Daytona Beach was our final stop on the GM Tailgate Tour, so after a long day our group got together and met here for our final dinner. Large place right on the beach, it has the beach bar vibes for sure. Our server was friendly, very good on recommendations, + she was very attentive to the tables needs. Never waited very long for those refills most of the time. (9 of us) Menu is pretty extensive, lots of seafood options, however since we were driving back home the next day I went for simple. The good was good, and came out hot. Had the Philly Cheesesteak and it was very good. Overall it was mostly positive, with very few complaints from our party. Only thing keeping this from a 5 star establishment was price point. Yes, I get it, place is right on the beach, and that vibe is part of the experience. Food was delish and our waitress was fantastic. She recommended the daily special and I'm glad we did! Never had swordfish before. We also got a free lime pie by taking the survey at our table. Service was slow because they were short staffed. She had a big group to serve as well as ours. We sat on the deck which has a beautiful view of the ocean and bar. We were failed to know that the $5 margaritas only applied if you sat at the bar. We ended up spending full price on margaritas - but thankfully they were strong and delicious. On a weekend road trip, I stopped by the famous Landshark Bar & Grill on the beach in Daytona. The place, of course, was hopping with live music playing outside. The waves were graciously singing along as the people enjoyed the vibe. The ambiance is vibrant whether you are sitting on the patios outside or in the open-aired inside with lots of seating and also a great bar. People and bartenders were so friendly. The first thing I experienced was someone buying shots for everyone around the bar, and we were all cheering to the holiday season. They do offer specials, like great burgers. Sitting at a table in the sand and being able to look at the ocean is almost always 5 stars. Server attentiveness was 4 stars. Food was 3 stars, but overall it's 4 star experience. There is a parking lot for patrons! So we decided an outside table with a view of the ocean was perfect for this afternoon. We ordered one of their specialty drinks and some food. The shrimp and crab salad over lettuce was an appetizer but there was plenty for a meal for me. It was very refreshing on a hot day. My SO ordered a basic hamburger that was two 1/4 lb burgers with all the fixings and home made chips. I was told the burger was very good. The chips are ok, but I am not into kettle or homemade chips. On the positive side, they were good and had the right amount of salt, not overdone. The server (Oceanna, I believe it was) was really personable. She told us she was expecting and how the heat and walking around was getting to her. She was still serving us with a friendly smile. She was wonderful when we had food and then helpful but not pushy when we sat by the fence. They have Adirondack chairs so we sat drinking our adult beverages and watched the ocean and beach goers. 3 stars simply for the food. Had the nachos and they were made just like the pictures. As far as everything else it really missed the mark and an emphasis on bad service. Closed at 10 and my family arrived at 9:10 for a quick bite. The greeter was immediately acting extremely annoyed although her and the other inside servers were just sitting at a table chatting when we arrived. She sat us and our server didn't seem happy to be working either. There was sighing from all except the women in pink that brought out our food and that was the only smile or good attitude we encountered while at the establishment. It was my last night in Daytona Beach for our family vacation and it also happened to be a kid-free night! So, we headed down to the beach after the sun went down to find some good food and drinks. On this Wednesday evening, places were starting to close and there were only a few decent options. So, I found myself at LandShark Bar & Grill. When it comes to restaurant chains, I am pretty clueless (Ugh! As if!). I don't keep up with new theme restaurants or celebrity eateries. But it didn't take me very long to realize this was one of Jimmy Buffet's joints (Fins up! RIP). Other than the obvious clues such as menu categories including "Fins to the left" or "Fins to the right", it felt exactly like a Margaritaville restaurant. This wasn't a bad thing. While theme chains aren't normally my jam, it felt really appropriate for my last night at the beach. I actually enjoyed the formulaic theme. I knew what to expect and enjoyed the familiarity of such a restaurant. LandShark has a large menu with a lot of food options and possibly even more drink options. It can be a little overwhelming, but they made sure there was something for everyone. We sat outside and listened to the waves crashing along the coastline as the tide came in. Our server was kind and attentive even though it was just an hour before closing time. I enjoyed a light and refreshing LandShark Lager. We also ordered a few fruity concoctions, but I only sipped those. What I tasted was yummy, I just don't prefer sweet drinks. The fried pickles were good, and we really enjoyed the fish and chips. Again, the menu feels very familiar, but that was perfect when I wasn't in the mood to make a lot of decisions. I just wanted to order something familiar and tasty. We came here in a large group of 10 . Got sat right away and was surprised since it was bike week. For apps we chose oysters, soup, and potato skins. I will say I was a little disappointed in the soup . Slightly too salty for my liking. Oysters did taste fresh . My main meal was a snapper which came in a delish butter sauce . Landshark is becoming my favorite spot in Daytona when visiting Florida for peaceful ocean views while eating fresh tasty food. Been there twice so far and I'll confirm for sure after my next visit. The service has been a hit or miss. The first time, my server was cold and hard to find; second time, my server was warm & friendly to different walks of life, regularly checked up on my table, and was very considerate about my food allergy - when she learned that an ingredient contained it, she quickly asked if I wanted another meal order. My second server was so nice that my mom praised her with the manager at end of the meal. The food might take a little longer but it's worth the wait. Plus I don't mind watching and listening to the waves, feeling the ocean breeze - so peaceful! . Ask to be seated on the patio where you can see both the ocean and the inside of the bar section with the TVs for sports games (e.g., American NFL football games). The menu is extensive so everyone in the group will find something to eat. I highly suggest the salmon burgers or fresh fish and chips (fries). And don't forget dessert! The banana pudding is delicious!! It's very decadent and good serving portion - ask for spoons and consider sharing among 2 or 3 people. One suggestion for Landshark would be to include a menu of nonalcoholic beverages. Recent polls show that about 54% of Americans are not drinking alcohol - and more so for Gen Z. I'm in that category and was looking for a nonalcoholic drink on the menu. Florida has access to vast amounts of all sorts fresh fruit - lean into that and offer unique fresh juices or mocktails. Hire a bartender with Brazilian, Caribbean, Japanese, or Indonesian background - those countries know how to concoct tasty and cool fruit drinks. I'm certain revenues will increase. It's our anniversary go to spot for our traditional cheeseburgers (long story). Went to celebrate our 32nd wedding anniversary today and were promptly seated and ordered our drinks. The server brought water and a coke for my husband. We then placed our food order and I waited patiently for over 30 minutes for my frozen 'License to Kill' drink. It never came. Our server never returned. We sat there until it became quite clear that there was something very wrong. We flagged down the greeter that passed us after seating a couple and asked about our order. Staff were friendly, fast, and checked on us a few times. We were sat quickly and in a nice spot to see the beach. We used the Wyndham vouchers and ordered two entrees. The blacked sword fish was the catch of the day and it was wonderful with a very generous portion fish steak, delicious! We ordered the steamer basket and the shrimp was very good, lightly cooked and seasoned as it should be, delicious! Unfortunately, the snow crab was a big disappointment, tiny as if eating a blue crab, shame, maybe chef pay attention and use those tiny crabs for something else and give the customer a decent size crab, wtheck. We had the crab cake appetizer and it was delicious and good portion. We also used a coupon for BOGO for margaritas and they were fair. The LandShark draft beer was cold and tasty, yum.
