A month later, I still get the run around of their losing one of my pants. Why am I writing this…read morereview , it isn't so much because of the lost pants, it is how they are handling it. I have been back 5 times and I just get the run-around. A month ago I dropped 3 pants of, I was returned 2 that were mine, and a larger/different color one. I stated - this large grey one is not mine. I gave my name and phone number, I've been back 5 times. What have I been told by the same female employ, you the reader pick which one you find most unacceptable: 1) well we can fix the wrong one to fit you (so, um, wonder about the original owner of those pants?) 2) leave me your other two pants and we will look for the missing one (the only thing the missing pants have in common with my other two is they are black, not same brand 3) when I went to get my two pants back, they were reluctantly returned to me 4) one week I'm told, come back on Thursday, the owner can decide what to do. I come on a Thursday the owner is not there 5) I come back the following week, "I have to tell the owner about your missing pants." (so owner hasn't been told) 6) I asked - why don't you launder my next order of pants for free as compensation - I got silence, no reply. 7) I asked - how do you guys handle this? Silence, no answer.

I needed the pants taken in at the hips but the seams came out bumpy and noticeably mismatched on each side. Was going to throw them away and start over but decided to see if they could be saved as there was still room to take in. I had very little faith that this plan would work but gave it a go. The ladies here at the Cameron Station Cleaners/alterations repaired them and it was less than it cost at the Pentagon. Just in awe and relieved! Really wish I had taken a before picture to highlight what they fixed but they look like a normal pair of pants now.

I always feel a little nervous using somewhere new, but I instantly trusted both the person I spoke to on the phone and the woman who worked there. I usually use one near my work but really needed another to use near my house. I cannot express enough how incredible they are. Nearly 70 lbs of laundry washed, dried, organized, and folded appropriately and perfectly in one day. Though I did not end up using the service, the employee in there was kind and patient as I was trying to figure if my capri pant needed hemming. She talked me through it and stated she liked the way the pants fit. She could've told me to hem them and make the money, but she instead gave me her opinion and stated she thought they were fine. The initial service was impeccable, which is why I decided to return. I'm giving two stars out of grace for that first visit. Unfortunately, my second experience with the exact same item was disappointing. When I picked up my comforter, I noticed small specks of lint scattered across it. I brought this to the manager's attention, and while she insisted she personally handled my item and attempted to remove the lint, that explanation didn't align with the final result. If the issue couldn't be resolved, I should have been notified before leaving--not after I had to point it out myself. I did receive a refund, which I appreciate, but I genuinely wanted this to work. It seemed like the manager had already made up her mind that nothing further could be done, and there was no real effort to try to resolve the issue. At that point, I simply asked for my item back so I could take it somewhere that handles items with more care and attention to detail. It honestly made me question whether my comforter was mixed in with others during the process, especially since I take great care in maintaining it, including regularly steam disinfecting it at home. What was also frustrating was that instead of focusing on my concern, the manager began explaining how other customers' items can come in, as if I was expected to sympathize. My only concern was the condition of my item. Based on this experience, I would recommend keeping it simple here--stick to everyday dry cleaning. I would not suggest bringing larger bedding items like comforters or duvet covers, as the quality and attention to detail may not be consistent.

There were still several subtle stains on the dress and bow, which they said they would call to talk about if they couldn't get out. They never called and still made me pay $130. To be fair, there were sections of the dress that we practically black from being dragged on the floor all night. Additionally they somehow ripped apart the bow that went on the rear of the dress--it's a mess now and droops down. It was a high quality material that sat up right before they cleaned it. Maybe it was caused by the way they handle garments in the shop? When I was picking up and dropping off they were throwing clothes on the ground and throwing them around pretty roughly.

I would not recommend Capital Cleaners for alterations…read more I dropped off a set of curtains for what should have been a straightforward alteration. At drop-off, the employee inspected the curtains, counted the panels, and provided me with a ticket showing a final price of $260. When I returned to pick them up, I was presented with a new ticket showing a different price and was told I owed an additional $100 due to a mistake they made when originally calculating the cost. Fortunately, I kept my original ticket, but I should not have been expected to pay for an error that occurred on their end. To make matters worse, I specifically instructed the employee to save the excess fabric from the alterations. When I picked up the curtains, I learned that the fabric had been discarded despite my request. The alterations themselves may have been completed, but the pricing inconsistency and failure to follow clear instructions left me very disappointed. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this business.
