I have been using a CPAP for four and a half years. The previous supplier was Continued Care who I believe was bought out by Landauer. I thought Continued Care was bad because deliveries were late and they took a while to respond. They were an AllStar team compared to Landauer. Since they took over, not sure exactly when but at least a year, they have not gotten an order right. Trying to deal with them is actually painful. Getting a new supplier to day. I ordered one item for my CPAP. Was told it would cost $30. Paid the $30 while on the phone. After I received the item, I received a bill for $60. After 2 long phone calls on 4/21/20 Ashley agreed to drop the $60 charge. Next month I received a bill for $77.47 for another item, which I didn't order, however was shipped to me. I called on 5/6/20 and spoke with Abby. I offered to return the item that I didn't order. She told me no need, and that she would remove the charge. The next month I received an other bill for the same , but this time for $92.47, due to a late fee. I called today, spoke with Nicole, and was told that Abby didn't make an note about promising me to remove the charge. Once again, I offered to return the item that I didn't order. She told me that she would need to transfer me to someone else. After being put on hold for a long time a gave up. Bottom line, if you need to order something from this company be aware that they may overcharge you and send you an item that you didn't order and then bill you for it. Do not work with this company, if you can. If you do, make sure you understand exactly what your insurance company covers going in. My insurance covered 100% of supplies. All of a sudden, Landauer starts sending me bills, claiming my insurance did not cover 100% but only 50%. This was not true; I confirmed multiple times with my insurance company and even got an advocate involved. It appears Landauer pads their bottom line by charging their customers for supplies that insurance has already paid for, hoping their customers will just pay and not look into it. And, believe me, it's impossible to dispute charges with Landauer: they will attempt to destroy your credit. Stay away from this borderline fraud/criminal enterprise. read more

Merchandise that was ordered for my wife through a nursing home never arrived and later shipped to a wrong address after I notified them. Avoid this company at all costs. Totally dysfunctional. Every re-supply order they've sent has been wrong, including the follow ups to correct the first one. That means I have to keep taking the incorrect stuff to the post office. They're difficult to reach by phone- hold times are lengthy, transfers to the wrong department, cut off and worse- after being transferred I was on hold for an hour yesterday until I realized that they closed in the meantime. The music they selected for hold time might be grounds for a class action lawsuit. The person I just spoke with said he couldn't find me in their system. ?!?#\!! It must be a poor work environment, since most of the folks you get on the phone border, or cross over, to the surly side. Dear Yelp.. Please give me a way to rate a business with negative stars since these losers do not deserve the one. dr. ordered the machine and a rep had to come to show me how to use it. That kid was miserable on ce he walked through the door and I told him its ok.. you can go. He said really? I said yes, I don't feel like burning sage for a week to get rid of your negativity. 7 months later I received a bill for the full price of the machine due to in compliance. what? They sent me and billed my insurance for several months of supplies since I was in compliance. I wound up in collections due to in compliance. I called my doctor, he remotely polled the machine and said I was 98% compliant. Not to worry, the company is nothing but problems and are being lazy. I called on 11/14/22 and ask them to please reship my supplies that were lost and they said they would and would expedite the shipment. I called on 11/18/22 and spoke with a supervisor named Jordan and he said I will check with the warehouse and will call you back today (11/18/22), no return called. I called again today 11/21/22 and Victoria told me they cannot ship additional orders and I must wait an additional 7-10 days before another order can be placed. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I just came home on June 29th 2020 from a hip surgery. The recovery home set up delivery for hip kit, toilet and walker. I arrived home 12 noon and delivery. They called me 4:59 I had my phone in my hand but I only received a message so I call back at 5 ... Business closed. While I was calling them they called my wife and asked if I lived at said address. She says yes.No delivery. Next day(today) 6/30 I called and got the call around to 3 different times to finally reach someone that claimed to help. We talked and she said she'd try to get someone out today. I gave her my card number but she entered and kept entering the wrong number because she repeated a different number so I said I'd pay by check. Sending results, it's 6 p m and no call or delivery. When advised to contact the shipper and investigate, they say it's my responsibility to pay them, even though I never received anything. Sadly, this company has ruined the excellent, reliable service provided by Continued Care. Since the acquisition, it has screwed up every time I've contacted them. 1. An order placed last Dec was never fulfilled, despite a confirmation email being sent. I was told it fell thru the cracks since it had been submitted via Continued Care's website. Landauer processed the order in Jan and I was billed for the full purchase (new year, new deductible). I challenged the bill successfully. 2. During this encounter with Landauer, I was told CPAP nasal covers had to be shipped one at a time in order to be covered by insurance. Each was subject to a separate fee (again, due to having a new deductible). I paid the add'l cost, only to be told by the new company I switched to that I was given inaccurate information. More about that in a minute. 2. During the back & forth with Landauer, I was assured I'd be set up for quarterly reminders. None came. When I realized it and called, I was told there was no record of having set me up for notifications. 3. I then placed an order online using Landauer's website. An error message appeared so I re-entered the entire order and submitted it again. I received two email confirmations and had to call to avoid being billed in entirety for the duplicate order. I was told the orders hadn't gone thru yet and To call back in 24-48 hours. When I called back this week, I was told there was no record of either submission. Despite having received two confirmation emails, neither one included an order # so the customer service rep couldn't assist further. An offer was made to take the request by phone but frankly, I was fed up and no longer wanted to do business with Landauer. Instead, I contacted my healthcare provider and requested a new prescription and a new source for CPAP supplies. A prescription was submitted within several hours and I received a phone call from the new provider to help with my order the same day. THAT'S HOW BUSINESS SHOULD BE DONE! This company is horrible. Every time you call they make a different excuse as to why something isn't done. They stall sending the oxygen and placing out orders. My mom was on backorder for a portable oxygen machine for 4 years now. First it was the company makes deliveries once a month and she would have to wait until January. Now she's no longer a patient but they sent her 5 tanks two weeks ago. It ridiculous, f*** this company and the people that don't try to help. I just took my mother home from the hospital in the summer of around 7/6/2021 and I had my phone on silence and her phone also and I happened to forget that I was supposed to get delivery of medical supplies, chairs, benches etc so I did not know the delivery man was calling etc, however I do have a doorman etc so he could have left the items with him. Instead, I finally pick up and he started yelling at me, cussing, being aggressive that how do i dare make him wait and why don't I pick up etc. It was awful and he was horrific. I really hope he gets fired for this behavior, I wish I would have had the energy to call the company to make sure he looses his job, not only I am dealing with a sick family member, I get yelled at. If I could give zero or even negative stars for this company, I would. My wife had her sleep study last August, and received her CPAP machine in October. Landauer Medstar was supposed to be her supply company, but during the three months we were living in New York before we moved to Florida, we NEVER RECEIVED ONE SINGLE SHIPMENT. About a month after we moved, we received a letter from Landauer Medstar (signed "Ronald") saying that we had not paid them for supplies (which were supposed to be covered by Medicare anyway) and that they were going to be sending our account to a collection agency. We had to try multiple times to contact "Ronald" by phone, and when we finally reached him his responses to our questions were robotic, as if he was reading off of a script. We could not make him understand that we had never received any supplies or bills, or that we had moved from New York to Florida, or that we wanted to return this machine and start over again with a Florida doctor and supplier. He kept promising to return our phone calls; he never did. We finally gave up on "Ronald" and are now dealing with his alleged supervisor, "Rhey", who also does not return our phone calls and is not in any way helping us to resolve this situation. All we've asked for - repeatedly - is a box and a prepaid UPS label so that we can return the machine and be done with this company and its idiocy, We will be visiting New York in October. If I have to make a special trip to this company just to return their precious CPAP machine, I promise they're going to get it back in several pieces, not all of them functional. I was honestly a bit terrified by the reviews of Landauer Medstar after I selected them after a restless night of CPAP titration to receive my equipment from. I have to say that the reviews are totally unfounded, except for a bad experience at the beginning. They had my prescription, but never called me since they said the phone number on the prescription was wrong (they included a copy with my machine, and I can see where it was less than 100% legible, so not entirely their fault) Anyhow, once we got that straightened out, they set me up for a delivery for which they showed up on time. I assumed that my contact with them of any usefulness would be over at that point, but how wrong I was. I'd emailed my doctor, and he said that I might want to go in for a mask fitting (to his office) which I did, and they wrote me a script for a new mask. Contacted QMES (the parent company of Medstar) and they shipped me the new mask. Fast forward a few weeks, the new mask wasn't working out that well. Called them back, they told me to check around online for what mask I wanted to try. Settled on the ResMed AirFit F20 (an awesome full face mask!) and they shipped it to me. The F20 was causing irritation to the bridge of my nose. I'd read something online about a product that helps with that, and called to see about getting it. The nice person that answered the phone told me "we have that, and I can sell it to you - but you don't really want it. Go to the local drugstore and get moleskin pads instead. They're a lot cheaper and do the same thing". Did that, and voila, problem solved! Giving up a sale so that the customer is more satisfied is my definition of great customer service. Bought a replacement power supply from them as well for when I travel, and they had it to me quickly and at a very reasonable cost (cheaper than you can get them online from CPAP suppliers). At least for CPAP, these guys are great (particularly the centralized PAP Compliance department in PA). read more

Twice I tried to return calls from Landauer Medstar about scheduling my new CPAP machine--after about 20 minutes each time I simply couldn't wait on hold any longer on what were, after all, work days of my own. Today I took the day off and tried again. I was relieved at first to hear that my estimated wait time was less than 3 minutes, but that exact message replayed over and over for the next half hour until I was disconnected. When I immediately caled back, the estimated wait time had bumped up to 20 minutes. If Landauer had wanted to design a phone system that annoyed and discouraged its callers, this would be it. read more

This company is a criminal enterprise. They were paid in full by my insurance company, not once, but twice after I made an appeal at their behest. Now, almost two years after the fact, I'm getting billed personally yet again. When I asked for a detailed invoice as to why I'm being billed, I was hung up on. It is your RIGHT as a patient in New York State to receive a detailed bill. I called them back with my insurance company on the line with me and told Landauer they are no longer to bill or contact me, but this week I received another threatening letter and bill after they promised to never contact me again. Explain to me how this company has only one drill to install grab bars in the bathroom? If that drill breaks, which happened, you will have to wait until they get another to install your grab bars. This means another day without being able to bathe. In other words, sorry our drill broke, see you another day. How professional is that? Another thing is that they charge $25 per grab bar. And if you don't know, you have to request for the grab bars to be installed or they will deliver the bars and leave them with you without being installed. That doesn't make sense. I guess they expect everyone to have the equipment and skill to install the grab bars themselves. Let's see if they arrive today to finally install the grab bars. Yes, it's Saturday but it was suppose to be installed yesterday and they said they will come today to do it. Only time will tell. They need a better system and definitely some more back up drills. read more

If you like to be on the receiving end of poor customer service, incessant Robo calls, and bad information, this medical supply "bucket shop" is for you. My insurance company listed them as a provider of a CPAP. When the machine failed after three years they were totally useless in helping me get it repaired, claiming it wasn't possible, but offering to sell me a new one. "Maybe, if you have your doctor write you a note saying you need a new machine your insurance company may pay for it," I was told. I did that, following a medical exam, and this information turned out to be wrong. As did the information that I could not get my machine fixed. Luckily, Yelp came to the rescue and I located NuCare pharmacy in Manhattan. They arrange for my machine to be repaired and rented me a loaner while it was being fixed. I called for replacement tubing for my oxygen (24/7) and the representative couldn't tell me what I had in order to reorder. She wanted to send me 4 25ft tubing which would not have gone to the end of my home. I got upset after repeating myself and asked for a supervisor. That representative kept me on hold without confirming for over 10 mins. I hung up and called back. Each time it rang then went right on hold. Obviously she wasn't happy that I raised my voice, which I did because she wouldn't give me a supervisor. You can't call any other number to log a complaint, nor can you email the company regarding the treatment you receive. So I guess I keep trying or call my dr to order the supplies - I would do it on line, but since I wasn't home when they delivered I have no idea of the length or type of tubing I need. Extremely poor company - you may get lucky but it is not a dependable company that you can't even reach. read more

I am updating this review after some developments about an hour after the delivery window closed. At 6pm, I called Landaur Medstar to find the offices were now closed. I pressed the option to leave an emergency message for medical equipment. I was connected to a messaging service, who took my message that I had been waiting since 2pm for the delivery, and no one had showed up now that the time window was passed. About 35 minutes later, I received a call from the delivery person, who said he was leaving now and would arrive in approximately 30 minutes. He arrived 1 hour and 15 minutes later, but with the CPAP in hand. He was friendly and professional, and apologized that Landauer had cancelled my delivery in the morning, then only after I called had re-instated it to him. He had actually gone home for the day when they notified him. So 2 hours late, after a 6 hour wait, the delivery was completed. It seems Landauer enjoys cancelling delivery with no intention of notifying the customer, and even leaves them waiting all day still expecting it. I will raise them to 2 stars only because of the nice and professional delivery person. I still wouldn't recommend, because they obviously don't have their act together. You can't count on them unless you make it an emergency, which de-prioritizes more serious emergencies and patients. read more

By far, this is the worst medical company I've ever had to deal with. Their telephone service is horrendous and the employees rude - if you can get one on the line. My typical telephone experience is four disconnects, 20 minutes of being "caller number two", five minutes of being "caller number one", and finally a message saying, "no one is available to take your call." I've left four messages. No one has returned my call. It's shameful how a company that is related to people's healthcare can get away with such poor performance. They clearly have no conscience and no concept of patients' medical needs. I guess they are very happy gouging the insurance companies with exhorbitant pricing that perhaps they don't have a need (clearly there is no desire) for customer service. I use this company for CPAP supplies and it's been nothing but a headache. They say they'll remind me when I'm eligible for replacement supplies, but they don't. I can't request new supplies online (like I'd expect literally any modern company to allow); instead I have to call. If I ask for "all eligible supplies," they will only send the mask + tube + filter, not a water chamber. I asked specifically for a water chamber, and they instead sent a 2nd type of mask. When I called to let them know, they informed me I had to send back that 2nd mask or I'd be charged for it (even though I never ordered it!). read more

i had a hip replaced and needed a walker to use at home. Apparently the hospital works with Landauer, and someone representing them came to my hospital room. We were told we'd have to pay for the walker immediately with a credit card. Using them for cpap supplies... can't get thru on the phone, get disconnected when finally thru, they don't send right order or the order doesn't come. Just got some supplies after initial order never came. The one mask I needed was sent in the wrong size. Just ordered it from Amazon, I just go on Amazon and order from there. I get it the next day. It costs me but at least i'm not aggravated. Looking for another supplier. One of our orders went to a former address, even though subsequent orders were to new address. One of the worst experiences with the most incompetent staff it's ever been my misfortune to have been stuck with. My husband had back surgery and they delivered a giant commode by mistake to my apartment building, which they left totally exposed, no box, nothing with the doorman. The doctor never ordered it. The next day they delivered a raised toilet to his office by mistake. Not only didn't they pick up the gigantic commode which is now in our apartment, they never delivered the proper equipment. That's three days worth of wrong places, wrong deliveries and wrong equipment. Thank God this was not life threatening or he'd be dead. This is a terrible supply vender. They are extremely user unfriendly. They put you on hold, refuse to talk to you without a prescription and to top it off have the most disorganized billing center imaginable. Sometimes they bill , sometimes they wait months to bill. I returned my not very comfortable bed in December and I'm still paying for it until March. They charge $55 extra a month to have a fully electric bed. That is $660 over what Medicare pays. I bought a fully electric bed from Macy's fot $1300. It is more comfortable and more attractive. Think 1000 times before you give Landauer one penny of your money. read more
