This was my second time using Tommy Todd Landscaping. The first experience was great, plenty of…read morefollow up and no real issues. However, the second time I am not happy at all. You be the judge, am I justified in my dissatisfaction or am I being unreasonable as Mr. Todd seems to be suggesting. Between the two separate jobs, I have spent well into 5 figures. I have never had any follow up the second time even when I just said forget about everything except a replacement azalea. It has now been over 3 months since the job was completed and unfortunately, I am probably going to have to hire a different company to replace the sod in a portion of the front yard. It is obvious now that the some of the sod was either diseased or of a different variety. On September 9 I texted the following to the project manager Hi Justin. Should I still be watering every day? Some of the travertine is moving when I walk on it. Also, I mentioned to one of the guys that there is one spot by the back gate where the sprinkler doesn't reach. He replied Can you send me a picture of that area? I sent a picture showing the uneven travertine No response Next day I sent this I got this on my front door (notice from city of water meter inaccessible). The water meter is covered with sod. Short of digging up my front yard, how can we locate the meter? Plus, this is costing me $53 for a re-inspection. They did come out and uncover the meter but that was the only issue addresses so on Oct 2 I sent just to owner since I received no follow up to my prior texts: Good morning, Tommy. I have a few unresolved issues and I am hoping you could come by sometime to take a look. I have been in contact with Justin and he partially took care of one issue. When the sod was put down they covered the water meter. He did get someone out to uncover the meter but it doesn't look very professional. Also I told him I was fined $53 which I paid. The other two items were ignored. The travertine that was put down is loose and uneven. He asked me to send pictures which I did and he never responded. The third issue is sprinkler coverage which was not addressed either. After spending over $xx,xxx for two jobs I would expect better follow through. Owner replied same day: Ron I will deal with this and get your concerns rectified. Unfortunately my home was totally destroyed on the first floor with this Hurricane and we lost almost everything. I am taking a break from the recovery and will be in my office today and discuss your issues. Sorry for the lack of communication but Justin and my son Michael are the only ones in the office running the business. Thanks, Tommy I replied: I'm sorry about your home. Of course that comes first for you. I sent on Oct 15 to owner and project manager: Here are some more concerns I have. Are these plants healthy (I included pictures)? They have dropped a lot of leaves and they look like there might be a fungus. This was before Milton. Half dead azalea (I included picture)? It is hard to see in a picture but some of the sod looks different from the rest. No follow up from owner or project manager since Oct 2 so on Oct 23 (3 weeks elapsed) I sent this: I am guessing your lack of any response to my concerns/texts means you don't care about the customer once you are paid. Owner immediately replied with this: That is BS! My house was destroyed and not habitable from Hurricane Helene! I don't appreciate your attitude in this trying time! I will check out your lawn when I come up for air. Our office also suffered roof damage on our warehouse and office building. Best regards! I replied with this: I am very sorry about your house as I previously stated. Can you not understand my frustration too? All I wanted to know is at some point my concerns will be addressed. If they are not valid once they have been looked at, I can accept that. A simple follow up text from you or Justin stating you haven't forgotten about me would have made all the difference to me. I'm afraid this business relationship has become adversarial so let's just call it over. The only thing I ask is if someone from your crew could drop off a replacement azalea. Or at the very least let me know the variety of azalea and where I could get a replacement. If the travertine pavers continue to move and settle I'll get someone else out here to repair them. Nothing good is going to come out of this with your anger towards me. There has been no further communication from the company. Despite the plants being warrantied for 90 days I never got a replacement azalea even though they were doing another job 2 blocks from my house.

Tommy Todd Landscape Design. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME. We…read morepaid him $1,000 for a personalized landscape design. He even provided us with a questionnaire. After waiting months for the 'personalized' design, I was handed GARBAGE. I firmly believe that he took old previous designs and put it over my plot. Here's why I say this: Designed Questionnaire (DQ) versus Resulting Plan (RP) DQ: I specified that "I only like Foxtail and Christmas Palms" RP: SEVEN Areca Palms and six Foxtails. I hate Areca palms. Hello? Is anyone listening or reading? DQ: Are there any functional requirements of your new landscaping? We specified SHADE such as pergola or even shade/sun sails. Also, stepping-stones from patio to shed, clothesline and vegetable garden area. RP: They drew a 'future pergola" and pea gravel to walk on to the areas listed above. Pea gravel? Seriously? Once again, anyone listening? DQ: Are there any specific plants or flowers that you would like to avoid: BUSHES. I don't like hedges. I hate weeding. No maintenance - to that end we want artificial grass. I don't need irrigation system. RP: They wanted to put in sod, never mind we said Artificial and, of course, we needed $7,000+ in irrigation. There was also an excess of ONE HUNDRED (100) BUSHES, GRASSES, ETC. DQ: What colors would you like to avoid in landscape? Orange, yellow, red. I noted I have several beautiful plumeria plants that I would like to incorporate in the design. RP: Not one plumeria made it into the first design. Of course, they included bushes, grasses with orange, yell, red, etc. When we complained the design plan was nothing like we envisioned and requested a phone conference with Tommy and Justin (designer). We were shot down. We were told, they "We can revise small tweaks for clients after the initial design and 1st revision, but not complete redesigns. Also, some of the new requests are unorthodox, disorganized, and not aesthetically pleasing in our professional point of view. We adhere to concepts and methodologies we know will look good and function well over time." EXCUSE ME - I AM THE CUSTOMER. I am paying the bill, shouldn't it be what I want? They further stated, "Our initial consultation starts the process of gathering information for a design. We take pictures, dictate voice notes, and ask our clients to be specific about what they like and don't like." LIE! IF they had done so, then I would have cut them a check for the $55,000 they wanted. MY DESIRES WERE NOT PART OF THEIR "scope of design'. NEWS FLASH, you don't have to love, just design it the way I want, build it and take your check. PERIOD. Oh, here's the best part, Tommy Todd told me not to worry about maintenance, he will take me on as a client for only $300 per month. WOW, I am so flattered.
