I usually elaborate on my reviews for restaurants but I actually found this visit a very straightforward one. My family and I were actually out to go strawberry picking but ultimately did not meet our expectations. We were all hungry and by a search happened to find Landshark Bar & Grill. Interesting was the location next to Margaritaville. The menu is a couple of selections but ultimately decided to go with the Seafood platter that had the beer batter fish, fries, coleslaw, coconut shrimp, fried shrimp with pineapple aioli, cocktail sauce and tartar sauces. Good selections and a nice crispy bite to each. Overall I think visiting Landshark Bar & Grill. The food ok and the atmosphere nice since it is overlooking Lake Conroe. Service was ok as well and I did appreciate manager stopping by the table to ask if everything was good. Maybe there is a cheeseburger in paradise. Nothing to worry about and it was a pleasant visit. read more

The only reason I gave this place one star was our server was delightful...the food was poorly prepared from substandard ingredients. My dining companions and I are veterans of the restaurant, catering & hospitality industry. The fish on the fish & chips was inedible. The first attempt was burnt beyond recognition. The second attempt was boxed, previously frozen fish patties that were under-cooked. The only thing edible on the plate was the "chips." The steak sandwich consisted of a slab of flank steak that could have replaced the sole of a shoe. Flank is the wrong cut unless it is sliced, thinly, cross-grain. It was also poorly seasoned and bland. We ordered a crispy chicken sandwich that wasn't crispy, it was grilled. This entre' and the fries were the only acceptable dishes served. We asked if the crab cakes were made with lump crab. Our server checked with the cook and informed us it was imitation crab (pollock). I spoke with the manager to let her know about the experience. "You can't fix it if you don't know what is wrong." I was offered a complimentary meal on our next visit. I told the manager that wasn't necessary as we are just visiting the area. I waited a while for the check while my companions went to get our car. The server finally delivered the check and the two inedible dishes were deleted from the bill. I paid and tipped our lovely server more than than the total check would been. It wasn't her fault. read more

Waitress was great, the issue was the kitchen. We waited for over an hour for our food, eventually asked to have it boxed to take to the hotel. Restaurant was by no means busy. Server did her best, but she doesn't cook the food. Clearly the whole resort management is struggling to perform well, maintenance and food service especially. Staff we interacted with were professional, clearly it's the kitchen staff and the management. I would not return, when I did eat the food it was good. Slow service is hard to overcome. read more

Unfortunately, our experience at LandShark Bar & Grill in Margaritaville was not what we expected. The environment was probably the biggest issue. There was extremely loud music playing the entire time we were there because there was a DJ. It made it very difficult to have a conversation and made the overall dining experience unpleasant. I ordered the Hawaiian Burger, and unfortunately, it was terrible. The burger tasted like water and had almost no seasoning. It honestly tasted like the ground beef had been cooked without seasoning and then soaked in water. The burger was also extremely large and had way too much unseasoned beef, which made it difficult to enjoy. My boyfriend ordered the wings. He said the skin was very chewy and that the ranch was not good. The one positive was that he did enjoy the blue cheese. The service also wasn't the best. We had a difficult time getting the staff's attention when we needed help, which added to the overall disappointing experience. Overall, between the loud environment, disappointing food, and slow/difficult-to-get service, this was not an experience we'd want to repeat. Nice place to sit and relax at Margaritaville. Had a conference at Margaritaville. After the meeting ended, decided to spend a little extra time before making the 90-minute drive back home. Found a quiet table and enjoyed the beachy vibe while enjoying a view of Lake Conroe. Great place to soak in life on a warm and breezy Sunday afternoon in October. Tried to grab some drinks and appetizer before the show. Seating was 45 minutes and the order would take at least another 45 minutes. Sadly, we wound up with drinks and stale tortilla chips. Ambiance: Bar & restaurant located on the Margaritaville property with an indoor dining area + bar and outside patio area overlooking Lake Conroe. Summer/tropical aesthetic featuring tiki hut patio tables and colorful decor. I loved my time at LandShark - however, I drank my beer on the patio and watched the lake so I cannot speak too much on the vibe/service inside or for food. There are a ton of kids everywhere - which I did feel hindered the experience given that many were running around unsupervised, splashing water up towards the patio seating, and being loud. This is certainly a family-friendly spot. One patron left their dog on their boat while they ate inside and so we did have a dog barking a good portion of the time. I would give less stars but loved the location, theme, happy hour, and friendly hostess but it stops there. This business has so much potential but either they need to provide better training or hire skilled employees. We went here 2 different occasions, once for drinks at the bar and another for dinner. Terrible service both times sadly. We waited 15 minutes at the bar before we were acknowledged and it wasn't even busy. I watched bartenders check on other existing patrons and walked right passed us multiple times. Only when I flagged one over did she say "I'll be with you in just a minute" with an agitated tone. Thankfully, drinks were good and strong so made it tolerable. Arrived around 6:30ish and restaurant didn't look to busy as inside I saw a few open tables inside and outside also. Decided to walk around to check out the place and margaritaville as it was my first time there. The whole complex is really nice and right on the lake so views are awesome. Went back to restaurant around 7pm and was greeted and told by hostess that it would be a wait of 15 mins for inside table?? Odd as I saw plenty of open tables so I was confused...but they took my cell# and told me they would text me when table was ready. 15 mins later they called me, not text but either way they alerted me my table was ready. Menu has plenty of options and prices are pretty good for being on the lake and in the margaritaville complex. I ordered the Kingston chicken $20 which tasted really good and had good heat and flavor but was served with fries and coleslaw which made for visually odd combo. This dish would be a lot better if served with mashed taters and some veggies and they could charge an additional $3 as a more elevated dish. My GF ordered the Caribbean salad $16 and it was good overall but they add and mix in the dressing when making so if you have issue with that ask if you can get dressing on the side but I did not know if they do that as we didn't ask or know it would come already in the salad. We also ordered 2 frozen margaritas $10 ea and I asked what brand tequila they use and was told all margaritaville brand so I asked if I could get a top shelf or sub in Don Julio and was told no as the frozen margarita was premixed already...the drinks were served in a clear solo cup and had heavy lime flavor but could not taste the tequila soooo not to good but I should of figured since only $10 Over all the staff was friendly and service was good. Would return but next visit I'd probably try a wrap, burger or fish sandwich as it is more bar/pub like food and fries on the side make more sense.. read more

While staying at the resort, we decided to check out LandShark Bar & Grill for dinner. We arrived at 8:30p and were told it was approximately a 30 min wait. We waited about 30 minutes and were seated. It took forever, and I mean forever as in an hour and a half to receive our food! We were beginning to think it was never coming. The server was friendly and I doubt it is his fault so I don't want to place blame there although I'm not entirely sure how you wait that long to eat. Most of us received our entrees by 1015 but my son didn't receive his until nearly 1030p!! We arrived at 830p and were seated at 9p! This is a Wednesday night and it definitely was not a packed house so I'm not sure if there weren't enough staff to service or what happened. I'm sorry but 2 hours for this type of food is unacceptable. Also, no explanations were offered as to the major delay. As this was a first time visit, I don't know if the wait is typically or just a one-off. I'm giving 2 stars because the food was ok. It wasn't stellar but it was ok. For the price and wait, I would definitely expect more. Sad to say because we plan on visiting this resort often but this won't be on our list. I could maybe give it one more try if this is a one off situation but we will see. Plan to stay a long time and don't be extra hungry as you'll be left waiting. read more

This was their 12oz sirloin. It was cold when it was served to me. The french fries were the only thing that was hot. I asked for the server to take them and simply reheat the dish. When they returned with the dish, I noted that the staff hovering me to see my reaction. I didn't want to be an entitled person, so I simply shared that it's not a big deal and I can eat the rest of the meal. They apologize that the dish didn't meet my expectations. They explained that the dish was recently added to the menu. The staff were sweet and making sure my coworker's were happy, so I can say customers are there. :) I just wish that my meal was warm, since it was a warm night, and away from my dog for a work retreat. I visited this restaurant during New Year's Eve and I will never come here again. The service was very bad. We were not served for over 30 minutes and no server came to us. The staff served other customers while we waited patiently. I highly believe the server that sat us down was prejudice against people of color. She happily served all the white people that sat down after us. Hopefully, management will look into addressing these customer service concerns with their staff in the near future. read more

Our family recently stayed a long weekend in a home on Lake Conroe, and we paid for day-passes to Margaritaville. Overall, I was unimpressed with our Margaritaville experience, but lunch here was delightful. Although they initially stumbled a little bit accommodating our table of nine adults and three children (two under 1yo), we were eventually seated. The atmosphere was exactly what you'd expect from a Jimmy Buffett, tropical, beach bum vibe - with windows overlooking Lake Conroe = lots of natural light. Our server handled our larger party perfectly - he had just the right balance of when we were ready to order / checking on us / leaving us alone. I'm sorry I don't remember his name, but I believe he was from Dubai? Anyway - he's a great asset to that location! Food was hit or miss. Appetizers came out quickly and were tasty - we opted for wings, nachos, fried pickles, and spinach/artichoke dip. I had a FANTASTIC burger and my brother-in-law had seemingly perfectly breaded fish (fish and chips). Unfortunately, my wife later told me her fish tacos were underwhelming. And my husband got a spicy burger that he said was also very good. I was waiting at the bar for our drinks, then my nephew comes back from the playground and the bartender offers him a shark pin. He was excited about that shark pin for the next 3 days. We thought the menu had some interesting cocktails so I ordered a Spicy Mango Margarita and my wife ordered a Punk Cadillac. They're $12+ drinks served in flimsy plastic cups and unappealing looking drinks. My "spicy" drink takers like watered down cool-aid with a splash of coconut syrup. I asked for jalapeños to at least get some spicy into it. My wife's drink looked also like a watered down and she also added jalapeños to be able to drink it. The saving grace was the "Beach Chips" we ordered. They were delicious and the only reason gave 3 stars. I definitely won't be back. $44 for two watered down cocktails and an order of chips is just not worth it. read more

So there I was listening to Margaritaville radio on SXM when I decided a cheeseburger in paradise sounded perfect at the time. Within seconds, Waze was guiding me to LandShark. Oh how I wish I had been listening to a different station. I was underwhelmed with everything except the service. For the appetizer, the first batch of chips came out stale. Come on, man! The entrees? Well they missed the mark as well. The jerk chicken was doused in sauce - it was definitely missing that authentic taste. The fries had been sitting for a while as they were just slightly warmer than room temperature. When in Rome....well I ordered a margarita. Guess it was time to cut me heel and cruise on back home. We came here because it was walking distance from our resort stay. We sat outside at night because our boys wanted to but we ended up moving inside because the bugs were so bad for us. Maybe it's not as bad if you have bug spray on. Also noticed a lot of black straws thrown over in the grass area. That could easily have been folks that just didn't care about the littering. My wife and I are really big Jimmy Buffett fans and were excited to finally try out the Land Shark Bar and Grill at Margaritaville. We have been there two or three times and have had the same opinion each time. The food was just okay. The fish tacos, the Kingston chicken or the burgers. They were good, but not over the top good that I really want them again. The fries were also just okay as well. I could over look the unexciting food and even that fact that the margaritas were served in red plastic cups. This is NOT how Jimmy would have done it. A bit week on the tequila as well. All this aside, it was the really horrible service that we received from the waitress's each and every time! So to get to take your order, slow to bring the food and never checking on their customers is a big no no! We even had to run her down to get our check which so took forever to get to us. All of this and everything is way over priced but I guess you can charge higher prices because of the name. And although they make you wait, they are never really that busy, even on weekends. This has left us with a serious lack of desire to honor the spirit of Jimmy Buffett while we are out on the lake. There are other options for us to take the boat to and thing we will be avoiding any future visits to the Land Shark Bar and Grill in the future. read more
