I took my 2014 Ford F-150 in for a gas leak near the gas tank area, and a safety recall from Ford Motor Company at no cost to me. I received a call the next day from the service advisor stating I needed a fuel line. He also stated I needed spark plugs, fuel filter, coil packs,and air filter at a cost of $3000 plus tax. Keep in mind my truck was runing flawless. He never mention the repair about the Ford recall that was FREE. After I refused the $3000.00 estimate, He told me I had to pay a $244.94 diagnostic fee. I payed the fee and took my vehicle to Auto Nation Ford where the truck was repaired for $1800.00. My suggestion is that you stay away from Landers Ford Collierville especially if you have older parents, for they will smile in your face and surely take advantage you. read more

My wife saw a used Toyota at this dealership that she liked, we went in and test drove it and she wanted to finance it because she had just paid off her RAV4. We went to their finance department, ms. Burton kept asking could you put a down payment of 2000 and a minute later asked if my wife could put 5000 dollar down payment, I told her I would pay it if it took off enough to have the monthly payments reasonable and we thought we were done with the hiccups in this deal and then she claimed she could not sell the vehicle without gap insurance we did a lot of back-and-forth and my wife in end accepted what she said,they floated her information to at least two and possibly three dozen banks and financial institutions the very one that accepted the deal was the bank that she had just paid off her RAV4 so we went to the one of the local banks and talked to the vice president and we told him that we did not want to finance the car and we would pay it off mainly because of the gap insurance glitch he told my wife they would never have required gap insurance. She was one of the best customers they ever had she paid, for the RAV4 two years ahead of time and if we were paying the whole deal off in cash, then it was not any financing involved he said any transaction that was cancelled or paid off in less than 30 days there really is no account or financing charge.We went back to the dealership and asked for the title. They said they didn't have it. The bank had it. The bank said they didn't have it. The dealership had it. We finally got the title in about eight weeks. and could not drive it because we could not get tags and registration.I Ialso inquired about the gap insurance payment refund the woman in financing claimed she didn't have anything to do with getting a refund. She said it was another part of Ford and it would be approximately 2 to 3 months before we get the gap insurance money refunded.. we are wondering what happened to the $5000 down payment and according to the paperwork that she fixed up that money was going to the financial institution in charge of this account the bank said there is no account if transaction is cancelled or paid off in 30 days or less there is no account so I wonder who's got the money that we were essentially tricked out of this dealership is a den of dishonesty. Their slogan is if it doesn't say Landers you paid too much, well if it says Landers Ford South you damn sure paid too much and probably glad that you got out of this den of thieves, with your shirt on your back and nothing else, this place needs to go out of business immediately. Gabe made my experience easy and enjoyable. Being a first time buyer can be stressful but I wasn't really stressed! I will say everything with the car I bought was great but after I got home I did notice the coolant was low, I called up to see if they could top it off they told me yes and I drove all the way out there for the service guy to tell me "they didn't carry my type of coolant" no big deal but just a waste of my time and gas. Taking advantage of Seniors! When you bring your vehicle in, advice from experts is what you are looking for. My father brought in is his aged vehicle in for a diagnosis, it had a warranty on it from Endurance. The insurance required the transmission pan removed to validate. They are charging him $1000 to drop a pan and locate metal fragments. He is going to lose this vehicle for $1000. The dealership should raise the questions as to whether it was worth doing this work on an old vehicle, knowing the insurance could potentially deny. The other issue I have is the cost to drop a pan, they can inspect the fluid from the dipstick. To drop a pan should not be a grand. $189 per hour, so 5 hours' worth of work? Spoke with Service manager was told, Tough. So, he either pays the $1000 to get back a truck with a bad transmission or lets them have it. Out a vehicle, on a fixed income. I just spent the last week hammering out a deal on a used car with this dealer. After some back and forth, I put down a deposit and was going to come out and purchase the vehicle. After I placed my deposit, Landers must have decided that they didn't like the deal we came to and sent the car to auction instead. I work nights and sacrificed sleep on days I worked to be more convenient for them, and their response was to just sell a car out from under someone coming in from across the state, rather than honor the deal they agreed to. I will never shop at a Landers location ever. And I encourage anyone else considering it to rethink it, as they are not a business that honors their word. And when I called the dealer to see if anything could be arranged to let me still come pick up the car, I was told "nope, the car is sold," and then hung up on by sales manager Tim. We would give -10 stars if possible. This place has the absolute WORST customer service and service department I have ever had to deal with. My husband is working out of town in TN and had to have his F-150 diesel serviced for "codes" that were appearing. He wanted it serviced by a Ford dealership to ensure it stays in top condition so back on December 17th he called and made a service appointment to have his truck fixed. They scheduled him for December 19th - he told them he would be going back home for the holidays so they had until January 6th to fix his truck. While he was home he kept calling them to try to get updates (as they never once called him). After a while they said stuff like, "they're test driving it now and will get back to you" "they have it in there working on it" and when he would ask to speak to the tech or the service manager they were always in a meeting and you can't leave a voicemail as it disconnects you. He arrived back to town 1/6 and had to rent a car since we still couldn't find anything out. He called every day since and was given a different story. Yesterday he took time off work to drive over there and speak to someone. THEY HADN'T EVEN LOOKED INTO THE CODES AND SAID THEY WOULDN'T GET TO IT TILL NEXT WEEK. ONE MONTH - they had this vehicle ONE MONTH after the appointment time and date THEY GAVE HIM, they lied several times, never communicated with us at all and didn't even have a reason or an apology for any of this. We have lodged a complaint with Ford corporate and taken the truck to a new dealership. Not only did they not look at it but we had to have someone come and help jump the truck - no they did not offer nor did they do anything - as the battery was dead!!!!! My 2002 Ford Crown Victoria had a computer module issue. The part was obsolete due to the age of the car so ! Went on line,found someone to rebild it and went back to Landers. Allen told me after they put this part back in that it wasn't workiing right so I sent it back to the rebuilders for repair! Back to Allen they installed it checked and verified that everything worked as it was suppossed to! Couldn't ask for better service or a better service manager to work with great mechanic as well. Dropped my truck for recall work and asked that they diagnose it if they had time and do a service on the front differential. Quoted 3-5 days for recall work and the rest would take 3 to 4 weeks possibly. I asked to have the recall work done in that time and whatever else could be done. Recall work should take 1/2 day. Then, I call after 4 days. My truck got put in the "diagnose" stack by mistake. They said it would be another 5 days and started raising his voice when I asked some questions. Excuse after excuse. Finally he yelled at me that I could pick my truck up or leave it. So I did just that and already have an appointment across town in two days. Tried to call and talk to service manager. What a joke! Couldn't get him or anyone else on the phone. Picked my truck up and no apology or anything. No explanation. This after 6 repeat visits with the same truck to have my sunroof repaired only to have it screw up again "outside of warranty". Save yourself the time and frustration. Simply go somewhere else. Anywhere else. If this was the only Ford dealership within a five hour drive, I'd drive twice as far. read more

Was looking to purchase a new Ford F150 in 2017 and saw a newspaper ad for some vehicles they furnished for the FedEx St. Jude Golf tournament with a specific percentage off MSRP. Upon my first visit, my wife and I told the salesman we'd wait at the vehicle while he retrieved the key. After waiting in the 95+ degree hot sun on the burning asphalt for over 15 minutes we decided to head to the front office to see why he hadn't returned only to find him shooting the breeze with the General Manager and another guy. Needless to say we left and returned another day thinking we'd get a better experience. A few days later we talked with another salesperson who informed us that the percentage mentioned in the ad was not the real discount being offered so they told us what the price of what they were willing to sell it for and left telling the salesman we'd be back in 2 days (a Friday) with our vehicle to consider for trade in. Friday, the salesman called stating the vehicle we were interested in was already sold but he might could find a better deal on a different one. Actually, my son called the dealership to uncover that exact vehicle was still on the lot available for sale. Needless I went elsewhere to buy my 2017 F150 Lariat!!!Unless you enjoy being jerked around...STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP AS POSSIBLE!!! These guys are the worst customer service place in the Memphis area. Call them to get to their service department? The other day it took hours, 3 hours straight to be exact and THEY NEVER ANSWERED. They always try to sell my mother stuff for her car she doesn't need and get over on her due to her lack of knowledge of vehicles. They are always super slow, and when they say they'll call when doing work on a vehicle they never do at the promised time. They always make us call and check on them. They tried telling me that they didn't have the title and then I confirmed with the finance company that they did, in fact, have the title the week after the sale took place. I'm not a complainer, but Landers Ford leaves much to be desired. Earlier this year, my boyfriend brought his car in for a routine oil change. They didn't bother to call to let us know that the vehicle was ready-we had to call back hours later for them to finally tell us that the car was ready. OK FINE-we take the car home and quickly notice that the car is now leaking oil. His car is fairly new-only about 3 years old and we have never known it to do this prior to the recent oil change. So we take the car back to learn that they did not replace a bolt during the oil change process. Ok-so they replace the bolt and we all resume with our lives. A few days later the car is STILL leaking oil. So we take it back AGAIN and this time whoever replaced the screw over-torqued and stripped the bolt. Now the repair would be more difficult and required a part to be ordered. At this point, we've brought the car in 3 times for what should have been a BASIC oil change. They gave us a rental car for our troubles since our schedules didn't align in order to bring our car back-which was appreciated, but only offered because we demanded to speak with a manager. The car was fixed and we again resumed with our lives. My boyfriend brought the car back just this past Saturday for another oil change. Apparently we didn't hear our phones ringing, but we received two voicemails: the first saying that our car was ready and the second was from "Shawn" saying he needed to speak with us about the car. We called back only to be told that "it must have been the OTHER Shawn that called you and I'll have him call you back." We didn't receive a call-and upon our arrival to pick up a car we were instructed to pay the fee. We asked about what the phone call was about and Shawn at the front desk told us that the battery had about 1/2 the charge-but it would have been appreciated if we could have found out about this prior to us picking up the car because that would mean that we would need to come back or wait for it to be replaced. At this point, I've had it with Landers Ford. They can't seem to handle the simplest of tasks from actually returning a phone call to making sure that they replace the bolts during an oil change. I would NOT recommend the service center here at Landers Ford unless you like to come back repeatedly for simple errors. read more

I've been in twice to get a simple switch replaced. The first time they were unable to do it and could not give me a time and date to try again. It's been over two months and I tried again, same story. There's two pieces to this review, the vehicle I purchased and the salesman I worked with. The vehicle, a 2017 Mustang GT, and the salesman, Calvin Falkner. A third piece would be the gentleman who worked with me on financing. His name escapes me, but he's a middle eastern gentleman who was absolutely phenomenal. This is where the review pains me. I love the vehicle and I thoroughly enjoyed the gentleman who helped me with financing. Calvin Falkner, the salesman, I would never work with again if he was the last human selling cars on earth. It pains me to admit but he duped me. I was looking for a very specific vehicle, 2015-2019 black Mustang GT Premium with black rims and black logos. I knew what my car was worth and I knew what price point I was looking for. I wasn't willing to pay a penny over $30,000, NOT including my trade in. It took a minute to find the car I was looking and when I found it, I conveyed these sentiments. It was your normal sales process, he had a "deal" I told him no, he went "back" and came forward with another deal. At the end of the dog and pony sales show, he verbatim said, "If you're willing to sign this right now, $29,999, you'll buy the car", I said, "yes". It's the price I was looking for so I signed it. My fiancee came in and we signed the paperwork only to realize later on, he had faked the price by pointing to a different number in the maze of garbage numbers he presented to me. This was not a lack of communication, he knew exactly what I was looking for. I admit, this is my fault. I should've known better and paid better attention. That being said, if you're buying a car from Lander's and Calvin Falkner is your salesman, take the hardest pass you can muster. Everyone has a right to make money, but to be a shady salesman and sully the name of Ford Motor Cars, you should be called out. DO NOT WORK WITH CALVIN FALKNER. I can't speak for the rest of Lander's Ford and this isn't the point of this review. However, Calvin Falkner is employed by Lander's and prospective buyers should be aware. read more
