The seats were way too close together, and the person next to us had belongings spread into the shared space, making it very difficult to get in and out of our seats comfortably. We politely explained the issue to the manager and asked if we could either move to different seats -- even less expensive ones -- or receive some type of accommodation such as passes for another movie. Unfortunately, the manager refused to help in any way and would not issue a refund, exchange, or even offer courtesy tickets. For a theater that markets itself as a luxury experience and charges premium prices, I expected much better customer service. Other theaters like AMC are usually much more understanding and willing to work with customers when issues arise. Instead, we left feeling frustrated after paying for a movie we never got to watch. Some of that time was wasted by the ads. UA was purchased by Regal, so this movie theater is part of the Regal movie theater chain specifically located in La Cañada Flintridge. There are a few other shops located in this strip mall, but the one I remember is North Shore Burgers. There is plenty of parking at this location and the traffic flow is one way as you enter the strip mall. We watched The Odyssey during matinee hours, so it wasn't that crowded, but I got the feel that this wasn't a busy movie theater. The staff here provided quality customer service and were friendly. I had ordered tickets the day before, but mistakenly purchased tickets for the wrong day. I left a message to request a refund and when I tried to call a second time, a manager answered while I was leaving a message and she promptly refunded my money providing quality service like her staff. Regal UA La Canada gives off an old school vibe. The movie theater definitely needs some modernizing with regards to their leather recliner chairs and the layout of their seats, but I actually liked the old school vibe. When your order popcorn, the staff asks if you want butter and they're the ones placing butter into your popcorn. I prefer self service, but they did a good job buttering my popcorn. Screen resolution is great - even on a Smokey Fire day at 4:30pm the LED jumbo screen is clear - only a few night dark scenes fade out a little during the daytime but not a big thing. Everything else looks fantastic on the large screen even during the daytime. Sound is through two stations on your car stereo or you can also stream through your phone if needed from their website. They even do movie previews for about 15mins. All the covid precautions are put in place and well managed. As soon as she radioed it in, it showed up in about two minutes (I guess it really wasn't that hard to make). What really bothered me was that there wasn't even an apology from the manager--just excuse after excuse. If it really takes almost two hours to get an ICEE because no one is available to bring it out, then maybe you shouldn't be charging a mandatory 18% service fee. What exactly was the service I was paying for? We had to ask multiple times, I had to leave the movie to find a manager, and I brought the drink inside myself. What a joke.

On separate occasions I've ordered popcorn, burgers, nachos, fries, pretzels- I basically tried to work my way through the menu. It's hit-or-miss. 80% of the time the cheese has crust on it like the food has been sitting under the warming lamp for a while. Other times the food is entirely cold *shrugs*. More than once (one time too many) my order was never delivered to my seat at all. Thankfully, the staff was able to refund me after the movie in those instances where my food was forgotten. A self-contained event, you were allowed to bring your own chairs, food, etc.. Extremely pet-friendly with water bowls and treats placed throughout the venue, they tied themselves to the non-profit organization Best Friends Animal Society Los Angeles and No Kill Los Angeles (NKLA) to help with pet adoption. Would this nostalgic return and revamped idea of the drive-in movie pull at my sentimental strings to return for more!?: General Admission Ticket/Seat ($14.00 + fees) - Purchased online (priced higher at the door the day of the event), this was open seating, so first come-first served. Armed with a low chair (ABSOLUTELY NO TALL CHAIRS), blanket, cushion, and pillow to sit on just in case, I happily claimed a spot center screen slightly away from the crowd on the concrete road https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Lxb9OOL4HaDWK3rIBs1Uaw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. I was reluctant at first since the majority of the venue is concrete/pavement. However, my wife and I got there really early and got a really nice, shaded grassy spot. We relaxed, ate, drank and chilled until the movie started. Come early if you want to lay on a grassy area. If not, depending on the time of year it might be too sunny to come early.
