to be paid for by Medicare. Since then, I have been screamed at on the phone by a representative because I wasn't using the machine enough yet to meet Medicare requirements (it's taking me a long time to adjust to the machine). My doctor has also been screamed at. And now they have called my son and lied to him, saying the machine was never paid for my me. Then when I called them, the very same person who lied to my son, told me he never said that! I am returning the machine, writing the CEO of the company, telling my doctor and posting wherever I can. I have had a lot of difficulty with this company ever since my mother started using their services to provide oxygen in the fall. They have delivered faulty equipment, been difficult to reach, left me on hold for long periods of time, not given specific windows of time when they will arrive. I can't imagine my parents having to deal with this themselves. For a couple of weeks now I have been trying to get the oxygen machine removed. Twice they told me to fax over an order from doc's office which our doc did. Today I called and they told me they no longer accept faxes and the doctor must log in to their portal to discontinue. I would not use them unless you have no other options. read more

I ordered a Dreamstation Go, it worked fine and then gave me a "service required" message. Landauer said it only supports the machine for 30 days, and (it is now 11 months old and has another 18 months under warranty) that I have to get Philips Respironics to service it. Philips says Landauer handles shipment/returns/repairs. All I know is, I bought this from Landauer, and if I knew they were not going to service the product longer than 30 days, I would never have bought from them. I have to applaud Landauer Medstar for their consistency. They will screw up anything they are given the chance to screw up. Every time I order CPAP supplies they screw up. They send a mask, but not tubing. Or they send tubing but no mask. Their employees apparently flunked the exam to get a job at McDonald's. All of this could be avoided if they had a functional web site for ordering supplies, which they don't. Instead, you are left dealing with a Soviet-era call center that asks you for the same information three times over. Landauer is so bad that many people pay out of pocket to use CPAP.com just to avoid dealing with them. The sole reason they exist is that they are the cheapest possible provider to insurers, which basically sell patients down the river by using them. I sincerely hope there is an HMO executive out there whose mom needs CPAP supplies so that he too can have the joy of dealing with Landauer Met. Sadly, you have wasted your time by reading this review, since they have a local monopoly with your insurer. You are forced to use them. Ha ha ha ha. read more

They are so horrible. Check their BBB rating before dealing with them and try your very best to find some other company to deal with, I can't imagine any other company could be worse. I have called and been lied to and have been disconnected no less than a dozen times in the past week (probably more than a dozen). They submit a claim to my insurance, they don't reply back to the insurance company with the information they forgot to give them the first time, so the claim stays open. This has has happened three months in a row, they won't respond to the insurance company with the necessary info. So, they want me to pay list price (so much more than Amazon charges) and I have to trust them to finally do what they insurance company has asked and get the claim processed at the rate that they and BCBS has agreed to by contract. Then, they ship another order that I canceled, so now they will probably bill me list price for that too, and maybe charge me an additional restocking fee. Run as fast as you can from this company, find someone else, any other company, assuming they haven't purchased every other available company. They want to be, and are succeeding, a monopoly if you want to go through your insurance company. Or, try to go direct to one of the many companies on line that will sell you the items directly, it will be cheaper, and much less aggravating. read more

They told me I was covered "100%" for a CPAP machine and then I was billed by my insurance company for almost $800. Medstar admitted they were wrong but did nothing about it. (even though it gets reimbursed 100% by my insurance company!). Then, after I paid the almost $800 because I need the machine, I got another bill in the mail for almost $100 more. When I asked my insurance company what this was for, I was told that I am only renting the machine, that this was a monthly charge, AND that I would be responsible for another four installments. When I tried calling Medstar about this, they said that "they could not find me in their system." Medstar is a disreputable company who does not care about their customers - they only care that they get paid and if you have a problem, well, it is your problem not theirs. Do NOT use this company. The staff's LIES are never consistent to patients who are eligible for a portable oxygen concentrator (rechargeable - no oxygen refill needed), so Landauer Medstar can continue to charge insurance company for portable oxygen that requires a refill. Landauer Medstar supplies portable oxygen cylinders with either NO oxygen or last a little over an hr than 3 hours - They are playing with patients' LIFE. Landauer Medstar should lose their bid from Medicare to be a service provider. I write this after having done business with this company over four (4) years and many times wishing to take my business elsewhere. I have currently been waiting for 3 days for an oxygen delivery to the home. I have worked in health care for 2o years, and this is the most pathetic excuse for a health care company I have ever come across. The customer service is non-existent. They are unknowledgeable, unhelpful, rude, disrespectful, and sarcastic. They either have no idea how to solve even the most simple problems that occur, or perhaps worse, no will to do so. When given directions or important information they do not communicate such to their delivery people. They then blame the patient for what are obviously their mistakes resulting from the lack of communication within their organization. This company should be avoided and boycotted wherever and whenever possible. Landauer Medstar should lose their bid to be a Medicare service provider. If enough people call and complain to Medicare, they may take action and hopefully will. I am going to look into other oxygen suppliers in my area one being Primecare 631-447-0093 and the other Alpine 631-941-0777. Hopefully, they will actually deliver the oxygen they are charging Medicare for and treat people more respectfully. read more

Do NOT deal with this company. I had worked for both Landauer Metropolitian and Medstar Surgical in the past and both companies where horrible on an individual bases, When my husbands doctor told me that they where going to order oxygen for him and they where using Landauer Medstar I thought well since they merged that perhaps they got their act together. Well was I wrong I am so sorry I allowed them to order oxygen from them. I am trying to get a portable Concentrator for my husband since February. My average hold time is at least 15-20 min. and then customer service can't help you so they send you to someone in tech support named Frank who sounds like you are bothering him when you ask a question that's if he answers if you go into voice mail and leave a message he never calls back. Its now been 5 months and I still don't have the the item. I hope that if one of their family members is in need of equipment they go elsewhere. My CPAP machine malfunctioned and it has been virtually impossible to get anyone on the telephone, much less to have the matter addressed. I was told that by my sleep doctor that most of the CPAP providers perform poorly in the customer service department but it is difficult to believe that any of them could be as bad as this company. read more
