A unique, nearly oceanfront, bar & restaurant oveooking the bandstand on the boardwalk with views of the ocean. In shopping area next to Bubba Gumps. Outdoor and indoor seating with a limited food menu. However, the shrimp ceviche and shrimp tacos are excellent as others have said. Steps when arrive: 1) grab your table, 2) go into bar to order drinks & food, and, 3) they'll bring them to you. So, a bit different than many places. Great spot for people watching. And not overly busy in weekdays. Parking in garage across the street - $5 for 1 hour, $10 for 2-3 hours. Excellent mango marguerita. Part of Landry Restaurantsso can get points for visits here. Finally got the chance to try this place when it's not busy. Came here on a Sunday afternoon and we were the first ones to grab a drink. Two Long Island iced teas for $20! Can't beat that. Weather was beautiful. Drinks were strong. I wish there was a better view of the ocean. read more

We stopped for a drink while walking around the boardwalk area. There were only 2 other customers at the bar at 6 pm on a Tuesday. The inside is dark and dank, so we happily took our beer outside. Our tour guide Betty from Boot Hill Suggested Mai Tai for late night cheap drinks. We enjoyed a Thursday late night happy hour which starts at 9pm. We sat outdoors, where smoking is not allowed. The view of Richie Plaza and the Band Shell were pretty spectacular on this night with a full moon (or close). Drinks are cheap. We were all about the fruity drink specials for $5. Lava Flow was like dessert, too sweet for me. The Captain Morgan Rum Runner was tasty. The wait staff was nice, but never did bring my water or ask my friend about a refill. Could have been more attentive. The restaurant deck was clean, comfortable and has great vibes. Being oceanfront doesn't hurt! The lead vocals in the live band sounded like karaoke--and not good karaoke. Even with the cheap drinks--you couldn't drink enough for that guy to sound good. read more

Don't expect them to open on time. Google and their own website states they open at 4:00 PM. We waited for 15 minutes expecting to be welcomed in by a keyholder at 4:00. My party of eight, thirsty for cocktails and very ready to order $15 burgers walked away with easily $2000 worth of other customers and business as they couldn't be bothered to open on time nor address the large crowd anxiously (turned agitatedly) for an explanation or ETA. Landshark just south of this mess proved to be a great alternative. Easily 50 customers waited and left to other restaurants. read more

We stopped in here for dinner and were one of three tables of customers. That should have tipped us off. We started with the calamari which were extremely small. Not the plate, the actual calamari. They were over battered and over fried. Very rubbery. Then we got the chicken tenders and they were also over fried and very dry. The bourbon dipping "sauce" was completely liquid, like water. It tasted like they just mixed bourbon and sugar in a jar and then poured it in a cup and called it sauce. Lastly, the firecracker shrimp. They were not deveined and when I pointed this out to the waiter he said "I don't know any restaurant that cleans the small ones"...like I was just supposed to get over myself and happily eat poop. And trying to pass off that other restaurants are dirty (which they are not) so they can be too. We got Mai Tai's to drink and they were pretty good, hence the two stars. read more

SUPER AFFORDABLE! We were surprised to find a beachfront place that is so inexpensive. Almost every drink and app on the menu is $8 or $9! And things like fries and edamame are $4-5. And I'm talking 2, 3, even 4 liquor drinks, by the way! A burger with fries is $10! We had the hummus with pita wedges ($8) and the pork nachos ($9). Both were a delight. The pork nachos were so good, we just couldn't stop eating them. They were topped with a VERY chunky guacamole, which is the way I like it, plus all the other normal toppings. We went here because it is right by the Bandshell. We started off sitting inside, where there was ample room and after 2 false alarms running outside because we thought we had a table, a security person came in and told us one was open! We wanted to be outside when the tribute band started. My only disappointment was, about an hour after ordering a mai tai, when we decided to get some food, was to find they have five different takes on a mai tai! You would think the waitress would have bothered to let me know that. This is probably my favorite spot in Daytona. Such a good atmosphere with great food and entertainment. We drove in for the weekend to pick up a bike and take advantage of a romantic getaway. This was the perfect location to do so. We even came back the next night and it was even better. The live band on Friday was really good too. The prices are so affordable especially if you order off of the happy hour menu, which has late night hours. Overall, we will definitely be back when we come back for bike week. read more

Amazing happy hour. Decent views of the beach kind of through the boardwalk/pavillion. We were there on a Fri (M-F they have certain apps on a happy hour special and also drink specials) the day we were there they offered their late night drink specials during happy hour which included $3 Kona Big Wave and $3 glasses of wine. We also had a couple of their happpy hour apps. The shrimp ceviche was really good. For the happy hour price of $6 they don't give you a smaller portion which I've had some places do. It's kind of like pica de gallo with streamed shrimp. We liked it and thought it was refreshing. We also had the coconut shrimp which was also really good. 5 large shrimp in coconut batter fried to a perfect crisp and served with some kind of marmalade type sauce. The drinks were delicious and came up fast. We decided on some food as well. Ordered 12 chicken wings and a Margherita flat bread. Gave 4 stars as the food took longer than it should have to come out (the waitress informed us after putting our order in). We were hungry and not in a rush so not a big deal. It didn't seem too busy at that time yet so I was surprised they were behind in the kitchen. When it did arrive though, the two of us ate every wing and most of the flat bread. Would definitely order those same items again. But we will be returning and most likely will try something different. There were a lot of tasty options. I only ordered a Mai-Tai... how ironic. I got in really late from a long day of flying and needed a nightcap and AHA the bar is next door to my hotel and beautifully situated next to the beach. The drink itself was quite nice. Made with a good quality of liquors and did not cause the "cheap liquor" headache in the morning. By the time I arrived the kitchen was closed so I couldn't indulge in any morsels to quench the hunger. There's a happy hour I noticed on the signage too but I missed it. I'd be happily interested in a return to this spot. A tad earlier next time to try the food out. So here's the plan... start with a mai-tai since I know it wont disappoint while I look at the menu then try some of the coconut shrimp that the bartender said was delish. This place could be really cool but totally missed the mark for me. The decor is fun and tropical but they played really weird 80s and 90s music that did not match the vibe. There was only one other couple in there at 9pm on a Thursday night. I asked the bartender what he recommended and he said he could make me anything. I said how about something vodka based- heavy on the vodka light on the sugar. I watched him pour 3 different flavored vodkas 70% of the glass then top it off w juice. I watched him make it but once I tasted it there was zero vodka taste. I drank the whole thing in 10 min and felt nothing- 90% sure the "vodka" bottles were mostly water. I tip really heavy so this pissed me off. I then ordered a Tito's and soda- I dont drink more than once a month so I should have been at least buzzed at this point- again felt nothing. The night we went there was a local band that came on around 11 p.m. and played rock cover songs from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s. The next night they were having a battle of the bands. Our server Kacy was the bomb. She was sweet, had our drinks out quick and didn't forget anyone's order in our group of 15+. The food also arrived quickly. The best seats are outside facing the boardwalk and Daytona Beach Bandshell, but if it's thunderstorm season you are better of grabbing a table inside vs. chancing it and having your food and drinks soaked. I came here on my trip in Daytona beach. They had a happy hour and so I ordered a lava flow drink. It was like a pins colada with strawberry syrup. It was quite sweet! It didn't taste like alcohol at all. The Mai tai drink on the other hand was so good! I wish I had ordered that.. Instead I sipped from my boyfriends drink. I also ordered the coconut shrimp since it was $5 on the happy hour. There weren't many shrimps but gosh were they GOOD!!! I want some more right now! Visited twice in one day while staying at the Hilton Oceanfront. It was pretty much a few steps away from our room. Awesome happy hour during the day (on food and drinks) and a happy hour on drinks at night. Their buffalo chicken sliders are really tasty as well as the firecracker shrimp and bbq chicken flatbread. Wasn't really digging the Parmesan fries though. Decent prices, even outside of happy hour..and our server, Jackie, was the best! Beautiful scenery. Absolutely nice. Was looking for a happy hour place on the boardwalk and ran into this place. I sat outside on the patio & first I ordered the calamari. Honestly it was a real disappointment. It tasted plastic, very plastic and no good. I sent it back and ordered the spinach dip which wasn't that much tastier either. The drinks however were the silver lining. I tried about 3 or 4 different kinds until I found my favorite which was a peach martini. The drinks & the scenery made it a beautiful evening. read more

Lets start with the Positive, good vibes, great ocean front views, convenient parking lot, food was great. The hummus platter (the only veggie option in appetizers was really good. Outdoor area was cool, we got there at a good time before the crowd came for a memorial weekend concert, we had front seats. To the bad now...Service was ok, the waitress came pushing for us to order alcohol non stop, but didn't bring water for all of us (smart but we caught on basically tactic to get people super drunk on a hot day) & never brought glasses for the pitcher of water??!! And when she finally brought to us 2 glasses it was like 30 min later. Also when you order a new pitcher i always expect cold glasses, here if you didn't ask you didn't get them. They just expected you to use the older ones which is fine but when you are outside, beer gets warm easy. My mixed special happy hour drink, the freaky something was super weak, same happened to my sis in law with her special. So sweet so unless you are into those type of super sugary fruity drinks don't bother. Had to switch to beer after & my sis in law pay for a regular drink that wasn't on special. Went with shrinp ceviche for $6 and the coconut shrimp for $7. Portions are nothing crazy but got thr job done. The coconut shrimp was an order of 6 giant fried shrimp and dipping sauce. Great flavor and could taste the coconut flavor. The shrimp ceviche was tasty and came with chips. Specials can vary for drinks but they had 3 dollar drafts. I went to Mai Tai this past Saturday around 9:30/10pm and the place was dead. Dead on a Saturday night? Perhaps it's better to go there in the afternoon? There was a pop/rock band called Greye playing at that time and they seem to have a lot of potential, the lead singer is pretty and has a nice voice but their music selection was very bad. I'm not sure if they play local songs but during their entire first set I only recognized 2 of the songs they played and I could notice the other people around weren't too happy. Why wouldn't they stick to the popular songs? Perhaps I went to Mai Tai on a bad day, I might give it another try next time I'm in Daytona but this time I didn't have a good experience. One star for the late happy hour with cheap drinks and another one for the friendly bartender but that's about it. read more

Go here is you want rude service for mediocre food. I was on vacation with family and decided to stop here for an evening snack. We sat in the outside lounge. The waitress took order for spinach dip and grilled chicken sliders. 40 minutes goes by but never gives an update. Finally the chicken was under cooked and food is tasteless . Didn't expect this from a Daytona beachside restaurant. Seriously these kind of restaurants should be kick out of the community so the most famous beach can keep its name. read more

Mai Tai is pretty much what you'd expect for a bar located right on the ocean in Daytona within the Ocean Walk shopping center. Please understand, this shopping center was built fairly recently and contains a Mexican restaurant, a Bubba Gump's Shrimp House, a Maui Nix Surf Shop, some other stores and a movie theatre playing current films. So what you have here is an effort to make bank on the tourists. That said, the bar is pretty good: a good place for tropical drinks and the interior and patio seating are both a nice atmosphere and since the building is fairly new, everything seems clean (perhaps even too clean?) for a bar. My complaints are that, well, it's a touristy place: the live music is always classic rock (thankfully decent covers and little of Jimmy Buffet) and the patrons tend towards middle aged couples who have come over form inland Florida for a day at the beach, which there's nothing wrong with but just not my scene. The namesake tropical drink is good, as are other tropical potions. The architecture of the Ocean Walk is either rather lurid or very cute . . . you'll just have to decide for yourself. I think it's fun, but again touristy to the max. read more

I'm giving this a simple 5/5 for : Cheap drinks that taste amazing during MULTIPLE Happy Hour opportunities. and Great Ocean/Boardwalk Views. They have a LARGE schedule of events NIGHTLY and if I lived in Daytona, I would probably visit this place at least once a week. I can only grade it on a few drinks but the few I had were very enjoyable. They might not be that strong though as they did not have any booze taste. The only food we got was Spinach Artichoke dip which was also quite good. The drink with "Lava" in the name was easily the best - a Pina Colada with Strawberry tastes. The cucumber melon crush was also quite good. The martinis might have been OK but were kinda lame in comparison. The slushy mai tai seemed like it was the strongest of the happy hour drinks and probably best value for the booze factor. I will agree with another review in which the servers are quite erm, under dressed. Assuming its good for the tips but its kinda outta-place here. read more

Hello everyone, as you can see I never review but I just had to.... we came to Daytona for a relaxing getaway. I recently moved to NYC from Georgia and wanted to go somewhere nice with my best friend. The scenery was amazing for this restaurant, however, the service was not up to par. Our server wasn't very attentive. She asked us if we wanted alcoholic drinks first when we recanted she asked us if we would like to wait until we chose some. Our server arrived again, saying "sorry, but I was with another table and they kept moving around and were being difficult".(I worked in customer service, you are not supposed to tell someone that another table is more important than the one you are currently serving). Then, we selected Mahgarita Flatbread Pizza with no pine nuts and a Fried Calamari for our appetizers, with two glasses of water and I chose a Mai Tai for my alcoholic drink order. She asked twice if we wanted to start a drink tab or pay as we went. The words "pay for our drinks as we went" came out of our mouths. Once we received our waters she handed us our bill. The price of the drink was autocratic. Mind you our food did not arrive yet, and we did not specify that we wanted to be together. Another server brought out our food and we questioned why our receipt was so high, he kindly said one second let me check. Our waitress arrived a few moments after and questioned if we had a problem. I asked her why our drink receipt was so high and the words "I'm sorry, I just assumed you guys would be paying together.. is there anything wrong?" left her mouth. We said,"no, but those words never left our mouths",she couldn't have fixed it because I was using an American Express Gift Card and it would have been overly complicated to add the money back because I can't add or withdraw cash from the card. Then she noticed my friend removing her pinenuts from her pizza and was already halfway done eating. She asked if we wanted to send it back and we said no because our stomachs were growling and needed to eat. If she was attentive and grabbed our food instead of another waiter we would have escaped this situation. I handed her the reciept and she checked if we tipped her right in front of us before leaving the table.After that, we never saw our waitress again and we stayed an extra 15 minutes to see if she would come back and to finish my Mai Tai, which was hard to drink because the straw is smaller than the ice in the glass; I would suggest just drinking from the glass. The ambiance here is completely awesome. They have both outside and indoor seating. My friends and I decided to sit inside due to the fact we didn't want the humidity to ruin our hair. The table we sat at had couches and comfy seats for chairs. It was pretty big inside an looked clean. The drink menu looked amazing. An endless amount of tropical drinks and martinis. The menu also offered finger food as well. When we went it was happy hour and the martinis were really cheap, so we each decided to get one. For finger food we got the buffalo chicken sliders, ahi tuna and chicken skewers in a peanut sauce. All of the food was great and the chicken skewers were amazing. In general the place wasn't too busy, probably because it was a Thursday night. We wound up hanging out there for awhile. The martinis tasted really good, however, we noticed that we had literally 5 martinis each and were barley catching a buzz. My friends wound up ordering wine and I decided to get a dirty martini. The waitress was somewhat attentive, but in general, she was really nice. All and all, I would go back for the food but would not recommend any of the cocktails on the menu because of how little liquor thy actually put in it. read more

This is a decent place to sit and have a couple drinks while staring at the water and people watching. It's right next to the band stage so it's not exactly oceanfront but u get the feel of it. Inside is tacky Hawaiian decor right down to the faux bamboo chairs. Get a seat outside if you can. I do like that they have seating options of tables...couch areas..and cozy corners. Do not come here for the food..or lack thereof. In face don't even get the watered down sugary drinks they sell. We had a lychee martini and a mai tai. God awful and smallest martini of my life.
