We have purchased many vehicles in the past. Today, we visited Landmark dealership in Independence with the intention of purchasing a Jeep Wrangler. We spent considerable time on the lot examining the Jeeps, but no salesperson approached us to offer assistance. Eventually, I approached the showroom to seek help. Unfortunately, the experience was unexpectedly unprofessional and uncomfortable. Our assigned salesperson was Josiah, and regrettably, this was the most disappointing sales experience we have encountered, car or other. Josiah seemed to make fun of us and used sarcasm and rudeness to make his points. All we asked for was the interest rate of the vehicle in which we were interested. He would not give us that but insisted that we drive the vehicle which we did not want to do as we already own a Wrangler and just wanted the interest rate information. We felt very disrespected and uncomfortable and even unsafe due to Josiah's confrontational attitude. Ultimately we chose to leave the dealership. Another important detail to our interaction with Josiah was when I told Josiah my wife had changed her mind from a four door to a two door, he replied, "Yes, women do that." So unprofessional and sexist. Additionally, we were asked to move our vehicle, which we had parked while looking at the inventory. During this interaction, Josiah was accompanied by two other staff members (as if he needed muscle backup when all we wanted to do was purchase a car) and engaged with us in a manner that we found extremely disrespectful and dismissive. This was a TERRIBLE experience. Manager is rude and unprofessional. He does not take responsibility for anything and is constantly deferring blame. We were constantly belittled and talked down to. Chris Johnson was our salesman and he was good during the sales process, but he made several comments and promises that he couldn't keep. Regardless, he seemed honest and kind. The manager talked down to and reprimanded Chris in front of us multiple times, even snapping his fingers at him and raising his voice. A couple of months ago, my grandmother traded in her van for a different one and we were told that the detailing could not be finished and that we would need to take it home and come back another day. We live 1.5 hrs away. We were at the dealership that day from 10:00 am to 4:15 pm. We were told that when we come back to finish the detailing, we would be given a rental car to run our errands while we wait. We were then told that that is impossible and were made to sit in the dealership from 9am well into the afternoon. No one tended to us the entire time we were there or gave us updates. When we asked for updates, we were told it was almost done. We were told the same 2 hours later. When we finally received the van, it appeared to have been sprayed down, but not thoroughly cleaned. There was visible dust and dirt in several areas of the vehicle, as well as water staining on the windows. We have reached out to try to communicate with the dealership and all efforts have been completely ignored. read more

If I could, I would leave less than 1 star for this dealership. I wish I had checked the Yelp reviews before making an appointment to see a 2019 Toyota Corolla they claimed to have in stock. When I got there, it was already sold. This was fine, since I hadn't reserved it or anything, so decided to look at what else was on offer. I told them what I was looking for and what my budget was, but the salesperson and the manager would not respect my budget limit and repeately and insistently tried to upsell me by $5000, even after I reiterated that I would not go above a certain sticker price, and I know that they advertise many cars within my price range on their site. The manager was dressed like Danny DeVito's character in Matilda (a shyster car dealer himself) and tried multiple tactics to upsell me. After a few minutes of this, I thanked them for their time and hightailed it out of there. In hindsight I wonder if the Toyota they were advertising was ever even in stock. Made me an offer without addressing it AND completely disregarded the budget needs that I had previously mentioned, DOUBLED monthly payment and down payment. Not only that, they offered me a fraction trade in for what my car was worth, I ended up getting more than double what they offered. I was uncomfortable from the beginning. I brought them breakfast one morning in hopes that they would fix my stuff properly because my insurance company had already payed them, it did not work. I wouldn't trust them to check my oil let alone any other issue. They must inspect vehicles in the dark with the lights off. And their receipt doesn't match what my insurance payed them. So i cant remember the last time I wrote a negative review but Landmark earned it. Just know this.. the advertised price is not the price. "Discounts and rebates" are included which you most likely will only be able to take advantage of a few of them. Thus the price goes up. If they give you peanuts for your trade in and you choose to put cash down instead the price goes up as that was one of the "rebates" that you are now not qualified for. You will need to add a "envionmental protection plan" cost to the price of the car. Sounds like something the government requires and they have their hands tied right? LOL! no its an interior and underbody coating they say they have to charge for. The price of this changes constantly also depending on who you talk to $1,200 to $2,150.00. After repair service, they sent me home with a dead battery. Stopped by the store on way home and my son had to come and give me a jump. They also sent me home with 22 psi in the front right tire. This is the one they got paid to patch. They didn't. A week later, my negative battery wire slipped off the battery terminal as I was driving around. They failed to secure it to the battery after troubleshooting my problem. There's a list of other petty things I don't have space for. It's hard to believe a dealership would behave like this. Not pleased with #LandmarkDodgeChryslerJeep They've drug their feet on everything and they promised to get the rail dust off of my Jeep and I took it in today and got it back and it still has rail dust and the inside of my car smells horrible. It's almost been a month and I still don't have my title paperwork. They put me in a loaner while they had my car and I had to put gas in the loaner because it was empty! I paid this place $500 to remove the rail dust, put paint sealer or treatment on it and treat my leather. That was the worst $500 I've ever spent. I signed the proposal sheet agreeing to the terms, and put down a 100$ deposit. The sales manager then came to me after I filled out my credit app and told me they would not honor the trade in price they quoted me. Keep in mind I had already signed the agreement that I would purchase based on their offer. Oil light came on the dash. P06DD code indicating oil pressure issue.. Took to Landmark for diagnosis, after 3 full days of having the vehicle, they finally said the Oil Pump needed replaced. Even though the price was high(almost $1800), I gave the ok to repair... A couple of days after picking up my vehicle, the light came on again, so i took it back to Landmark... This time they had it for a week. Finally they called and told me the engine was failing, and I would need a new Engine. They said they could give me a deal to replace with a new engine for approx. $9500.... No thanks, I picked up my vehicle and took it to a neighborhood mechanic and within 2 hours he diagnosed the issue:: ((the Oil Filter Housing needed replaced))...He did the repair in 3 hours for under $700 and it has run fine ever since.....I was told a week later, by a family friend, that they also had a very similar experience with Landmark.....I WILL NOT DO BUSINESS AGAIN WITH LANDMARK DODGE. read more

My story: I am going through a nasty divorce & had to trade in two vehicles because my ex-husband forced me to take"his" truck instead of getting it in his name. I needed a used car that I could roll negative equity into so I was taken to see a 2017 VW Jetta. Seemed nice. I told them I had to wait to sign until I could cash out $2,000 from my 401k for the down payment. While I had the car (before I signed) I notified them 1)the drivers heated seat didn't work. 2) a replace key battery error message had appeared on my dash 3) the bright lights were turning off & on on their own and flashing sporadically. The sales man seemed new so the used sales manager was involved in my several meetings & conversations. They said and I quote "no big deal, just call service & we'll get it taken care of for you. " During initial visit & prior to signing papers, I expressed I really wanted the windows tinted. Again, "not a problem at all". They gave me a key battery. I signed papers end of November and was surprised AT THE TABLE to find out 1) tint would not be included & tint couldn't be financed 2) I had to bring $3,000 down instead of $2,000. My salesman literally told me before signing they had it worked out for me to put down $2,000 as agreed from the beginning & the amount that took out of my 401k. I SHOULD HAVE WALKED but felt trapped. I couldn't afford the two vehicles upcoming payment & they had already had my vehicles for weeks by this time. I literally cried at the table & left upset. Looking back, funny you sign an IOU at the table for funds to close but I asked during my signing about the issues with the car & once again was reassured, you'll make an appointment with service & they'll take care of it for you. AFTER SIGNING, call service for appointment for 1)broken heated seat 2) flashing bright lights 3) key completely quit working (by this point it had had 2 new key batteries). Speak with the rudest man possible who told me they didn't work on Volkswagons & that my issues weren't covered unless I purchased an extended warranty. I immediately contacted some higher ups to ensure I finally got some customer service. This time, Chad (GM?) was great!I brought my car up, they sent it to VW. My only compliant (this time) my car was gone for at least 3 weeks. I was told the guy working with me quit so my car had been ready for pick up for a week but no one had called. But at least they were nice they fixed heated seat and "fixed" key (wrong they put a third new key battery in) Shortly there after, key quit working again. This is my first push button start car & let me tell you, this a REAL BIG PAIN IN THE REAR! Send back to dealership to send to VW. Wait a few weeks. Needed a new key. I drove off the lot with a faulty key that made me lose my car for 4+ weeks in the shop after two visits and this time they made me pay $100 of my $200 deductible for the warranty. This time Chad agreed to split the deductible. This didn't make me happy & service knew it. I was told "We sell cars & things go wrong with them". Here I am now in MAY and... The bright lights are still coming off and on and flickering on their own. HOW DID THIS PASS INSPECTION? Do you know how embarrassing & rude this is? I have to send my car back again for a THIRD time to fix another issue from when I drove the car off the lot. I'm sure this time they will make me pay $200 to get my car back. I HAVEN'T EVEN MADE IT TO THE FIRST OIL CHANGE. I dread dealing with service so much that I tried dealing with VW directly but if I don't go through dealership, I pay for it.
