The location appears to have additional seating outside overlooking the water but it was too cold to be outside. The location appeared to be upscale with a rustic look. Right in the heart of downtown Sandusky. The lake view tables are all high chair seating. The outdoor seating is probably lovely in warmer weather & it goes around two sides of the building. The service was exceptional. Our meals came out quickly. On a prior visit, I had the Fall Harvest Salad which was fantastic. Today our table shared the Stuffed Avocado & it was delicious. We also had the Brussels Almondine which was more than enough for 3 people & brought some home. But I thought it was just ok & not something I would order again. Mom had the Chef Salad - massive & took half home. The Classic cheeseburger was fine & cooked to a perfect medium. The French Onion soup was burnt on top & so salty that I couldn't eat it. Was in Sandusky for a trip and made a reservation at Landmark based on the good reviews and it did not disappoint. The place is large and hosts a great view of the water. There is tons of seating and the service was speedy and friendly. Our waitress was awesome and gave great recommendations to myself and friends. The mnu is fairly large and I appreciated that they offered a wide variety of menu items that included "fancier" type entrees like the pasta, chicken, and fish options as well as handheld options like wraps and burgers as well as salads. There is definitely something for everyone as well as lots of shareables and sides to choose from. All the food was absolutely delish with the brussell sprouts being a fan favorite. They were even able to split the tuscan chicken entree onto two plates equally which was so awesome and avoided any mess of sharing across plates. All the drinks were also fabulous and offered a great variety to choose from. Everything had great flavor and was cooked very well. This place is gorgeous, and the prices are good for the high quality and portion sizes. Definitely stop in if you are in Sandusky and need a place to get some good food. Totally recommended. This was the only place opened on Sunday so we squeezed in right before they closed the kitchen on our way back from cedar point. Their seafood pasta was a total winner, and their fillet mignon was excellent too. They have a full bar with mixed drinks but I went with a glass of wine, good wine selection. We sat at the bar and service was excellent, our bartender was super nice. They have a lively atmosphere with TVs playing sports at the bar and lots of conversations going around on the tables. read more

Went to the Landmark in downtown Sandusky earlier for my anniversary dinner around 5:30 and ordered between 5:45-6pm. My wife and I both ordered the New York strip which came with potatoes and green beans. After waiting roughly an hour for our food it came to the table cold. Potatoes were cold and soggy and the green beans were also cold severely undercooked. finally one steak was over cooked and the other was undercooked but they both came out cold. Server was accommodating and offered to have it remade or a dessert on the house but after the long wait and underwhelming meal we were served we decided to leave disappointed. read more

We had a work dinner here. The appetizers were great. The server was very kind and efficient with a large group. I had the pork chops, they were really good. Food was really good! It's the smell that hits you when you walk through the door! Stinky stale water smell! Then my arms stuck to the table because the table was so sticky. Went to landmark during lunch time. The service was very fast and there was plenty of seating at this time. The waitress was super helpful with all her recommendations. We tried the gumbo which was absolutely delicious. I wish I had ordered a whole bowl. The seafood wrap was probably my favorite dish. The Mahi was spiced perfectly. It was slightly spicy (which I love). We also ordered the Landmark special, I definitely recommend getting the fish blackened. It adds a lot more flavor. It was not that spicy either if you don't like spice. The burger was okay. Overall, this place was really good. They have homemade desserts & soups daily. Found this place downtown Sandusky by the water front. Parking was alright at the time we went but could get pretty busy as it doesn't have its own lot. Walking in it had a bar restaurant feel. I officially made Landmark Kitchen my go-to for client lunches during summer months, last year. The lakeside setting hits that sweet spot between being professional enough without being stuffy, and that water view beats anything indoors, on a Thursday... Their seafood is consistently excellent. The gumbo has become my regular order - rich without being heavy, perfect for midday meetings. My clients often go for the seafood wrap, which (I advise) never disappoints, for a good price too. The Mahi deserves mention too - seasoned with just enough kick to be interesting without overwhelming. For important meetings, I'll suggest the shrimp and scallop trio. Yes, it's pricier, but those perfectly seared scallops and the red potatoes with mushrooms make an impression. Worth the investment when you need to impress. What really works for business is how the staff handles service. They get the rhythm of a meeting - keeping drinks filled and food coming without hovering or interrupting flow. They've saved me, socially. Ha. The lunch crowd tends to be other professionals, so if it's busy there's enough ambient noise for privacy without shouting. Their prime rib special after 5 is an excellent reason to let a productive meeting extend into dinner. Which I have done, but not frequently;y enough. One of the absolute worst customer-service experiences I've had! We've been here before for breakfast (we visit Sandusky once a year), but not for dinner. Do not recommend. Arrived at 7:45pm and didn't have a reservation so we put our name on the list. Was told we'd have a 45-minute wait. They took our cell phone. After 45 minutes we asked how much longer. It was now close to 8:40 PM. They told us not much longer. The hostess left her stand multiple times for long periods of time. During which multiple couples and families came, waited, and then left. Around 9pm (still waiting for our table), a couple came in and was left waiting. We could see the hostess at the other end of the bar looking over and laughing with co-workers. It was at this point we decided we were NOT leaving. It was clear they were hoping we'd leave like everyone else. She waited until 9:05 and came and told the couple there were no seats, even though there were available seats in the room that was visible. They left rather upset. She then told us it shouldn't be much longer and left the stand. Finally, at 9:10 we were seated. We waited another 10 minutes before anyone came to the table. We finally got our food around 9:45. Our waitress came by 3 times total the entire time. When the food came, they messed up my son's dinner and we had another waitress take it back. One of my daughter's steak was way overcooked. But the breaking point came when my other daughter found a hair in her dinner. Rather than chasing down the waitress, we just waited. My daughter's appetite was gone as was mine. When she finally came over to see if we were ready for the check (I'm not exaggerating when I said she came over 3 times), my husband pointed out the hair. She apologized and took the plate from my husband. She asked if she wanted another one. My daughter declined of course. She then brought back the check. No discount. No removal of my daughter's dinner. No free dessert. Nothing. We'd just had the best day as a family at Cedar Point and was not about to let this experience change our moods, so we just left and I promised I would post this so others would know - I do NOT recommend going to the Landmark after 8pm. It's really unfortunate as our breakfast experiences have been great. read more

Water views, scratch made dishes, fresh seafood and a spectacular bar, not to mention excellent wait staff. I loved the renovated brick building mixed with soft lights and exposed ceilings. It was a pleasant surprise to find the Landmark while passing through downtown Sandusky. I ordered the seafood papperdale and it was amazing, the right amount of brine and broth with fresh shrimp and scallops. Oh and the cheesecake was to die for, not a heavy crust, it was perfect. Oh and the wine, the Pinot noir is smooth and a perfect way to finish the meal. read more

Stopped in while spending the weekend in the area. The service was good our waitress was very helpful and understanding. The food wasn't the greatest, two of the people in my party didn't like the taste of the food the received. My wife got the chicken Alfredo pasta and she said it was very bland. Our waitress did take that of meal off the bill after sending back the meal to the kitchen which made no noticeable difference in the taste. Always love coming back home and getting Lake Erie fresh Perch. The Landmark is in the newly renovated downtown area. Sandusky is beginning to look great, when I lived downtown and would walk around it was a ghost town. Nowadays, it's full of life, new businesses, and people enjoying nice weather, restaurants, and the lake front. To start, when you walk in Landmark you feel the ambience and it feels good. I brought my mom on a date and she could immediately feel the same ambience of the Landmark as well the new downtown. The food was good, we both ordered the Perch with fries. It came out on a soft, toasted bun with all the fixings. The taste of the perch was fresh and it was fried perfectly. My only drawback was that it was a bit smaller than what I'm used to, but it was still a filling, light lunch. Overall, I'd rate Landmark a 4/5 and would love to return to try more of the menu. read more

We are visiting Sandusky on a short vacation. We tried Landmark on our first night here and so glad we did. They have a nice deck with several tables where you have a great view of the lake. We chose to eat inside because rain was coming soon. Our waitress, Katelyn, was awesome. So friendly and made great recommendations. She checked on us often and made sure everything was great and we were taken care of. We had the Tuscan Chicken and local fried perch. They both came with salad, roasted potatoes, and green beans. The portions were generous. The perch was really tasty with plenty of tartar sauce. The vegetables were awesome as well. The chef stopped by to chat with us. He sold on his homemade key lime pie for dessert. It was amazing. Don't pass it up when you go. I would highly recommend trying this place. I wanted to thank the staff at Landmark for treating us to a wonderful experience Sunday night after Cedar Point. We were about to give up and just do chain restaurants on Route 250, as we had checked several other restaurants downtown by this point. We were bummed about having to do chain food when we saw this subtly lit place just down Water Street. We were greeted warmly when we walked in and made to feel welcome for coming in. We loved the chic atmosphere, menu selections and wine choices. There were really so many creative dishes, burgers and wraps on the menu, it was hard to pick, so Angela went to our old standby, what does our server recommend, it never fails. The stuffed avacado appetizer was really unique and grilled lobster special was excellent, so sweet and tender, that our server recommended. We were so happy that our server was well versed in her menu and took excellent care of us even though it was after 9 pm on a Sunday.
