I wanted to thank the staff at Landmark for treating us to a wonderful experience Sunday night after Cedar Point. We were about to give up and just do chain restaurants on Route 250, as we had checked several other restaurants downtown by this point. We were bummed about having to do chain food when we saw this subtly lit place just down Water Street. We were greeted warmly when we walked in and made to feel welcome for coming in. We loved the chic atmosphere, menu selections and wine choices. There were really so many creative dishes, burgers and wraps on the menu, it was hard to pick, so Angela went to our old standby, what does our server recommend, it never fails. The stuffed avacado appetizer was really unique and grilled lobster special was excellent, so sweet and tender, that our server recommended. We were so happy that our server was well versed in her menu and took excellent care of us even though it was after 9 pm on a Sunday. I will definitely put this place on my Sandusky favorites to visit again. Thank you for making a great & belated birthday week fun day with my friend that much better! read more

I have severe food allergies so I asked for the chef just to clarify the food was okay. I'm not picky but he came Out with such an awful dimeanor and goes "the pans have butter so it would be pretty difficult to accommodate." One of the best restaurants in town!! Outdoor patio seating, great staff, house salad with walnuts and cranberries with blackened chicken tons of fresh greens. I was in heaven after traveling for so long without a nice green salad. read more

Terrible service. Made a reservation, took awhile to be seated, but in fairness it was a busy Saturday night. Got a lovely outside table. 2 different waitresses walked past our table for a total of ignoring us 5 times. No eye contact, no acknowledgement of our existence. We were about to leave when a waitress who.had passed us 3 times asked if anyone had helped us We said no, she said there had been a "communication" problem, but she would take us anyway. We ordered, I asked for a glass of water. Halfway through my meal, I went to the bar to ask fir it myself. Our waitress was behind the bar, I don't think she liked that I went to get the water myself. I was polite, non-confrontational, and frankly trying to be sympathetic. She didn't give me the water and told me she hadn't forgotten (I think she did) and that she would bring it. So I had to wait longer. Food was ok, good, but nothing spectacular. These seemingly little things are annoying and influence a dining experience. read more

I like this place. The atmosphere is nice but not fine dining, the service is nice and casual but the food was beyond nice. I had the Tuscan chicken. Wonderful. It was presented more like a fine dining establishment, the chicken with grated Parmesan cheese over fresh green beans and red potatoes all drizzled with a nice glaze. My dinner companions enjoyed their entrees as well as the wild mushroom appetizer and the fresh mussels. All for a reasonable price. I'll be back. read more

I was in town with my family and wanted to try this spot. Called in advance and asked to make a reservation. Was told that they don't take reservations on the weekend. Was disappointed but just planned to go in anyway. Called ahead to see approx how long the wait would be for our group and was told 30 minutes. When I went to check in, I walked up to the hostess and put my name in. She immediately began to ignore me, and looked at the group that walked in behind me. "We have a reservation" they said". "I thought you don't take reservations on weekends" I said. She didn't know what to say because she was obviously caught in a very poor customer service situation. She took the group behind me back to their table and then told me she would call when my table is ready. OVER AN HOUR LATER I got a call letting me know my table was ready. By then we had already made our way to Cameo pizza. Don't go to landmark.... just go to Cameo and get delicious pizza instead. Dishonesty is a major turnoff. read more

I don't get why no one has uploaded pictures of the food here. There are so many places in Sandusky that have photos and reviews on yelp. I'm happy to contribute for this restaurant. The food was very, very good. It's more than a bar, it's a lot classier. I feel like the name might deter the crowd that they are looking for. The price is a little higher here but the food definitely is worth the price. I ordered the salmon with balsamic tomatoes and it was delicious. I think all of the entrees come with the same sides, which are roasted potatoes and green beans. The guys I was with both ordered soups and pork chops which both looked good. I didn't get any pictures of their dishes so if that's your thing, you'll have to give it a try - you won't be disappointed. We didn't order any alcohol but it looked like they had quite a selection. The service was a little lacking but we did sit on the high tops in the bar area to was the games on the TV. Our waitress was kind of rude in the beginning but she warmed up; seemed like she was definitely having a bad day. We weren't offered any dessert but apparently they have good cheesecake. I'd definitely recommend this place, especially for a date night. Very classy read more

Randomly found this place as we entered the downtown because we wanted to eat near the water. Service was amazing and quite possibly the best fried perch and blackened Mahi we've ever had! Great place to grab a really good sandwich at a reasonable price. Nice atmosphere, and a view if you care to sit outside. My gripe: the entree prices are CRAZY! Stopped on a Saturday night, was hoping for more than a sandwich, but after looking at the entree prices I passed. Here's the thing - maybe the food would have been great. But I'm sitting in pretty much a bar, getting served by someone wearing a t-shirt, so I'm not paying $25 for an entree at this joint. For that kind of price, I need a bit more atmosphere, much better service and a lot less rowdiness. There's a lot of other choices in the area for a more premium experience at that price. But, I'll be back for the $10 burger and fries (which I'd give 4 1/2 stars!). Oh, and the stuffed avocado was great (but please serve with more chips!). read more

I've been here three times in the past year and it's becoming status quo of Sandusky restaurants. They all start out fantastic and slowly become mediocre at best. Landmark is no exception. I firmly believe that complaining about your meal while at the table is leading to detrimental occurrences in your replacement. Of course I could have requested a new burger but I'm certain the next one would have been just as abysmal: dry and bland. Mind you, I ordered the black and bleu which is exactly as described. Cajun seasoning and bleu cheese. There are no other toppings to it. Basically, it's a mediocre beef patty with the mentioned ingredients. I can make this at home with the same ingredients for a third of the price and have it not be bland nor dry. Had the specials been more appealing, I'd have opted for one of those. We're seriously contemplating just giving away the rest of our gift cards. It's quite embarrassing what the place has become. read more

Tried this new place today. Food was good and the service pleasant. Burger and fries were both very good. My only complaint is that our server did not mention the specials or soup of the day. We only found out about them when we heard another server tell an adjacent table about them, after we had ordered. Wow! Was there twice in late June. Had the Watermelon Salad with Grilled Salmon on top for lunch. Greens were crisp and cold. Really good! Nice blend of flavors in salad ingredients. Ordered one of their signature burgers the second time, the one with Swiss cheese, mushrooms, grilled onions and bacon. Also really good. My two friends also ordered burgers that night, and they said theirs were also tasty. Service was good, too, and the young waitress was very friendly and answered our questions about other menu items for future visits. I will definitely go back and I have recommended it to my friends! I took my team here for lunch today. They had a special menu which was for two people, so some of the team went together on the special. The menu said "choose two appetizers" and "choose two entrees." When the appetizers came, the waitress only brought one for both people to share (even though they had ordered different items and the menu stated two). She didn't apologize or anything, she just said "this is how they come." I mentioned that the menu specifically said "choose two appetizers" for the special. She just shrugged. It took along time to get our food and after 45 minutes I asked the waitress (Erin) if it was going to be ready soon because we needed to get back to the office. She said "yeah, it's busy today." She was annoyed that I asked and didn't seem rushed or anything. She slammed a glass of water down on the table when getting a refill. We eventually just asked for the food to be boxed up so we could get back to work, we were there for over an hour and didn't even get to eat! We paid while waiting for the food. When the food was delivered, it wasn't the correct food. The wrong burger was ordered, and when we asked Erin for the right food she was rude and not very helpful. We ended up having to rush back to the office and were late due to the whole mess. Food was good, but service was slow and rude. Will not be returning. read more
