Hi Lena, I wanted to leave honest feedback because I've never had this issue before. I got my nails done on May 8th, and within a short time they started feeling brittle and crumbling/chipping much earlier than expected. Looking closely, it also appears the dip powder may not have been fully cured or sealed properly because you can still see tiny white spots throughout the nails. I usually don't experience this with fresh sets, so I was disappointed, especially since I initially liked how they looked. First time at this nail salon. I made an appointment the day before for a pedicure. I walked in right at my appointment time and was taken straight to a chair for my pedicure. There were several others waiting, but I really appreciated that having the appointment meant I didn't have to wait at all. There were 10 pedicure chairs and probably 10-12 manicure chairs and on a Saturday at 10:30am, it was pretty busy. The place was clean and there were a ton of employees working. I chose the classic pedicure for $42. It included soaking your feet, nail and cuticle trimming, callus scrubbing, a sugar scrub on your legs and feet, a massage with lotion, a hot stone massage, and finally a hot towel. I would say for the price it's pretty similar to other places, but maybe a little bit cheaper. This was the second cheapest option, so there were other pedicure types that included more that were more expensive. There's also a ton of colors to choose from. I'm not sure how much more gel polish is since I just got regular polish. I was really happy with my pedicure. The chairs were comfy, the massage was great. And my feet are nice and refreshed. There is a 2.5% fee for using a credit card and there is an ATM there to use. I will definitely be back. read more

I was in a desperate need to get a full beauty service done before my 5week trip to Taiwan for my prewedding photoshoot. Special Nails at the last minute made accomentations to open early at 730am for me to get my Pedi with Tammy. She was amazing as always. She also did my eyebrow wax. She then transfer me to Sophia who did my nails. Sophia is definiately the master nail tech. She knows what she is doing. She recommended flex-gel extend almond shape which will last 3week+. I was done before 10am enough time for me to start packing. I love the fact they care about the clients experience by being professional, accomendating, and master in the art. The have upgraded their menu and spa chairs. They have been in business for so long and are able to keep it looking new and upgraded. They have so many choices of color and mimosa. My favorite spot to get my nails done in Roseville! I always get a gel manicure and it lasts for 2 weeks at minimum. This is not my experience with other salons and so this keeps me coming back! Additionally, the employees are all very friendly and efficient! I like to get my manicure and pedicure done at the same time and they have always been able to accommodate that for me. read more

All sets done by Sophia! I get a full set once a month and they always last 4+ weeks with no lifting, no peeling, no chipping, or breaking. She can do any design no problem! I go to Lena for pedicures because she is fantastic and her attention to detail is unmatched. I agree with all the positive YELP reviews! My husband and I don't live in the area, our son does. So it our first visit, but not our last visit. We called the last minute and asked for three pedicures, my husband and our son, and myself. First it's in very nice shopping center and the shop was bright clean and busy. They greeted us and said thank you for coming as we said. They sat us right away, none of that waiting 5min stuff turning into a hour wait. They also sat us together. I really appreciated they listen to us, we each picked a different service and there was no upsell no pressure. We had Tammy, Peter and Lilly. They were friendly and attentive and provided us each with excellent service. There pricing is average and upfront, of course they prefer cash but they have a QR code ready for Zelle or Venmo. read more

This was my first time going to this salon. They accept walk ins. First I got a classic pedicure with gel nails. It was a very nice experience. The massage was spectacular. The ambiance is nice and the music they play is quite relaxing. Next, I got my acrylics done. I showed Sophia my reference and she did an AMAZING job. Btw, this is the first time I've ever gotten a design like this. I'm usually more on the basic side like French tips and plain colors. Please book with Sophia. Conveniently located in a strip mall so parking is not an issue. Big place and beautifully decorated with lots of dripping chandeliers, crystal, and other shiny bits. Enormous selection of polish. Large screen TV over the back room doorway displaying videos of tropical places to get dreamily lost in. The front area is lined on both sides with bustling nail work, and the back area is for the pedicures, also lining both sides. If you have a large group, bring them HERE. I got the standard gel pedicure. A little more money than my home salon, but worth it. Annnd... the calf and foot massage went on forever! I've never had a place spend so much time on this part of the pedicure - it was divine. I was in and out in under 1 hour and look forward to returning. read more

She said "you will be at station 2" and turned away, walking quickly. I followed her assuming, she was taking me to the station. No she was just walking away. How am I supposed to know how you number your stations? Hot day today and I was thirsty- other customer had drinks. I asked if they had any drinks, like water or such. The lady said "ya" and walked away, did not give me options and came back with a mini water. Ok. Whatever. I'm sitting there waiting for 10 mins 20 mins, assuming my appointment will start at any time now, mind you I was never updated regarding what was happening with the wait time. I finally asked and was told it would be another 10-15 mins! Why would you not tell me that on the phone? Or when I came in? Or when I told you that I was looking for the shortest service possible? I understand a walk in is a walk in but at least explain to your customers what is going on instead of making them sit there thirsty and wonder. This woman had no warmth, every time I asked her something I felt like she was annoyed. On top of that, there was nail dust at the station I was sitting in very obvious spots. I read through some previous reviews regarding people getting infections after services at this salon.The lady who was going to be doing my nails did not seem anywhere near done with the previous client. I decided to leave. Sad because I have been looking for a nail salon in this area-the search continues.

Right before applying the chrome, they let me know it would be an additional $15. I was a little surprised, since that seemed pretty expensive, but they explained it was a higher-end chrome. When we sat down right away we didn't have to wait, I've told the lady I wanted an acrylic fill and nail shape change to almond, lady responded "okay but it's $10 extra charge." And I agreed with that, then I wanted chrome I wanted a green chrome color. I think she found what she looking for the nail last responded with"it $5 extra charge you want!? " I said no. Then she's started cleaning hear station and while filing my nails she started talking to her colleagues in their language I couldn't understand of what was being said but very unprofessional. While she was filing my nail; the nail lady filed down my nails a lot harder than before. And when she was filing my shapes to create the shape that I chose; I looked at my nails I didn't say anything yet. The nail lady said" what's wrong with nail?" I answered my left thumb and ring finger is crooked." Then she said " I know I'm not done." I sense attitude from her and kept her to her colleagues in their language. (She kept on talking to her colleagues in the entire appointment and spoke to me and husband in English). Over all experience was fine not the best, I like the overall shape of my nails but the quality wasn't best. There are some spots that are properly filled down and uneven buffing, the acrylic application was not properly it's uneven and she's the wrong tools for filing and buffing my nails. I never once was used a proper tool or even sterilized her after she used them. All of tool were dirty. (She use the same brush to wipe dust on my nails and use the same brush to dust off dirt/dust on the counter and used it again on my nails. VERY unhygienic!! )) We won't be coming because my nail lady gave me attitude and I didn't feel comfortable when everyone was speaking in their language and I don't know any what they are talking about, not professional. Lastly to end with this she didn't sterilize her tools and equipment.

Yes I arrived at 11:39 (early for my 11:45 appt) when I asked the front desk guy if my tech, who I visibly saw with my own eyes working actively on a client in the very beginning phase of a nail job, would be finished soon as my appt was at 11:45, he responded with a defensive "we are down 4 techs today" when I asked this I looked at the time at it was 11:45 exactly. I was not able to sit there for an hour as stated previously I have one day off and had other things to do. I'm not asking for special treatment, this is usually standard for an appointment. The front guy didn't even try to find out how long I would have to wait or if he would be finishing up soon (probably not considering I could see him clearly) so everything the business owner replied is actually not at all true and I don't appreciate the gaslighting.

I can't say enough great things about my experience! Sophia is an absolute gem--her talent and attention to detail with my nails always blows me away. She consistently delivers flawless results, and I always leave feeling so confident and pampered. Tammy also deserves a huge shout-out for her amazing work on my pedicure and eyebrow waxing. She's incredibly gentle, thorough, and professional. I felt completely relaxed in her care, and she left me looking and feeling fantastic. I have been so long for a nail salon where they can do different nail designs and not just basic styles, and i finally found it here thanks to yelp. first thing i noticed was how nice the place and atmosphere was, and how all the workers there looked nice and young (no offense, but a lot of nail salons i went to had older people working in it and it felt like they weren't really enjoyed being there). I asked for Sophia to do my nails after seeing all the good reviews and the nice work she did, and she didn't disappoint me at all!! I absolutely loooove what she did and surprisingly, it was cheaper than what others charge especially that i got some additional things made in some nails!! Update: I previously rated this place a 2 stars, but since then, the owner reached out to me on Yelp. We tried to work things out on both of our ends and have concluded that I will give them a 3 stars instead of 2 stars because I appreciated that he reached out to me to try to fix the problem I had with my nails being done. Of course my review initially wasn't to hurt them in any way, but it was for them to be able to improve on their business for current and incoming clients. I hope they don't take my review negatively and really work on improving for the future. I wish them the best in everything and hope they continue to improve. Came back in today to get my nails removed after Sophia did a FANTASTIC job (at their other location) Today, Ann took care of me. It was my first time getting a full set removed and she was so gentle and took her time to make sure I wasn't in pain as my nail beds were uncharacteristically sensitive. My nails were cleaned up well and without any damage. We had a great conversation too. They've definitely earned me as a repeat customer. I thought the service here was great and I thought Anthony did a great job on my nails and making them pretty and fun. Also I have a lot of cuts around my cuticles and when I've gone to other places they are never careful and always end up either cutting them up more or irritating them but Anthony was very careful. Overall my experience was great and I will definitely be going back. Not gonna lie I'm pretty rough with my nails/hands and I've had these for a week and they haven't budged. read more

Having recently moved from the Bay Area I was worried about finding a good nail salon. I yelped and found Special Nails and I'm so glad I did. The first couple times I went it was on a drop-in basis and I was helped within minutes. By the third time I made an appointment with Sophia for a fill w/gel polish and I met sweet Tammy who gave me a fantastic gel pedicure. Sophia is quick, precise, and great at her job. I just went and got my nails done at Special Nails and Spa and all I can say is WOW! Sophia did my nails and I've never been so shocked with the work that was done especially for the price! Would 10/10 recommend this salon plus the location is perfect, I've never been so satisfied with my nails and I've been getting them done for years! Defiantly my new salon ladies!! I came in as a walk-in and was really impressed with how quickly they were able to get me seated. The staff was super welcoming, and the overall service was great. I showed Tony a photo of the nail design I wanted, and he did an amazing job recreating it--so close to the picture! He was detailed, efficient, and made sure I liked everything as we went along. Over the past couple years they've really updated and refreshed the salon, and it's always so calm, clean, and welcoming inside. I was a customer with Charlene's Nails for a year. I always made my appointments with Toni because he was so amazing. When Charlene's closed I went to several other nail salons in Roseville. I just could not find a salon which felt like home. Until I finally came into Special Nails... and there was Toni!!! I had a pedicure and fill and absolutely loved my experience!!! This is my absolute nail place to go to. I've been here four times, and every single time I've been blown away by the quality of my nails. I would absolutely recommend anyone to go here. All of the nail techs are amazing, but I would recommend Anthony for nails, he did my most recent set (pictured) and went above and beyond my expectations. Tammy did a fabulous job with my pedicure. I am 5 months pregnant and my feet are starting to swell but she was able to massage all my swelling out in less than 45 minutes! It had been a few months since my last pedicure so I needed one really badly but she totally took care of me. I will absolutely be going back soon to get another foot massage by Tammy! read more

There was only one other customer in the salon so I was helped immediately. I sat in the pedicure chair and they asked if I wanted the manicure at the same time. I said that would be fine. From the moment they started, I felt rushed. The person working on my feet essentially just tapped my nails with the cuticle pusher. The cuticle wasn't touched let alone pushed. She did the same thing with the cuticle nippers. She just touched my nails, of course if you don't push the cuticle I guess there is not much to clip. She set an alarm when doing the "massage", which I had never seen before. I didn't mind because it keeps everyone honest on the duration of the "massage". I use quotes around "massage" because it felt more like someone just applying lotion. She was jerking my foot back and forth and nothing about it was relaxing. After she was done she left me at the chair to dry. I usually sit in the chair with the massage feature on while my toes dry. She came back to me about 5 minutes later (give or take), took the toe divider off my toes, put my shoes on, and lifted the arm rest for me to leave. Wow! I guess my time is up. I was not taking space for other customers. There were 4 other customers and they were being helped. There were several open chairs. From entering to exiting the store, I was maybe in there for 35 minutes. When I left I felt my nails looked ok, but not great. As I said before, I've been coming here for years and have never been treated this way. The last two times have been subpar and sadly I think I will look for a new salon. So disappointing.

I walked in for a pedicure and had such an unpleasant experience. The man was so rude and so rough with everything he did. I really had to check several times to see if I was bleeding. The scrub and massage was rough and painful and unpleasant. By the end of the pedicure it was clear he was done with me and wanted me to leave so he took my flip flops and made me walk barefoot (slippery and also gross because lotion was still on my feet) to the fan area to dry off, threw my shoes on the ground and left without a word. I sat there for 10 minutes before putting my own shoes on and checking out. The pressure to tip is intense, when I didn't want to leave anything. It wasn't until I got home that I realized how sloppy the paint job was. Paint everywhere on the skin and cuticles, uneven file, the worst job I've ever had. I got this particular pedicure because I just had hip surgery and can't do my own toes and instead I was doubled over fixing his job, exactly what I was trying to avoid. I will never go back here.
