We went midafternoon and the noise level was very pleasant. The service was excellent and our wait staff were all friendly and polite. They checked back often and were very responsive. We started with house biscuits which are always a hit with our group: love the pimento cheese and butter. I ate the pork ribs and really enjoyed the new rub they used with more honey and still a great spicy aftertaste. The full rack with mashed potatoes and slaw were all tasty and fresh. We also had the Parmesan crusted chicken that was actually juicy!! and the fish tacos that hit the spot for our birthday girl. We n all the food was great and served hot. The drinks were wonderful as usual. The margaritas were potent and the coconut mojito was fresh and just the right amount for one serving. We had a great time and wish this location wasn't 75 minutes from our home so we could visit more often. Walked-in and asked for a table for 2 with no reservations and said we were happy to sit outside or inside, was told by the young man taking my request that the wait time was only 15 minutes. After 20 minutes I observed another walk-in get seated ahead of us (I know this because I was seated in front of the check-in stand and heard their request) as a walk-in who came in five minutes after us. So, I returned to the check-in stand and asked how much longer they thought it would be, to which I was told it would be only about 15 more minutes, at point I proceeded to tell them about the walk-in they seated ahead of me and the young man informed me that they had a reservation and now my wait time would be 30 minutes? Before I could say anything in response, the young lady at the check-in stand proceeded to interrupt and tell me that they had all their wait times wrong and it was now at least 1 hour and 30 minutes wait time for me!!! Tonight was a better night. It was packed on a Saturday. The goat cheese dip never disappoints. For mains the Kona coffee crusted ribeye was solid. It's a traditional full slab of meat and not sliced up as I saw in one picture which I was thankful for. It actually doesn't taste like coffee at all though. Waiter said it's all about the sear. Usually don't do fish but the Chilean sea bass was really good. The texture kinda looked and tasted like a giant scallop. Yum. Love the vibe at this restaurant in general. I cannot believe I've lived in the area for 3 years and this was my first time at Tommy Bahama! I've been missing out!! I came in on a Wednesday night with a group of 5 to celebrate a friend's birthday. I can't speak to the wait time as one of our friends went ahead and got us a table. We were seated in a little back corner (which was perfect for us to celebrate) so I didn't see much of the restaurant, but what I could see was beautiful. I really thought the bar area looked fun and would plan to sit there when I come back. Our waiter, I believe his name was Eric (I hate I forgot because he was so good to us), was incredible. He saw we had a birthday cake and immediately offered to take it to the back fridge for us. He gave good recommendations for drinks and food. I took him up on his drink recommendation and ended up finding my new favorite alcoholic beverage. It's been a couple of days now since I was introduced to the coconut cloud martini and not only have I thought about it every day since, I've also recommended it to everyone I've talked to. I already felt good after one drink, but having two was perfect. It was well worth the money for such a delicious cocktail that also gave such a good buzz. My husband ordered the baja margarita and he felt the same about his drink. He absolutely loved it! For food, we all shared the guacamole and salsa appetizer. The guacamole is chunkier than what I'm used to, but that doesn't take away from how incredible and flavorful it is! I ordered the parmesan crusted chicken but subbed the broccoli for asparagus. My food was awesome! I don't eat seafood, but this restaurant makes me wish I did. Since we had birthday cake, we didn't end up eating any of the desserts. After taking a year long break, we decided to give it another try, but left with the same impression. The portions have become noticeably smaller while prices have increased significantly. What was once a $19 steak salad is now $31. The only thing they've changed is the potatoes - the salad used to include roasted potatoes and now has thin, crunchy frites which I pushed off to the side. Get the bread! We stopped in for a quick bite to eat before our flight home. The restaurant is elegant and has an island flair to it, which is what they are known for. The restaurant is known for its seafood, however, it does offer non-seafood options, such as steak, chicken, burgers, and pasta. We started our lunch with the baked goat cheese dip. It was so warm and delicious and it was served with grilled buttered bread for dipping. We ordered the 14 ounce Kona-ribeye which came with garlic, mashed potatoes and grilled broccoli spears. The steak was cooked, medium rare and it was delicious. The meat was tender and had the right amount of fat for extra flavor! We also ordered the seared Ahi tuna, poke salad. The salad was served cold along with the tuna and was very delicious. The tuna was seared and crusted with furikake seasoning. We learned if you sign up and download the app you get $10 off on your first visit. You also can earn $25 after spending $250, which is not hard to do at the Tommy Bahama restaurant!! The service was friendly and professional, something I would expect at a five star steakhouse. The restaurant had indoor and outdoor seating; we opted to sit outside and enjoy our lunch surrounded by a beautiful garden. A bonus for us was... A small bite sized appetizer of tuna poke on cucumber slices, complements of the chef on our first time visiting the restaurant. If you're ever in Texas in The Woodlands area... I highly recommend you pop in and have a signature cocktail and appetizer, or a nice entrée. We visited this restaurant for a birthday dinner this past weekend and were mostly satisfied with the food. However, near the end of the meal, I took a sip of water and felt something hard in my mouth. When I pulled it out, I discovered it was a small, sharp piece of glass. Looking into my glass, I noticed multiple additional shards at the bottom, including one nearly an inch long. I hadn't realized earlier because the staff had been frequently refilling the glass throughout the meal. I brought this to the waiter's attention, and he took the glass away to inspect it. A few minutes later, he returned with a new glass of water and a manager came over to ask what happened. They took down my contact information, but beyond that, no meaningful action was taken. I was surprised that there was no effort to acknowledge the seriousness of the situation--especially given the potential for serious injury. Our bill even initially included the cost of the complimentary birthday dessert. A few days later, I was contacted by their insurance company to confirm that I had not been injured. While I'm grateful I avoided any injury, the overall response from the restaurant felt dismissive given the severity of what occurred. This situation could have ended very differently, especially if this had been served to someone else or a child. Unfortunately, based on this experience, we likely will not return. read more

We ordered the lobster spring rolls and the burrata off their seasonal menu. The burrata was delicious. It had charred peaches in it. The bread was toasted with olive oil. That was delicious. The lobster spring roll was good but I liked the burrata more. I got the crab cake appetizer as my meal since it was 2 crab cakes versus 3 which was the entree. Plus I wanted a side of mash potatoes. We ended up getting one of each to share as a group. Holy moley!! It was a pineapple crème brûlée that was made in actual pineapple. So cute! I get funny looks from friends when I told them how much I love this place - yes, "the bar and restaurant inside the expensive shirt store" is worth your time. Happy hour is really the time to go because the drinks go from very expensive to only kind of expensive. That said, the frozen mai tai is the showstopper here, and the sweetness is really calmed down by the generous floater of rum they add to the top. The pineapple martini is a good second choice, but be careful because it tastes like candy but hits like jet fuel. The food is excellent with an expected Hawaiian/Pacific theme. You can't go wrong with any of the seafood dishes, with mahi-mahi and ahi choices always done well. I went to Tommy Bahama for a business dinner and had the filet mignon. we also tried the appetizer, coconut shrimp which was simply amazing Now back to the filet mignon; cooked medium rare, with the side of potatoes, was simply delicious. It was tender, moist, and just really good. I usually don't order steak at restaurants because they can't cook it like I do at home, but this one was good. Highly recommended because they have salads and seafood and a variety of things that are very good. I've had their steak salad there a couple of times as well, and it is very tasty, especially with the blue cheese dressing. It's so good!! Go there, you won't be sorry. read more

Ordered takeout for lunch. I got the steak salad and it did not disappoint. The portion was large in size. It's not just an ordinary steak salad. It's a filet mignon salad cooked to your desired taste. The vinaigrette dressing complimented the salad and it also came with a garlic aioli. Perfect combination mixing the dressing and aioli. We celebrated an anniversary dinner here tonight for our first visit! It was spectacular experience from start to finish. Our server, Sara, was kind, attentive, and gave us excellent recommendations all evening. When we walked in I said that if the food was half as good as the ambiance we would definitely be back! We were served these tasty little bites of salmon on sourdough since it was our first visit which we washed down with the raspberry jalapeno paloma and the bahia sangria. The paloma was just a tad spicy, not sweet enough for me, the sangria was perfect - just a bit sweet, I probably could've drank a whole pitcher! We were hungry and it was our first visit so we splurged and ordered two appetizers, we couldn't choose just one. The lobster spring rolls and goat cheese dip did not disappoint! The lobster spring rolls had a light crispy wrap which we enjoyed with and without the lettuce. The thai chili sauce was more flavorful than spicy and complimented the rolls nicely. The goat cheese dip was my favorite of the two! But I have quite the affinity for goat cheese. The macadamia nuts and mango were chopped small and wn iced nicely with the goat cheese which was served with the toasted crostinis upon which we generously spread the dip. For dinner, we ordered the thai shrimp and scallops and the parmesan crusted sanibel chicken . Both dishes were excellent! The shrimp and scallops were tender, not fishy, the coconut curry sauce was light and flavorful, and the rice was delicious even on its own! The light parmesan crust on the chicken gave the outside just a bit if crunch and complimented the filling and the red sauce. This was served with a giant portion of mashed potatoes and celery. We couldn't say no to dessert and went with the creme brûlée that's served in the bottom of a fresh pineapple on top of crushed pineapple with a white chocolate whipped cream. The portion was reasonable, not huge, and it was light, a perfect finish to the meal. We were really made to feel like special guests by everyone we interacted with.
