Drop whatever you are doing and go! Zanzibar is an intimate yet unique live jazz music experience literally in the basement of a historical house. Beer and wine is served in a highly welcoming setting. Tonight, it was someone's birthday and they were handing out slices of cake to everyone there. The live performance was PHENOMENAL. Amy A. Hall, a vocalist, was performing with a back up band, which included covers of mainstream R&B songs. People were dancing and moving on the floor and in their seats. Cannot say enough good things. This is a great casual setting which gives you options from wine, beers, and mocktail. The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is truly electric. So when you're at the location, walk through the alleyway inside to the back where you will see an open seating area under a tent. Approach the back of the house, and you will see a lady greeting you and asking for a credit card for the cover charge. You then walk down into the basement, and that is where the speakeasy is. I got their Funky Buddha, and it tasted nice. I really enjoyed the live jazz music too, such a vibe! This experience made up for my crap time in Daytona. read more

Went on a Sunday evening arriving around 9 pm. Small venue only serving beer and wine. It was our first time here the band was outside on break and helped direct us into the space. As I said it's a small space in the basement of old barbershop. It looks like they have a larger space out back I would think is used during a busier season. It was an intimate fun time. This is a unique experience here in Daytona. We walked through a 1950s Barbershop and headed for the basement to find a bar with a very cool vibe. It's is reminiscent of the best part of New Orleans back in the day in the French Quarter. Owner and staff super friendly. But their staff are possibly the best people in the whole of town. Making everyone bar none, welcome Different music each evening Thursday through Sunday. Closing at 11 PM.
