Tim Murray is, by far, genuinely vested and cares about your trees and you! He spent a great deal of time explaining the "whys" and "why not" of trimming ones tree correctly. After a lengthy visit assessing my property and it's 11 oaks, he provided me with an "on the spot" written and detailed proposal via a computer in his truck "office!" He was not at all "hard sell" yet taught me so very much even had I chosen another tree company. Scheduled an appointment for an estimate and Tim never showed up. He didn't call or convey any problem regarding making it to our house or need to reschedule. We waited for over an hour, tried calling him and no one called us back. We contacted this company based on their good reviews, but this lack of professionalism doesn't give us much confidence in their service so we will use another company. read more

I have used Murray's tree Services twice since purchasing my current home. The first time was for the complete removal of a Brazilian Pepper tree that stood directly in the way of a new fence, so it was important that it not grow back. The stump showed signs of two previous attempts kill this beast, but it met its end when Murray's Tree Services took on the job. The second time was a few weeks ago when I had limbs trimmed from an overgrown Laurel Oak that threatened to damage my roof in a serious storm. The tree is on my neighbor's lot, so it was important that the job be done without damaging the tree. In both cases, Murray's Tree Service arrived spot-on-time, worked cautiously, finished quickly, cleaned up after themselves, and got final approval from me before leaving the job. He did come out and gave a good price for the trees, " The written estimate will be in your email he said, we waited, and waited called no less the 7 times. After we reached him by phone again no estimate, Told us he would be there Monday, TODAY IS THURSDAY AND NO SIGHT OR SOUND FROM him, I GUESS HE ONLY WANTS $$$$$ BIG JOB MONEY JOBS I will NOT chase you to pay you to do a job you said you would do. Don't expect any more work in Gulfport and your ears should be ringing as I will be talking about this for a while, ALSO I own 6 rental proprieties that I needed work for guess I dodged a bullet on that. read more

Called this guy for a tree removal -- texted this guy -- no return call. Do not try to call.

I had an agreed upon amount for a job to cut down my tree, stump grind the root and do some branch work on the side of my house in July. Tim is the owner and the person I spoke to. He was there most of the time including doing alot of the work. He was not there when the job was supposedly done. When the person in charge came to collect my check for $2,100.00 I paid him in full. The job did look completed. But later on I found a small piece of the stump near my front porch sticking up from the ground after I tripped over it. My stump was large and they used a large blade to grind the stump. I figured they probably couldn't get any closer to my porch with that large blade so they would have to use a smaller tool to get that last piece which was almost a foot long. It took close to 3 weeks for Tim to return my calls. Only when I used someone else's phone (so he would not have caller ID on my name) did he pick up...surprise! When I described my problem and asked if he could come by and look at it and see what he could do about it he told me that since "I had gotten such a good deal on the price" that he WOULD NOT come by and finish the job. When I asked him what I was supposed to do now he told me to " Get an axe" and do it yourself. It gets better. I sent a complaint of this problem to the BBB in Aug. Within 2 weeks of sending this to the BBB Tim, the owner and person I dealt with all along actually CAME TO MY HOUSE TO CONFRONT ME ABOUT THE COMPLAINT! Wow! This altercation too was sent to the BBB as an addition to the original problem. One last comment about this problem which I never included in my original complaint. While in the middle of the tree cutting job, Tim's crew went to my flag pole that is in the ground and could have been in the way of the work and took the top half of the pole ( which has 2 flags including the U.S. flag) and laid the U.S. flag ON THE GROUND. Any veterans or patriots should not be happy with that, Nor was I and I had to pick it up off the ground myself.
